We loved it as a family of five!
Wish we could have come a few weeks earlier as we were too late for most of the fall foliage! Home was excellently cleaned and fresh for the families arrival. The River’s Edge would be a summer haven for water lovers! Location was perfect for visiting Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls, and Bickle Knob Observation Tower.
Beautiful location! Cozy (yet roomy) cabin
This cabin is wonderfully appointed. Clean, comfortable and on a beautiful setting. The area has great outdoor activities, is full of history and has some great dining opportunities. We spent a quiet weekend for two, but would definitely make a great family getaway. The owner was very easy to communicate with and very helpful. Highly recommend a stay at The River’s Edge!
Beautifully quaint and tranquil
My girlfriends and I loved the stay and the ability to relax with all the modern conveniences in this cabin!
Although the river was up and moving fast most of our stay, we had a great time around the firepit, relaxing in the hottub, and bike riding. Close to lots of stuff like Seneca Rocks and the Wild West train ride in Durbin. Really like what has been done with the cabin since we stayed there 6 years ago...TV, interent, a wide variety of DVDs and VHS videos, the patio overlooking river, firepit...can't wait to return again!
I could live here!
Actually, I used to live in a cabin on the Tygrat River 20 years ago. This place was better. The amenities make it!
perfect for a relaxing stay on the river
A cozy, rustic, extra clean and well-appointed cabin, perfect for a relaxing stay on the river. River access couldn't be easier--wooden steps on the bank were convenient, solid, and easy to navigate. The property is reasonably secluded, with lots of options for lounging around outside, including a large table with an umbrella on the deck, chairs around a fire pit, a hot tub, a hammock, and a screened-in porch with plenty of seating. The cabin's interior is comfortable, and has lots of personality, and the kitchen has just about everything you could want to prepare meals. We took full advantage of the crock pot and the nifty wine opener, and also the washer and dryer. There is no AC on the second level, but the ceiling fans proved sufficient. The cabin was a bit challenging to find, as there is no sign or obvious mailbox on the road, but we recognized it from the photos here and appreciated that it has two entrances. The highlight of our trip was our white water rafting experience with Blackwater Outdoor adventures in Parson. This is a lovely place to stay, and Tiffany was terrific to deal with.
Nestled among the Appalachian Mountains, this historic log cabin is located at one of West Virginia's most pristine riverside locations.
