A rare find! This 5-bedroom/4 bath townhome with attached guest quarters.
Truly the best of two worlds, luxury and comfort combine seamlessly in this custom high-end, 5-bedroom 4-bath, 2-level, penthouse & second-story gem. From the moment you enter and step beyond the skylight-bright and unique atrium-foyer, you cannot help but exclaim over the spacious, well-appointed and inviting world that awaits your special getaway.
This very large, bicoastal beauty combines an upscale, east coast waterfront-aesthetic with casual, comfortable living in the west coast style. With its panoramic ocean views, incredible spaciousness, sophisticated & upscale-yet-comfy amenities, and so much more, this is a property like no other in Mission Beach!
Recent renovations involved the unique and very successful combination of what had originally been 2 separate condominiums into one unbelievable, 2-story home, which is perfect for multiple or extended families.
The main living spaces occupy the 3rd floor penthouse, which also includes three of the bedrooms and two of the baths, the master bath having been featured in a 2011 Kitchen and Bath Ideas magazine article shortly after the property was completely renovated.
With an oceanfront living room that comfortably seats ten, and with plenty of deep-seating around a gaslit-stone fire pit/coffee table on its oceanfront balcony, the penthouse level is sure to captivate every member of your party in the kind of warm, casually-elegant embrace that can only result in vacation memories to last a life-time.
Perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing with family and friends, the large, skylit chef’s kitchen and its huge center island with bar seating and adjacent, balcony-front dining room, are sure to become a favorite gathering spot for all. Whether enjoying a meal prepared with the Wolf professional 6-burner range, Dacor microwave oven, and more, or simply toasting another great day together in Mission Beach, the open floor plan with its sweeping ocean views ensures plenty of space for gathering together in relaxed comfort and style.
Designer touches abound in the spacious master suite, with its double-door entry, king bed, floor-to-ceiling windows capturing ocean views and breezes and embracing a cozy sitting area for two, balcony, custom built-in cabinetry, large TV and media center. Relax in the sitting area, or truly indulge yourself in the magazine-featured master bath, with its deep soaking tub that rests in a windowed alcove overlooking the beach, and so much more. Offering the luxuries of a hotel combined with the comforts home, it truly doesn’t get any better than this!
Another world awaits as you descend the interior staircase to the 2nd floor “pirate suite”, so named for its playful designer touches, reminiscent of old wooden sailing ships and characters of a bygone era. But high-end features and amenities continue to unfold here as well, as you move into the oceanfront living spaces with private balcony, large ocean view sitting room with pop-up TV cabinet, raised dining with view for 6, and adjacent kitchenette, where you’ll find a Wolf 2-burner cooktop, Gaggenau oven, Jenn-Air microwave and SubZero undercounter fridge/freezer.
Private spaces on this floor include a second master suite and an additional bedroom and bath. As in the penthouse, the master bath on this floor was also featured in Bed and Bath Ideas magazine, and both bathrooms on this floor also include spacious walk-in showers with multiple sprayer options, heated towel racks and heated floors. The second bedroom includes a daybed with trundle.
With its own private entrance and stand-alone amenities, the pirate suite is the perfect adjunct solution for larger gatherings of family or close friends.
Each floor has its own laundry facilities, and convenient parking for 3 cars is divided between a 1-car tandem garage and a 2-car tandem parking pad.
Both floors of this one-of-a-kind vacation rental boast top of the line amenities and creature comforts throughout, including:

Stunning!!! A beautiful place on a beautiful beach!
Wow, what a lovely home!!! My family of 11 stayed and we had a great 5 days! The decor is amazing, the flow is awesome, the location can’t be beat and Rebecca is top notch!! We all talked about making this a every two year trip (my family lives in TX, TN, OH, and PA) and renting this house again. It’s stocked with pretty much everything you need from kitchen to cruisers to boogie boards. And 4 parking spots is a huge bonus.
Highly recommended VRBO!
Our family of 7 had an incredible experience. Location is perfect. Within 10 miles of San Diego airport and 6 miles of Old Town Transit Center. We took the Amtrak Pacific Liner to Los Angeles one day. Property has all the amenities one could ask for. You can watch your children playing on the beach through the floor to ceiling windows in the living and dining rooms.
BEST STAY WE HAVE HAD!!
What a phenomenal property! We brought our parents to San Diego to celebrate their 40th anniversary and it was truly memorable, with the property being the centerpiece to our stay. We will be back next year. Keep in mind we are travelers and have seen the good and the not so much. This home shocked us in an amazing way.
