Beautiful log cabin - sleeps 8 - 2 bedrooms and large loft with 5 beds overlooking kitchen and living area - 1 bath. Large high windows allow lots of light and view of outdoors. Ceiling fans throughout the cabin. Cabin is set far enough off road to relax comfortably on the deck and read or sunbathe and it's protected from high winds that often blow on the island. Located close to town and restaurants, walking distance to Lake Michigan shoreline. Beautiful tranquil location to enjoy the peace and slow pace of island life. Large deck perfect for cookouts and star gazing - full kitchen, outdoor grill.
NOTE: Local room tax for Door County is included in nightly rate.

The house is beautiful and beautifully decorated! However, the drawers in the cabinets/dressers were filled with past occupants travel containers, combs, batteries; just plain JUNK! Everything was comfortable and convenient and we loved every moment of our stay. If only the TV worked, WiFi was available and we had been allowed to use the wood burning stove, it would have been perfect!

We attended the Write On literary festival a short distance away so we were busy all day and came home after the dinner hour. I think I may have used a toaster once. The cabin was cozy even as the temps. dipped into the 40s/50s at night. Loved the peace and quiet for sleep—better than living on Main St. in my city. It was a beautiful and relaxing stay.

Cozy cabin retreat

This cabin is the perfect place for an island vacation in the woods - clean, quiet, and convenient. We wish we could have stayed longer. Washington Island is a wonderful, hidden gem, and it is definitely worth it to visit Rock Island while you’re there.

The owners were wonderful to work with and responded to my questions quickly. The home is as described and is a wonderful way to truly experience life on the island. We enjoyed our stay. I would recommend riding the Cherry Train at the beginning of your stay to get a great overview of the island. We enjoyed hanging out with the locals at Fiddler's Creek as well.

Washington Island House

Lori and Dan's home is in a great location, private, well stocked and very comfortable. The Island has many attractions and great restaurants whether you want to get active outdoors or relax on the deck or beach. Everything is accessible by bike. The vibe is casual, relaxed and peaceful. This our our 2nd stay and we are looking forward to going again next year.

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful! We arrived to a clean, comfortable cabin (that would have comfortably held A LOT more than us!); stocked with essentials (beds made & ready, soap, TP, coffee filters, firewood & kindling next to the pit outside). I loved the location - away from main street hub-bub. You flexibility in allowing us to bring our puppy was SO much appreciated! Many thanks for providing an essential of a wonderful week!

Quiet peaceful area

Nice overall, however, outside property needs some cleaning up and deck railings need work. Having small kids we were very leary of them going near them. Inside cabin was beautiful. Well supplied in the kitchen area. We had a great experience on the island.

Very nice cabin layout. Two private bedrooms on first level and huge loft area upstairs. Positioned well on property for good privacy among the trees and enough sky view as well. Could maybe use another bathroom for more people staying, but all-in-all this is a great cabin!! Excellent communication with the owners and equally as good customer service as such. If you like Washington Island this cabin should certainly be a top pick for your stay there. We will be back again!!....... The Morgans

Great location

We enjoyed our stay. I do have a recommendation though. I find it a bit surprising that the rental provides “Linens” but no towels. I would recommend that it be disclosed on the rental page so it is visible rather than sending an email two days before your check-in. This could be a deal-breaker for some especially since towels can take up a lot of room in your luggage. As we all know when flying weight matters. However, I do like to add, that when we called the host, she did share where we can find some towels down in the basement. We ended up buying on our own instead.
