Sugar Pine Lodge - From $250 a Night-This Home Has It All! Hot Tub!

Bedrooms 3
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 5 nights

About the property

Gorgeous 3 BEDRM/3.5 BA Cabin with Hot Tub, Game Room, Full Bar, Media Room and Amazing Views.

Sugar Pine Lodge. This magnificent mountain retreat is nestled in the deep woods just 25 minutes from Breckenridge. It is a great area to stay because you can still ski and stay in a secluded luxurious home instead of a noisy condominium with traffic jams. You can still dine, shop, and enjoy the entertainment in Breckenridge as it is only 25 minutes away. The home is totally secluded and surrounded by woods but yet is only 5 minutes from Highway 9. The views of the mountains are breath-taking. The white-capped Mountains are visible from the great room, dining room, upper deck, lower porch, and the recreation room. The home is decorated tastefully with cabin decor. It looks like it is straight out of Log Homes Illustrated Magazine. It has all the modern amenities but is surrounded by natural beauty. It's far enough away from the crowd to be secluded and private but close enough to get to skiing, sites, restaurants, supplies, etc. nearby.

The spacious living room has seating for 8-10 and has a cozy wood-burning fireplace. There are two master suites and three full baths. The master suite and bath on the main level has a private bath and a huge walk-in closet. The other master suite upstairs has a king bed and flat screen TV. Both Baths are huge with 2 sinks and a tub/shower combination with beautiful custom slate. There is also a loft with a cozy reading room just down the hall from the upstairs master suite. Downstairs there is a large recreation room with an electric stove, a library, a flat screen TV, and lots of games. There is a separate room with a poker table, a full size wet bar, and two bunk beds where the kiddos or the adults can hang out. The gorgeous bar has everything you will need for entertaining or just relaxing while watching a movie on the big screen TV in the adjoining recreation room. Both rooms are beautifully decorated and the sofa is a sleeper sofa with an 8" mattress so it is very comfortable. There is a new huge hot tub on the deck with amazing views! Relax after a day of skiing or hiking!

In winter, (4 wheel drive is recommended), there's Breckenridge world class skiing within 25 minutes. Numerous other ski venues (Copper Mtn., Keystone, Vail, Monarch, Ski Cooper) are within another 1/2 an hour. Other winter activities nearby include cross country skiing, snow-mobiling. During the summer, there's white water rafting, hiking, ATV trails, biking, fishing, hunting, and camping. You can relax and just enjoy the natural beauty or head out to the nearby towns/resorts/parks, and enjoy the unlimited winter and summer activities the area has to offer.

In the summer you will be in the center of all activities including old mine ruins, Montgomery Reservoir, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Bross, Mt. Quandry and many more. Fairplay (just 10 miles away) is the activity center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and is often referred to as the Base Camp for all activities some of which include hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, ice climbing, fishing, hunting, rafting, 4-wheeling, ATVing, mine exploring, canoeing, kayaking, and much much more. Alma is only 5 minutes away and offers dining, shopping, and entrances to some of the most beautiful drives in Colorado such as Kite Lake, Bristlecone Pines, and Mosquito Pass, and the trailheads to many of the famous 14-ers.

If you can think of an outdoor activity, you will probably find it within 10-20 minutes of the cabin. It is a great home to call your "Base Camp".

This is a beautiful home to spend any season of the year. The access is easy and 4-wheel drive is not a in the summer but is recommended in the winter months. Breckenridge is only 30 minutes away and the road is always kept open. It is an absolutely beautiful drive with very little traffic. If you come in on I-70 you can literally spend hours going 20 miles from the highway to Breckenridge so this is a fabulous option for those wanting to ski.

Why Susan Bigham chose Valley of the Sun

We are an outgoing family of four that absolutely LOVES the outdoors. Originally from Utah, we love the mountains and all the activities that come with it year round. We have spent time all over the world and found ourselves wanting to spend more time back amongst the trees, enjoying the fresh air and allowing our kids to experience nature. Our daughter asked us if she could see snow on Christmas, so this sparked our interest in finding the right property in the right location. That led us to the Sugar Pine lodge, where we instantly fell in love with the views, the serenity, and the proximity to so many activities. We were instantly sold—with the wrap around views, the fireplace, and the comfort of enjoying our trips to Colorado in an amazing home. We live and work in Texas so having this home away from home is such a treat for us and we expect it will be for years to come.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We just want to say thank you we had a wonderful week at Moose Haven, we loved the cabin it is beautiful and really cozy, it is well maintained and has everything you need! Sorry we couldn't stop and meet you but there are so many things to see and so little time.

Best Regards,

The Jaramillo-Cisneros Family!

Wonderful Place!

I already want to go back. The rental process for this house is a little more in depth than other properties I have stayed out, but I completely understand why as this is a beautiful and well maintained home. The house is gorgeous and the pictures don't do it justice! There is so much space with the additional downstairs area, and a great kitchen for cooking with all of the necessities. The views are breathtaking from all areas of the house. We stayed three nights and went to Breckenridge two of the days - it is an easy drive. The owners were very responsive - provided their cell number upon payment and answered questions very timely.

**Word of advice - if going in the winter, take the advice about getting a 4 wheel drive vehicle. It had snowed and continued to snow while we were there and getting in and out of the driveway and around on the mountains would have been difficult without 4 wheel drive. I already can't wait to go back. Wonderful experience.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We really appreciate it. I am glad you had a good time and I hope you can come back soon. Summer is a wonderful time to visit. The property is gorgeous then as well. There is no snow - only wildflowers so I am sure you would enjoy that. Thank you again.

Very nice cabin! Enjoyed our stay very much!

Only thing.. On the website it says 25 MINUTES from Breckenridge. As it may be 25 MILES, it took us 50 minutes to get to town. We were expecting to be a little closer to town! Thank you for providing a nice romantic get away for us :)

Owner's Response: Thank you so much. We appreciate your review. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry it took so long to get to Breckenridge. It is so dependent on road conditions and also the traffic. It is always a beautiful drive though. One nice thing is that the road is always open over the pass because it is an emergency escape route. The traffic on Highway 9 is also a welcome relief from the I-70 rush too. Thank you again!
