Location! Location! Location! Plaza Villas has everything you need for your desert escape. Two sparkling swimming pools, a hot tub and tennis court offer outdoor recreation within the complex. With its well-manicured grass lawns, mature citrus and palm trees, native plants hosting active birdlife, Plaza Villas is an oasis within an oasis.

Luxury and serenity await you in our unit which is privately situated in the southwest corner of Plaza Villas, just steps away from the pool (but far enough from the noise) and offers splendid views of both the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa Mountains. Completely renovated in 2014, this soothing and spacious, second-story, two-bedroom/two-bath unit features cathedral ceilings, a brand new kitchen, two balconies and modern, tasteful furnishings. (Please note – there are 18 stairs to the entrance of our unit.)

The guest bedroom, with its adjacent renovated bathroom and stall shower, has a sliding glass door to its own private balcony with table and chairs and an office nook with magnificent mountain views. Tucked in the rear, the spacious master bedroom enjoys a renovated en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower. Both bedrooms have pool views, queen-size beds, flat-screen televisions, wall-to-wall carpeting, full-sized closets with sliding mirrored doors and plenty of storage, and ceiling fans. Both bathrooms each have a beautiful granite vanity with additional storage.

The elegant living and dining areas, adjacent to the fully equipped cook’s kitchen, offer a relaxed, perfect space for quiet enjoyment or entertaining friends. A large sliding glass door opens to a balcony with a high-top table and stools to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views and soothing desert climate. This balcony also has a gas grill for outdoor cooking.

The kitchen features granite countertops, all new cabinetry and new appliances including stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Just off the kitchen, you will find your own laundry room with new, full-sized washer and dryer.

Spacious, private and relaxing – this striking unit offers you the sanctuary you are seeking. Wi-Fi, cable and unlimited calling within the USA and Canada are included – should you feel the desire to connect to the outside world. There is one dedicated, covered parking space available, just in case you find the need to have a car during your stay.

Plaza Villas is ideally situated between the Agua Caliente Spa Resort Casino and the Palm Springs Convention Centre. About Michael Feeney / Scott Swanson

Scott & Michael have been a couple since 2001, having met on a 3-day cruise from San Francisco to Vancouver. From the very first meeting, we realized we had similar outlooks on life, relationships and travel.

Scott is an LA-boy, growing up in the 50s in Orange County and in the 60s in the San Fernando Valley. Scott left the Golden State in the 70s, only to return a few years later after grad school in upstate New York. The beach, sun and hot weather have always been in his blood.

Michael was raised and educated in Montana, leaving the Big Sky Country behind after university. Growing up on the prairie and enduring scorching summers, it's seems natural that he would be attracted to the sun and hot weather. (Unnatural in that he is the only one in his extended family that can tolerate the year-round temps in Palm Springs.) Go figure.

Why Michael Feeney / Scott Swanson chose Palm Springs

Better yet, why Palm Springs? Many of us live in the cities we do because it's where we were born. Many of us live in the cities we do because work relocated us there. But for many in Palm Springs, this is neither where we were born, nor where work brought us. Rather, it's a city we discovered on our own, became seduced by, and made a conscious choice to move here for reasons more personal than professional.

Scott has been traveling to the desert since the 50s with his family. His father, an ex-football college player and WWII vet with a bum knee, would haul the family to Desert Hot Springs so he could soak in the soothing mineral springs and desert heat. Scott took Michael to Palm Springs over the 2003 New Year holiday - and Michael instantly fell for the desert.

Ten year later, we just happened upon an acquaintance whom we met in Tahoe summers earlier. We made plans to meet for breakfast. At breakfast a few days later, we learned this unit was going on the market after the "season" was over. The rest ... well, we are now the proud owners.

What makes this condo unique

A few things drew us instantly to the unit:

1. It is the only 6-unit building within the complex.

2. It's location in the building is quite private and very quiet.

3. It's proximity to the West Pool and Spa.

4. The views off the main terrace of both the Santa Rosa Mountains and the San Jacinto Mountains, providing a great vantage point to see "the witch".

5. Walking distance to everything we love and enjoy and about downtown Palm Springs.

We hope you find your own unique benefit from our comfortable and relaxing "oasis within an oasis".

Good location and immaculate

We were able to walk to all the restaurants and attractions in downtown Palm Springs. The condo is very well appointed and the kitchen is equipped for a real chef. The handyman responded promptly to minor problems (replacing ceiling light bulbs) and even gave us instructions on using the TV for us digitally-challenged. I would go again if I could find a tennis partner in the complex which has courts. On second thought, I would stay here with or without a tennis partner.

Location, Peaceful, Comfortable, Nice furnishings, Best stocked kitchen, Gorgeous grounds!!!

If you are looking for the perfect place this is it. Our party consisted of two couples and the two bedrooms were equally "master" so neither couple felt cheated. We each had a TV and there was one in the living room. The bathrooms and kitchen were recently redone with impeccable taste. We were amazed that the owners thought of everything when stocking the kitchen. We have been RCI owners for years and have stayed in many units and this rental gets an A+++. I should also mention the grounds have been beautifully landscaped and there are two pools, a hot tub and tennis court.

A very short walk takes you downtown with plenty of restaurants and shops. Try Sherman's, Greek Islands and Tropicale for good food. If you are willing to drive about an hour GO TO JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK. You can drive through in about an hour, longer if you take more pictures than we did. Don't miss this park, you will never forget it. It's fun to stop at Woo Doos for vinyl records on the way back to Palm Springs. I also recommend going to Sunnylands Center and Gardens which is free but you must buy early to tour the house. I was told tickets are released in the middle of the month. We were thrilled to see a road runner!

The owners are very responsive and helpful, nice people. We felt safe in this beautiful little town.

Where do you live?

Wonderful amenities and location!

We had a wonderful stay at this unit. The condo is very clean, quiet and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. The location is outstanding. We could easily walk downtown. It was also nice to have a heated pool, spa and tennis court. The owners provide very clear information on the condo and suggestions for the area. We definitely want to book this unit again!

Impeccable in almost all respects

Clean, well-furnished, well-managed, comfortable unit in a fantastic location with good views of the mountains and desert, and a mature clientele. Has everything one could ask for—except a salad spinner and a reliable parking gate remote. This is easily the best place we've stayed in Palm Springs. It's a little pricier than most, but worth it. Nice reception, with fresh orchids and Prosecco. Excellent internet and a completely furnished kitchen. Quiet and nicely furnished. Bravo!

Great Palm Springs Rental

This centrally located property has everything you will need for your stay. It is very well appointed, clean and roomy. The Casino is just across the street and downtown is a short walk away. The grounds are well looked after with two pools to choose from, a hot pool and tennis courts. The owners are very accommodating and respond to any requests almost immediately. I highly recommend this property.

Palm Springs property, quiet and within easy reach of downtown.

Lovely spacious apartment, very well equipped. Loved the sunny balcony partly looking out to the mountains. Walked to downtown every day or night. Lots of restaurants and things to see. We were there at a quiet time which suited us. Good pools.
