About Brenda Sansom

Owners Tom and Brenda Sansom have lived in Lake Quinault since 1975, graduated from Lake Quinault High School and raised a family of three daughters who also all graduated from Lake Quinault High School. Our love for this wonderful place generated from generations of both sides of the family who also lived, schooled and raised families here. With our love for nature, the great outdoors and wildlife, Lake Quinault fulfills all our activity needs. Our greatest joy is to be fortunate enough to share this spectacular vacation area with people from all over the world by providing accommodations for our location visitors. Our four year old grandson says that this is the best place in the whole world!

Brenda Sansom purchased this house in 2005

Why Brenda Sansom chose Lake Quinault

We first purchased this home to have a place to access the lake and have a close to home vacation spot for ourselves. We soon realized that we needed to share with the world.

What makes this house unique

Available property to buy on Lake Quinault has always been scarce due to the boundaries of Olympic National Park, US Forest Service and Tribal land. We owned the home next to Cottage Cove and had been operating as a vacation home for 14 years before the purchase of Cottage Cove. We had established a successful business with many request for additional accommodations so our guest can bring larger groups. When this home came up for sale, the previous owners gave us first option to buy! We were lucky to have the opportunity and very grateful!

Amazing property, you won't be able to find a better place in the lake.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for four days and fell in love with the cabin. It is somewhat secluded off a dead end road, steps from the lake and a short trip to many hiking trails. What a wonderful experience!

Nice View

  • 2 of 5

Nice view of Lake Quinault, is the best part of this property. Bedrooms are small and not well ventilated.

Property manager was not responsive unless there was money too be made. A physical address nor driving directions to the property were not provided with the check-in instructions. We just had to use the very vague map on the listing and driving around the area until we found the property.

This was after requesting driving directions or a physical address for the property from the property management by email and two phone calls that were never returned

We wanted to cook salmon on the outdoor gas grill provided to keep from heating up the house. It was unusually warm during our stay, but the igniter on the grill would not work. We replaced the battery, but still no luck. We then cooked inside with the very sensitive smoke alarm. The smoke alarm went off anytime we cooked anything from toast to salmon.

Not a very happy camper!

Tranquil Beauty

  • 4 of 5

Absolutely loved our stay. The kitchen items (pots, pans, etc) along with basics left (baking soda, sugar, etc) are in desperate need of replacement.

A small wall shelf next to bed in first upstairs bedroom would be nice as well. However, the tranquil beauty cannot be beat. We so enjoyed sitting by the fire with the water running by. Just breathtaking!!

Great Thanksgiving Home Base!

  • 5 of 5

This lakeside cabin was a lovely setting for a family long weekend. The lake is a few steps from the back porch, the cabin is set in a quiet forest -- so silent while you sleep, and everything was very clean.
