Beautiful views, clean, quiet & comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this property last week for my son's fall break from college. This was our first time staying in this area for this length of time, although we had traveled through and spent a couple of nights years ago. Dusty gave great directions to the house which was a different way than our GPS was telling us to go. But, her directions were easier to follow and the route was less winding. Her route became our preferred way to get back and forth. The house was very inviting and had everything we needed. Our son loved having his own space upstairs including his own bathroom....he was even able to get some study time in after we had gone to bed each night. The master bed & bath were good sized and perfect for my husband and me. The views from the windows of the house and front porch were simply beautiful...we couldn't take our eyes off of it. We did a lot of sightseeing in the area. The drive was about 30 minutes into Boone. My nephew is attending college at App State, and we were able to get together with him one afternoon. We visited the original Mast General store in Valle Crucis, Grandfather Mountain, and Blowing Rock. Saw the frescoes in West Jefferson, Glendale Springs, and Crossnore. We drove over to Abingdon, Virginia, and spent a day looking in antique shops. We even went up to Independence and Galax, Virginia, where my dad grew up. The house was very convenient to all of these areas. We ate at several good places around including Shatley Springs, Subas (in Mountain City, TN), the Pedalin' Pig, Local Lion (donuts), and the Stick Boy Bread Company and would recommend all of them. Dusty made us feel very welcomed and had items to cook for breakfast waiting when we arrived, along with fresh flowers and water bottles in the fridge. Those little extras make a difference. The communication was very good with her without being intrusive. There was more to do and see than we had time for this trip. We are looking forward to returning to this property again in the future.

Excellent experience!! Can't say enough good things about our stay.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I booked this house with another couple for a weekend ski vacation. Dusty was extremely helpful and made our stay enjoyable and completely painless. The efforts she and her husband made to ensure that our stay was comfortable were above and beyond anything I've ever experienced! The house was perfect for two couples and a comfortable 30 minutes from the beech mountain ski area. The pictures hardly do it justice. I can't say enough good things about the wonderful experience we had at this rental! Five stars and would definitely stay here again!

Cozy, relaxing, and a perfect get away location for a family vacation?

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this beautiful and cozy location. Had everything we needed and many extras...the owners even had surprised us with some eggs, local jelly, and bread. We loved the location which allowed us to visit two of the three Ski Resorts and was in easy distance to all three. Can't wait to come back!!

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The house was more than we hoped for, very clean, well organized, nicely decorated and set in a beautiful location. This a great location to spend some time laughing and playing games getting to know each other again. Just enough space to spread out a little, but still cozy, with WiFi for the internet addicted, yet plenty to do off your devices.

The views from the area and the surrounding mountains are worth the drive, easily. And at the end of the day you have the owners who make feel like they really care, they respond to questions, and seem to genuinely care about what they do, and you really feel like a guest in their home, not like someone passing thru.

This place is something special and the owners too, you feel it when you walk in the door. It’s the perfect place for family or couples with a few kids that need a little space and want stretch out, but don’t need or want a 5000 square foot McMansion-house.

This stop turned out to be one of the favorite things we all loved about this trip, getting to spend Thanksgiving here was a treat for sure. I hope the owners know that what they do is important, they are giving folks a chance to make some great memories, and God bless them for it, great work if you can get.

Relaxing And Quaint With Wonderful Hospitality

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful weekend we had in Jaime and Dusty's home. The home itself is nestled amongst some beautiful scenery and is just as pictured, very clean, very cozy, with all of the amenities of home. Dusty's hospitality was amazing from the time we reached out to inquire on a last minute booking, to communicating with us once we were booked, and then just checking in to make sure we had everything that we needed for our stay. It was so thoughtful to also find local made jelly with english muffins, fresh eggs in the fridge.

Boone is a short 15 minute drive and then Blowing Rock maybe another 15 minutes from Boone. It really is a wonderful location to visit all of the mountains towns near by or as they call it High Country. Take advantage of reading the local magazines that are on the coffee table. There is quite a bit to do during all of the seasons. In addition, Jaime and Dusty left a few recommendations on things to do and places to eat, closest gas stations and grocery stores etc. We gave Mike's BBQ a try in Mountain City based on their recommendation and it did not disappoint so if you're in the area definitely stop by.

The layout of the home is perfect for couples, couples/friends traveling together, or a small family. We can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was. Why stay in a hotel when you can stay in such a warm, inviting home with such wonderful hospitality.

We will definitely be back when visiting the mountains!
