About Mike and Janice Pryor
After I got married, Mike and I purchased a lot in the Columbine Lake subdivision, just a few minutes from Grand Lake. In 2008, we built our custom home, hoping we could retire there. We designed the home with features I've always wanted: Large kitchen granite countertops, wood burning fireplace, hardwood floors, knotty alder custom cabinets and bathrooms for every bedroom. The Town of Grand Lake is still as charming as I remember and I know you will enjoy it as much as we have. Growing up in Colorado meant long weekends in the state's mountains. My parents often bundled my three brothers and me into the family's Suburban and headed to Grand Lake for days of exploration. We fished Lake Granby from my dad's 10-foot aluminum boat, hoping for a bite and crossing our fingers that the motor would start again. After a day on the water, we'd head into the Town of Grand Lake for a round of miniature golf and an ice cream treat. As a kid, I loved the town's old west feel. I wanted to spend as much time there as possible. Not much has changed in Grand Lake since my childhood. The town is still as charming as I remember, and I still want to spend as much time there as possible. After my husband Mike and I married, we bought a lot in the Columbine Lake subdivision. We designed our dream home from the ground up with hardwood floors, a wood-burning fireplace, a large kitchen, and a bathroom for every bedroom so I wouldn't have to share with my brothers when they came to stay with us. We completed construction in 2008, and we hope to live there after we retire. Until that time, we know you will enjoy our cabin and the nostalgic feel of the area as much as we do.

Why Mike and Janice Pryor chose Grand Lake
Grand Lake is a hidden treasure. It is nestled at the ntrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. Our subdivision of Columbine Lake is a friendly community of quaint cabins surrounding a 45-acre natural lake. Our cabin's back porch is the perfect place for viewing the abundant local wildlife including deer, moose, elk and fox. There's always plenty to do! There are hiking trails, mountain bike terrain, and world-class fishing on the area's lakes and rivers. Take a drive in the alpine tundra above timberline. Have a beer at the historic Grand Lake Lodge. Enjoy a guided pontoon boat tour of Grand Lake. Explore the area on an ATV or on horseback. Winter is a magical time in Grand Lake. There are miles of snowmobile, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails.
What makes this Cabin unique
We call it our 'cabin' but it is really a 2,340 square foot luxury home with modern construction and comfort. The custom touches include high-end finishes like include knotty alder cabinetry, granite countertops, slate tile and stainless steel appliances. The 550 square foot kitchen is fully stocked. A large stone fireplace surrounded by rocking chairs sits on one side of the great room and comfy leather couches around a large-screen television is on the other. Choose from two covered decks or a covered porch to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and the mountain views.

My friends and I had a perfect trip. The house was beautiful inside and out and the location was amazing. I will be back for sure!!
Wow! Can't wait to return to this cabin!
Best hosts: Quick, communicative, accommodating, generous.
Superb location: Views of Columbine lake and mountains (lake across street). Minutes to town, golf course and at entrance of RMNP.
Cabin: Fun layout, high-end finishes, great leather furniture, beautiful stocked fireplace and everything a chef needs in the kitchen. Very good beds and steam shower. EXCELLENT value for the rental fee.
Having stayed at 7 or 8 Grand Lake properties over the years, this is our favorite. Thank you so very much and can't wait to get back in summer!
Lovely place to stay
We felt right at home! We loved the comforts and the attention to detail. Can’t wait to come back!
Incredible house! Love staying here!
The home/cabin is very comfortable, we enjoyed our stay very much. After long days of snowmobiling, tubing, fishing, hiking and exploring it was so nice to come back and relax in this inviting home. We cooked many of our meals in the wonderful kitchen, we enjoyed playing games and reading in front of the wood burning fireplace. We also watched movies on the large screen TV before hitting the sack. We will be back this summer for more fun.
Great House! Great Location!!
The house is not your usual rental house. This looks and feels like a beautifully appointed home. The front of the house is across the street from the shores of Columbine Lake. Beautiful views of the mountains from the back porch. We visited during the first week of March to snowmobile. The house is SO conviently located to the snowmobile rental, town, and gorgeous scenery everywhere. Janice and Mike, the owners could not have been more accommodating. They were very helpful with all the information we needed prior to the trip for planning purposes. We could not have asked for a better situation. We will definitely be back!!!
