About James Taylor

My wife and I live in Woodleaf NC, right outside of Salisbury. We have two grown children-Adam and wife Lauren and my daughter Brooke. Lauren and Adam have blessed us with our wonderful granddaughter -Abby who is three.

James Taylor purchased this cabin in 2000

Why James Taylor chose Blue Ridge Mountains

We just couldn't resist buying this little 'heaven on earth' cozy river cabin. It's so peaceful as if you are in another world and your stress and cares just seem to drift away. Great places to walk, close to Valle Crucis Park, Mast Store, and just ten minutes from downtown Boone. Valley is so peaceful with deer in the front and back yard around the apple tree being a common sight.

What makes this cabin unique

You are promised to have rest and relaxation in one of the rockers on the front porch looking at the peaceful river or the lovely nearby mountains. Watching the birds, and squirrels play in the yard and God's majestic views in the valley.

My wife and I needed a get-away weekend and stayed in this cabin. We had a wonderful, wonderful weekend. We drove in on Friday night, had dinner at a nice steakhouse in Boone, then arrived at the cabin after dark. No issues at all. It is beautifully decorated, very comfortable, rustic and very quiet. We had breakfast on the back porch Saturday morning, visited several shops and sites in the afternoon, and came back late afternoon in time for me to walk down to the river (right in the back yard) to do a little fly fishing while my wife sat in a comfy chair in the back yard, watched me fish and read a book. Sunday morning I woke early to make breakfast and it was raining. I opened the doors to the porch and enjoyed the soothing sound of the rain and the river. What a great weekend in a beautiful, relaxing setting. We look forward to our next trip to this cabin. Thanks so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home.

The cabin is beautiful and the location is wonderful! We really enjoyed ourselves! Our boys had a blast on the river and the cabin had all the amenities of home! There was more than enough room for our family of 5! The area is beautiful and the locals were very friendly!

This cabin has everything you could possibly need. It is meticulously kept, very comfortable, just the right amount of everything. Our family enjoyed a beautiful Christmas together and plan to return next year. The owners even had it decorated for Christmas. SPECIAL!!!

Restful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent a week at Cozy River and enjoyed every minute. we spent time sitting on the porch reading, drinking coffee and just chilling. The cabin is immaculate and the owner was so easy to work with, even calling when we arrived to see if we needed anything. The cabin had everything we needed, a great kitchen, new master bath and plenty of rockers and comfy furniture.

Boone is just close enough for eating out and shopping, but far enough from traffic, etc. There is a great restaurant (Over Yonder) about 5 minutes away with wonderful food.

We are already working on 2 weeks in September.
