Perfect property with outstanding owners who go above and beyond!!!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is nestled in a beautiful and quiet pastoral setting, which was perfect for a birthday getaway with my family. Dusty is such a helpful and gracious owner, who promptly kept in touch with me up until our arrival, as well as any other time we needed to communicate. We arrived late, so she already had the lights on to welcome us and help us see our way in the night. When we walked inside, a beautiful (and thoughtful) birthday cake was placed on the dining table as a surprise, and it brought us so much joy that we had to sit down immediately have a slice! There was also a bowl of Keurig coffee on the table, too, (which I love) and a sweet welcome card. The refrigerator was also stocked with a bowl of fresh local eggs, half and half, butter, and six bottles of water. There were also some fresh English muffins and some delicious local jam, which I barely shared because it was so tasty! The kitchen was completely stocked with everything one could desire, and there were full-sized appliances, too. The living room had a large TV, comfy couch, and was stocked with books, games, magazines, and an assortment of helpful local visitors' brochures. The bathrooms were meticulously clean, spacious, and had full-sized shampoo/conditioner, hand soap, shower gel, and lotion, as well as travel soaps. There were plenty of towels, great water pressure, and quick water temperature. The master bedroom downstairs had a large private bathroom, and the bed was luxurious with lovely linens and bedding. The huge upstairs area has a king-sized bed, a day bed, a writing desk, and several sitting areas. There are several entertaining items for kids and teens, such as a large TV, a huge drawer full of DVDs, books, toys, balls, bats, rackets, etc. which my son appreciated. We used the heat in the cottage because it was cold out, and it worked well for both the upstairs and downstairs. This property was even better than expected (even saw two cute bunnies hopping in the back yard), but the best part about staying here are the thoughtful owners. Dusty and Jaime made us feel like more than just tenants visiting for the weekend--they treated us as if we were their own family, and that we were "at home" while we were there. The personal touches and surprises left by the owner were the highlight of our experience. Absolutely no detail had been overlooked. The highest compliment I can give is to say that we will return--and it cannot be soon enough!

Beautifully cared for adorable cottage

I couldn't be more pleased with the house. Plenty of space and lots of little extras that the owner made available for my family. The park right down the road from the house was a huge hit with my kids. All the area attractions are within a 20 minute drive. Dusty was a pleasure to deal with!

Beautiful quiet community

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed every minute of our stay here. We will definitely be coming back. Dusty was so helpful before and during our stay. We brought our 7 month old and Dusty provided a pack and play, high chair, and a baby gate. The house had plenty of books and toys for our son too. Great place to stay we can't wait to visit again soon!!

Great hosts

  • 5 of 5

This little house was perfect for our group. Our family booked this house last minute for one night following an Appalachian football game. After a 20 minute ride, up some winding roads in the dark (glad I wasn't driving) we arrived at this cozy house. There were 5 adults, a 16 year old, and a 1 year old. I brought our dinner with us and found everything I needed for serving. It was a little crowded, the table only seats 4, but it was casual and family so it didn't matter that some had to sit at the coffee table.

The downstairs bath is spacious and the bedroom has a chair and a king sized bed. Upstairs has a standard sized bathroom, but the bedroom space is generous. There was enough room to separate the trundle from the single bed and still have room for a pack and play. Although the queen sized bed is also in the open space it was separated by the center stairway with the bathroom at the head of the stairs. Works well for a family with children.

The best part though, is Dusty herself! She provided a pack and play and high chair. She checked on us before and during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. The beds were made, the kitchen well equipped, and the space pristine. Such a cute home. I don't know if you should expect it, but she left coffee for the kuerig, tea, sugar, and sweetener on the counter for us. She left fresh eggs (from the farm down the street), bagels, and half and half for breakfast. When we woke up, there was morning frost on the lawn of a pastoral view and cows nearby.

We will return next year when we go to see our nephew play football at Appalachian! Thanks Dusty, for a most enjoyable stay! Wish we could have stayed longer.