The location was perfect. Having not been to San Diego before we were curious as to the beach traffic and crowding. However, this property feels like the only property on the beach, but we were 15 minutes from everything in San Diego, the zoo, hundreds of restaurants, whale watching, shopping and yet private and secluded. We didn’t know that was possible. It’s been a week and I can still hear the ocean. There are properties that say they are on the beach, but they offer scant views through small windows, this property is absolutely on the beach with full and incredible views of the ocean through floor to ceiling windows. Sitting on the 2nd and 3rd stories (penthouse) it is like you are on the ocean. The property is located in the middle of Mission Beach and it has a wonderful quiet atmosphere at night, almost like you are on a private beach.
The property is spacious and still warm. Comfortable beds and great linens, with so many extra pillows, blankets, and towels. Everything you need and more. The bathrooms are beyond words. We decided to cook and took advantage of the homes 3 ovens, Wolf range, and huge island in order to do so. All 7 of us were able to sit together in different areas of the home. The furnishings were better than all of the hotel villas we looked at.
We used Prime Now for 2 hour delivery of everything from Sprouts to Keg N Bottle to over 100 restaurants. Due to the location of the house we received deliveries in less than 40 minutes. When we walked to local restaurants (Olive Cafe and 99 Cups) we experienced Cali cuisine and awesome service.
There are so many amazing elements to the home and area, but there isn’t enough space to list. The home has a Control4 automation system, heated floors in the bathrooms, wonderful lighting in every room and every space. This house can be all things to all groups.
On top of it all, Rebecca is truly wonderful. She was responsive from the moment we chose the home. She is attentive to every detail and in communication without being overbearing. She has style and grace, and she literally can be seen in this beautiful place.
We’ll be back.
This is our 3rd time to vacation at Mission Beach and we loved it. Rebecca, the manager was great to work with. Communicated very well and met us at the house on day 1 to make sure we got settled in. The house is really great. The pics on VRBO are good but being there exceeded my expectations. Lots of room to spread out and be able to relax. The 2nd floor is where we spent all of our family time. This area which contains the main kitchen, dining, living and outdoor patio makes you feel very connected to the beach because the views are so good. The patio with gas fire pit is great at night. Kitchen has high end appliances and is well stocked. Location is about as good as it gets as the house sits evenly along the boardwalk between between Belmont and the pier. All parking in MB can be crazy but this place was pretty good. Nice garage, well stocked with beach toys and bikes was a great plus. There is also a side parking area in case you have guests stop by. We would definitely consider renting this home again. More great memories made.
This beautiful home located directly on N Mission Beach is well appointed, comfy and cozy!
This beach gem is loaded with upgrades throughout the home. The kitchen is equipped with all you need and the furniture is comfortable. Rebecca, the property manager was extremely friendly and helpful. We look forward to renting this property again 💕.
A beautiful home with plenty of extras.
Many homes are nicely furnished with a good location. What sets this home apart is all of the extras. The kitchen has every extra – toaster, blender, mixer, coffee maker, nice wine glasses, margarita glasses, serving pieces, etc. All the beach equipment you could want including a wagon, spikeball, paddle ball, corn hole, surf boards, sand toys, chairs, umbrellas and bikes. The home has a whole house entertainment system with music players and a full range of channels and the ability to record shows. Many of the household supplies you need are also provided including very nice toiletries, dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry supplies, etc. It’s so nice to not have to spend time and money getting beach supplies and household supplies.
A few things other things to know. As many other reviewers have said this is a good home for families. It is located in the middle of Mission Beach which is the quietest area. The environment on both ends of Mission Beach is much more crowed and caters to more of a party atmosphere. Also, our group included two small children (1 and 3 yrs old). It was very nice that the interior stairwell that connects the two floors has a door on both floors.
I would definitely recommend this place.
While some may compare San Diego’s Mission Beach to the East Coast’s Atlantic City and Coney Island, there is a unique Southern California vibe you can’t find anywhere else here. Nestled between Pacific Beach on the north side, and Belmont Park on its southern side, Mission Beach offers a lively and robust variety of activities in the sun, surf and sand. From great coffee spots and bakeries to fine dining eateries, Mission Bay yacht club as well as the Mission Beach aquatic center , there's plenty to do without getting in your car! Most of all, the 6 mile boardwalk is fun for walking and biking and let's you enjoy all that Mission beach has to offer!
