Inlet Cove is a gated area located at the West end of the island by the Kiawah River. Inlet Cove cottages include a 25 meter swimming pool, boat dock and cookout area. Leisure trails allow quick access to the beach and West Beach Village.
Our Inlet Cove cottage is nestled in the trees of Kiawah providing a feeling of privacy. There is only a short walk to the beach or to the Inlet Cove swimming pool and dock area located on the Kiawah River.
Our smoke-free cottage has a home theater sound system with DVD player, new pergo bedroom floors, and a refreshed decor. We have wireless high speed internet access. We have tvs in all bedrooms as well as a new 55 inch Smart TV in the living area,....HD in living area and master bedroom. There are books, games and movies available on our shelves for curling up with after a day on the beach.
Why Maggie Goodwin chose Kiawah Island
We bought our Inlet Cove cottage #79 in 1980......way back when Kiawah was just being developed. A friend of ours had just purchased a cottage in Sparrow Pond and invited us to use it.......the next summer we 'went wild' and bought our own little piece of paradise. Very few people had heard of Kiawah at that time (we lived in Memphis Tn. at the time)....this was before the internet and VRBO. etc... so we depended on ads in various newspapers and word of mouth to rent our cottage....over 30 years have passed, our children are grown with children of their own and we are still able to continue loving our time in Kiawah.
What makes this cottage unique
Since we have owned our cottage for so many years, our family has grown up (at least for a short time of each year) at Kiawah. One of our daughters (who now lives in LA Calif) was married on the beach.....this is the same daughter who was building sandcastles on this same beach years before her wedding. We are dog lovers so have always brought our dogs to Kiawah and by doing so, we have met the nicest people over the years walking their dogs. Even though Kiawah has grown considerably over the time we have been enjoying our time there, the beauty of the beach and the natural setting continues to be awe inspiring.

Kiawah Family trip 2015
I have been traveling to Kiawah since 1999 with my family. This is our second visit to Inlet Cove and our trip was wonderful. We enjoyed the close walk to the beach, the quiet area of Inlet Cove and peaceful screened porch on the back. It is vey family oriented, and the access to the community pool and dock overlooking the river is a big plus!

The location is fantastic. Close to the beach and trails. One of the BEST vacations I ever had. Maggie is very kind and accommodating. I can't wait to rent again.
Beautiful area for an end of summer retreat.
We had a wonderful time at your home in Inlet Cove. Wonderful folks around us and fun fishing from the dock. Henry(my Dachshund) had a wonderful time running on the beach and exploring all new beach smells. Inlet Cove is such a lovely and quiet area and the whole Island is very pet and bike friendly.
We saw the Turtle Patrol Ladies every morning when we were walking on the beach and they invited us to go with them one morning to evaluate a nest. Wonderful experience.

I don't really know what to add to the reviews below--they are all right on point. Yes, the place is great, the beach, pool and dock are close enough to walk to, even with a bunch of gear, Maggie is very responsive and the cottage and island as a whole are very pet friendly. We had between 2 and 6 people overnight and up to 8 for dinner plus our dog and never felt cramped. Everything in the cottage worked as advertised. If you have been to Kiawah then I would say this place is a great value in terms of size, privacy and location compared to your other possible choices. Not the biggest or the closest or the fanciest but it is more than acceptable in all categories. Nice to be close to the main gate and the river and avoid a long drive once you cross the bridge to the island. If you have never visited Kiawah then you have yet to discover what I think is the best beach and resort community anywhere! it is a 17 hour drive for us past a lot of other beaches, but this is the one we return to.
Beautiful setting, convenient location, nicely appointed home
We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our Stay. The cottage was very comfortable for our family, which included our dogs, it was clean, well maintained, and nicely appointed. Having our dogs with us on vacation was a real treat. The Beach is an easy walk or bike, and we hardly used our car all week. The neighborhood is peaceful and secluded and was great for walking the dogs. A deepwater dock on the river was also a short stroll and a definite highlight for us. We love Kiawah and have visited before, however, this was our first time staying in Inlet Cove. We will definitely return. The cottage owner (Maggie) was friendly and very responsive to our questions.
Great place for family with or without pets
We recently stayed at this home and loved it! Quick access (5 minute walk) to private beach area and was very close to where dogs can run off leash. Very well stocked kitchen, clean rooms and friendly owners. Would recommend to anyone who love to have a very relaxing week and is just a quick bike ride to Fresh Fields too!! Your kids and dogs will thank you!

Additional information about rental rates
Reservation deposit is required to hold the reservation. Weekly rates are from Saturday to Saturday. Cleaning services are provided upon departure. Check in is 4:00 pm and check out is 10:00 am. The final balance is due one month prior to arrival. In the event of cancellation of the reservation, refund of the advanced deposit will be made only to the extent that another guest is found.
