About Rebekah Wilson

We (Dan and Rebekah) were raised in the Kansas flatlands, but we each vacationed in Colorado while growing up. We finally made the leap to the high country 6 years ago, and we have taken full advantage of this giant playground ever since our move.

Dan and Rebekah currently live in Windsor, located in northeast Colorado. Dan works with the University of Colorado Health System, and Rebekah retired from employment with this health system two years ago. She currently enjoys her work with a number of civic organizations, as well as master gardening, welding, and other hobbies.

Dan and Rebekah enjoy every aspect of this wonderful Colorado environment. They are avid fly-fishermen, hunters, hikers, and general outdoorsmen.

The couple enjoys a sizable amount of time in the mountains. Dan completed his due-diligence in investigating options for a mountain home. We wanted a location that would appeal to all ages, all year round, and we wanted activities that involved mountains, water, wildlife, and a community atmosphere. After looking at dozens of options, we found that Grand Lake met all of our needs.

Rebekah Wilson purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Rebekah Wilson chose Northwest

We spend a sizable amount of time in the mountains. Dan completed his due-diligence in investigating options for a mountain home. We wanted a location that would appeal to all ages, all year round, and we wanted activities that involved mountains, water, wildlife, and a community. We have several children, and this location and property provides a central location for family members to walk or ride bikes to nearly every amenity within Grand Lake.

What makes this cabin unique

One look at this rustic cabin would help anyone understand why we purchased this home. It is nestled within aspen trees in a peaceful neighborhood - and it is within walking distance of downtown, Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park.

This cabin has history - several Grand Lake locals have lived in this cabin over the past 80 years, including a previous Grand Lake mayor. It's knotty-pine

interior and quaint fireplace looks like a Norman Rockwell painting.

We purchased this cabin, as well as the cabin next door, as they belonged together in a 'Jack and Jill' cottage setting. Some of our family and friends have enjoyed using both cabins to have family gatherings.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This cabin was absolutely wonderful! My boyfriend and I rented it for one night to celebrate his birthday and it was perfect. The location is close to town and also only a few miles from Rocky Mountain National Park which makes exploring so easy! It was so great to come back to the cozy cabin after hiking around the park. Rebekah is the most wonderful and helpful host! We arrived to the cabin to find some snacks and a birthday card! Through the entire reservation process she was extremely attentive and kind. Her cabin made for one of the most relaxing trips and I highly recommend checking it out! We hope to go back in the summer!

Cozy Little Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! The cabin is in a perfect spot in relation to the town of Grand Lake. There are so many fun shops and great restaurants in town. It felt like our very own cozy little home.

Christmas at home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I decided to do a last minute trip. This was our first year being away from family during the holidays. The owner, Rebekah, was very nice and courteous. We arrived a little early and the cabin was not yet cleaned from the previous occupants so we called Rebekah and she responded quickly and summoned the cleaners to come right away even before our check-in time!

The cabin itself is a perfect couples getaway. Has all the basic amenities you may need. The gas fireplace made a very nice cozy touch while it snowed in Grand Lake. Only recommendation I would add is to provide more towels & maybe upgrade the bath tub in the future. Overall I highly recommend this little quaint cabin. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely come back to visit again (maybe summer this time)!

Delightful, cozy cabin in a beautiful winter wonderland

  • 5 of 5

We decided to skip the traditional Thanksgiving and Black Friday activities in Lincoln, NE and came to Grand Lake instead and it was, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful getaways the two of us have had. Rebekah provided us with excellent guidance before and upon arrival. The property itself is very clean and well-maintained and comes with everything you might need. We had no problem preparing a Thanksgiving meal for the two of us. We both slept very well as the cabin is so incredibly quiet and peaceful. The fireplace added a perfect touch for some of the chillier days and nights. Nearby, we got to explore Adams Falls, which is just stunning in the snow, and on our last day, we made one last stop to the lake (which was just a quick walk away) to be greeted by a beautiful cloud enveloping the lake and the nearby houses in such a picturesque way. It was a perfect stay for us and if you are a fan of gorgeous scenery and peacefulness, this place is a must-see. We would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the cabin and its location. We were disappointed that the fireplace did not seem to be working.

Grand Lake, Colorado, is a gorgeous village surrounded on three sides by mountains. Multiple lakes, including Grand Lake (largest natural lake in CO), Shadow Mountain Lake, and Lake Granby (second largest body of water in CO) are all sheltered among the mountains. This combination of mountains and lakes offers year-round entertainment for visitors.

This 1940's cabin is nestled in a peaceful neighborhood in the midst of Grand Lake village. Visitors can enjoy nearly all Grand Lake amenities within walking distance! Horse-back riding, snowmobiling over the Continental Divide, fishing (including winter ice-fishing), shopping, swimming, boating, hiking, a fantastic repertory theatre, and good restaurants are all within blocks of this quaint cabin.

A short drive or horseback ride allows hunters easy access to National Forest. Cross-country skiing on miles of groomed paths is located at the Nordic ski center, approximately 3 miles from the cabin. This same short drive provides access to beautiful scenic golfing in the warmer weather. Downhill skiers can enjoy the smaller, family-oriented amenities at Granby Ranch (15 miles), or a larger variety of downhill options at Winter Park (30 miles). A wonderful repertory theatre provides a variety of live shows nightly in the summertime.

On a typical evening, enjoy a beverage while seated on a giant porch swing at the Grand Lake Lodge looking out at a stunning view of the mountains, lakes, and village, enjoy an evening of bowling and homemade pizza at Grand Lakes Bowling, or just enjoy the quiet solitude of this peaceful cabin in the village.

Moose, deer, fox, bear, and other animals have wandered through this cabin's neighborhood, and a walk or drive into Rocky Mountain National Park at dusk will normally yield many elk and moose sightings.
