About Rebekah Wilson

We (Dan and Rebekah) were raised in the Kansas flatlands, but we each vacationed in Colorado while growing up. We finally made the leap to the high country 6 years ago, and we have taken full advantage of this giant playground ever since our move.

Dan and Rebekah currently live in Windsor, located in northeast Colorado. Dan works with the University of Colorado Health System, and Rebekah retired from employment with this health system two years ago. She currently enjoys her work with a number of civic organizations, as well as master gardening, welding, and other hobbies.

Dan and Rebekah enjoy every aspect of this wonderful Colorado environment. They are avid fly-fishermen, hunters, hikers, and general outdoorsmen.

The couple enjoys a sizable amount of time in the mountains. Dan completed his due-diligence in investigating options for a mountain home. We wanted a location that would appeal to all ages, all year round, and we wanted activities that involved mountains, water, wildlife, and a community atmosphere. After looking at dozens of options, we found that Grand Lake met all of our needs.

Rebekah Wilson purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Rebekah Wilson chose Grand Lake

We spend a sizable amount of time in the mountains. Dan completed his due-diligence in investigating options for a mountain home. We wanted a location that would appeal to all ages, all year round, and we wanted activities that involved mountains, water, wildlife, and a community. We have several children, and this location and property provides a central location for family members to walk or ride bikes to nearly every amenity within Grand Lake.

What makes this cabin unique

One look at this rustic cabin would help anyone understand why we purchased this home. It is nestled within aspen trees in a peaceful neighborhood - and it is within walking distance of downtown, Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park.

This cabin has history - several Grand Lake locals have lived in this cabin over the past 80 years, including a previous Grand Lake mayor. It's knotty-pine

interior and quaint fireplace looks like a Norman Rockwell painting.

We purchased this cabin, as well as the cabin next door, as they belonged together in a 'Jack and Jill' cottage setting. Some of our family and friends have enjoyed using both cabins to have family gatherings.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This cabin was absolutely wonderful! My boyfriend and I rented it for one night to celebrate his birthday and it was perfect. The location is close to town and also only a few miles from Rocky Mountain National Park which makes exploring so easy! It was so great to come back to the cozy cabin after hiking around the park. Rebekah is the most wonderful and helpful host! We arrived to the cabin to find some snacks and a birthday card! Through the entire reservation process she was extremely attentive and kind. Her cabin made for one of the most relaxing trips and I highly recommend checking it out! We hope to go back in the summer!

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

I really enjoyed staying in the cabin. It was a nice walk into town. We enjoyed the fireplace, and the direct television with HBO! The bed was comfortable, and the place was very cozy. Just the right size for two people and a pet. Thank you!

Wonderful getaway!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was exactly what we expected...cozy, warm, and private. We arrived early and Rebekah let us check in earlier than the regular time, which helped us tremendously after an early flight and drive in from Denver. Everything we needed was here; towels, dishes, shampoo/ conditioner. The only issue we had was with the layout of the bathroom. My boyfriend is 6'4" and struggled with the small space. Otherwise, we enjoyed this place very much and had an amazing one year anniversary.

Very nice cabin in Grand Lake.

  • 5 of 5

As advertised, the cabin was very convenient to RMNP and the city of Grand Lake. It was only about 15 minutes to the Park and a few minutes by car to town. Walking to town from the cabin was a short walk also. The cabin is comfortable with a full kitchen, sitting area and bathroom. Overall we were very happy with the accommodations.

Great Anniversary trip!

  • 4 of 5

This cozy cabin was located close to Grand Lake and within walking distance to local shops and restaurants. After a long day of shopping and sight seeing you just want to go back to relax but you can't because of the seating situation. The only thing that I would change is the chairs in the living room area. One of them you couldn't sit in because it was so uncomfortable and the other one was okay. All I could do is sit in the bed while my husband sat in the decent chair. The bathroom was a little small. When you sit down to do your business you have to sit at an angle or your knees will hit the tub. Oh and one of the patio chairs was broken also. Other than those 3 things everything else worked out great. Very clean. Appliances are in working order. Great water pressure in the shower. Local restaurants were great. We had a great time spending our 23rd anniversary at Grand Lake!

Cute Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a cute and comfortable cabin from the olden days. We have stayed in various places in Grand Lake since 1974 and this ranks right at the top for price and ambiance. If the TV doesn't work, call Dan and he'll walk you through it! Would suggest instructions be included in the hand-book. Also, instructions for the heat might be helpful.

Grand Lake, Colorado, is a gorgeous village surrounded on three sides by mountains. Multiple lakes, including Grand Lake (largest natural lake in CO), Shadow Mountain Lake, and Lake Granby (second largest body of water in CO) are all sheltered among the mountains. This combination of mountains and lakes offers year-round entertainment for visitors.

This 1940's cabin is nestled in a peaceful neighborhood in the midst of Grand Lake village. Visitors can enjoy nearly all Grand Lake amenities within walking distance! Horse-back riding, snowmobiling over the Continental Divide, fishing (including winter ice-fishing), shopping, swimming, boating, hiking, a fantastic repertory theatre, and good restaurants are all within blocks of this quaint cabin.

A short drive or horseback ride allows hunters easy access to National Forest. Cross-country skiing on miles of groomed paths is located at the Nordic ski center, approximately 3 miles from the cabin. This same short drive provides access to beautiful scenic golfing in the warmer weather. Downhill skiers can enjoy the smaller, family-oriented amenities at Granby Ranch (15 miles), or a larger variety of downhill options at Winter Park (30 miles). A wonderful repertory theatre provides a variety of live shows nightly in the summertime.

On a typical evening, enjoy a beverage while seated on a giant porch swing at the Grand Lake Lodge looking out at a stunning view of the mountains, lakes, and village, enjoy an evening of bowling and homemade pizza at Grand Lakes Bowling, or just enjoy the quiet solitude of this peaceful cabin in the village.

Moose, deer, fox, bear, and other animals have wandered through this cabin's neighborhood, and a walk or drive into Rocky Mountain National Park at dusk will normally yield many elk and moose sightings.
