Charming dog-friendly cottage one block from the beach & close to downtown!

Bedrooms 1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 14 nights

About the property

House, 1 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 3

This cozy Cannon Beach vacation rental offers all the comforts of home in a small but smartly designed space! Less than a block from the sandy beach and within easy walking distance of the quaint shops and galleries downtown, this dog-friendly getaway makes a lovely retreat for up to three guests.

You'll enter your new abode by passing the sweet patio out front with its charcoal grill, so don't forget to pick up a few steaks or shrimp skewers for dinner! After climbing a few steps, you'll enter into the kitchen and dining area. This kitchen is stocked with everything you'll need, from expected appliances like a refrigerator, oven with stovetop, microwave, and coffeemaker to welcome amenities like a coffee grinder, mixer, and blender (but, no dishwasher).

Sit down to your home-cooked meal at the four-person dining table, which also makes an excellent setting for a board game marathon or game of cards after dinner. Or, retire to the comfy sofa and enjoy a movie on the TV, complete with cable and Blu-Ray.

The bedroom is at the rear of the rental, with a queen bed, dresser, and closet so you can unpack and feel right at home. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo. There's a public laundry room at the Cannon Beach RV Resort about two miles away so you can always have clean hiking socks ready to go!

The living room's sofa turns into a cozy twin sleeper, so the home is ideal for a couple with a child or a good friend tagging along. And, of course, your furry family members - 60 pounds or less - are welcome too, with an additional nightly fee. They'll love chasing tennis balls (and maybe seagulls) on the beach just across the street!

Cannon Beach is full of fun activities and surrounded by beautiful scenery, from iconic Haystack Rock and its tide pools to the cedar-shingled shopping and dining in the heart of town. Grab a latte at the local coffee roaster before a walk along the shore, or bring along your bike for a scenic ride through town. Hiking trails, kayaking adventures, and surfing are all within a short drive.

You'll feel right at home in this cozy Cannon Beach vacation rental, whether you swing by for a weekend trip or really spend some time in this popular Oregon Coast town!

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Small and cozy, but close to everything!

  • 5 of 5

We spent four days in this lovely cottage--it's small, but we didn't need that much space for two of us. More than two would be tight, though--the couch is more or less a daybed, but I don't think it would be that comfortable to sleep on.

It's well-insulated--it stayed warm even after we'd turned the wall heaters off, and we never heard anything from the folks on the other side of the living room wall (the cottage shares a wall with another cottage, though I believe there's a cleaning room in between). The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped, although a larger cutting board would be nice to have. The wi-fi worked perfectly, the a/v setup was great for watching movies in the evening, and the bed was very comfortable. One tip--do bring slippers anytime but high summer, as even with the heater the floors are quite chilly! But we had extra towels (which were really helpful, as since it was near the coast and humid, they never quite dried all the way), extra blankets and pillows--thanks, Vacasa, for thinking of all of that!

You're only a couple blocks from the north section of Cannon Beach for breakfast or shopping, and half a block from the beach. Everything is walkable, easily. Don't miss the Cannon Beach Hardware Store & Pub for dinner--after all, how often can you eat in a hardware store? We also really liked Sweet Basil's for dinner.

Small but cozy and well-equipped!

  • 5 of 5

The Captain's Cottage was perfect for two of us, and Vacasa kitted it out exceptionally well--a several-day supply of towels (useful when things don't dry because of humidity), soap for the kitchen, the bath sink *and * the shower, a wonderfully-equipped kitchen, and extra blankets and pillows.

The only thing I'd say--if you're there any time but high summer, bring slippers, as the floors were surprisingly cold!

It is a little small, but if you're in Cannon Beach you won't likely be in it for much more than an evening... there's a lot to do! We didn't take advantage of the charcoal grill out front, but if the weather's good, do--there's a terrific seafood place (Ecola Seafoods) in town to buy really fresh fish.

We were really happy with the Captain's Cottage, and would come back there specifically, and would *definitely* stay in a Vacasa property again.

Small but close to beach and !

  • 4 of 5

Although the cottage is on the small size, for as much as we were there it was great. The proximity to the beach , walking into town and even south of town, makes the location superior. Good kitchen amenities are provided-there is a microwave and toaster too plus a full size refrigerator.

Affordable, Comfortable and Pet-friendly!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was clean and well-appointed. There was even a basket of treats and supplies (pet towels, dishes, biscuits) for my dog upon arrival. It was so lovely to find a truly affordable place to stay that was so welcoming to my dog. And to be able to see the ocean from our doorstep meant we could go for multiple walks daily on the beach. Great stay!

Always Vacasa

If your ok with small and cozy this place is for you. One nice thing is you do not have another guest directly attached. Very quite. At night open the windows and sleep to the sound of the ocean in the distance.
