About the property

Charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin in pristine setting! 5 minutes to Gondola

The Powder Pad is a charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin nestled against the wetlands of the Goose Pasture Tarn, 3 miles south of Breckenridge. This one of a kind cabin is extremely secluded and backs to hundreds of acres of wetlands and national forest. What makes this cabin so special is the ponds and streams right out of the back door. You will experience the benefits of being in an extremely private setting - yet still being in such close proximity to Breckenridge.

In addition to the 2 bedrooms, the cabin has a loft with a Queen size murphy bed. The cabin sleeps up to 6 people - via 3 Queen size beds.

After a fun day of skiing, the hot tub will be just the ticket to warm you up. You will find this to be an ultra private hot tub experience in the most serene and private setting underneath the stars.

The Powder Pad's kitchen is stocked with all of the amenenties you may need: crockpot, pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, etc.

The living room features a flatscreen Samsung smart TV and a wood burning stove. We stock the cabin with firewood for our guests. There is nothing better than curling up in front of the fire after a day of mountain fun.

There is so much to do in all of the seasons:

In the winter months, in addition to skiing and snowboarding, you can cross country ski or snow shoe right out the back door. There are many hiking trails near the Powder Pad.

In the summer months, you and your guests will enjoy 3 decks off of the cabin that add to the living space. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the upper back deck, listening to Spruce Creek that runs right through the back yard. The beautiful ponds off of the back of the cabin boast beavers and fish. Grab a fishing pole and take a walk through 'Moose on the Loose' trail right out of the back of the cabin. Convening around the fire pit in the evening with s'mores is the perfect way to end a summer mountain day.

In the Fall, the whole scene around the cabin explodes with shades of gold. The intimate view of the famous Boreas Pass is yours to take in from either of the back decks.

There has been many wildlife spotted from the Powder Pad including our local Moose, Beaver, Deer, Great Blue Heron, Hummingbirds, Osprey, and Geese. All observed from the back deck of the Powder Pad. What will you see when you stay???

If there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable, please let us know.

Why Shawn and Kate chose Summit County Colorado

We were looking for a property that was close to Breckenridge, yet private and serene. We have found this getaway as a huge blessing when we need a breather from the daily grind. Shawn's favorite season is Winter time and Kate's is the Summer. The Powder Pad is so enjoyable in any season.

What makes this cabin unique

We love the summer time at the Powder Pad because of it's private setting and water features. There is nothing better than falling asleep in the mountains with the sound of a stream to lower your stress level.

We are sure you will fall in love with our charming cabin, just as much as we have.

Breathtakingly beautiful!!

What a wonderful place to get a way to. Everything was just as described and we had absolutely no issues what so ever! I wondered about the driveway situation because that seemed to be an issue for many rentals, there was no problem. The driveway and garage are easy to get in and out of. Also had questions about Wifi, it was available and worked beautifully! Thanks again! We didn't want to leave!!!!!

Amazing cabin with wonderful mountain views.

  • 5 of 5

Shawn and Kate are fantastic owners who have curated and maintained a wonderful cabin. There is so much attention to detail from towels designated for the hottub to framed pictures to little elements such as a bear head bottle opener by the hottub. The linens and bedding were first rate as was the kitchen. You can cook anything, they literally have everything you need.

The cabin is no more than 5 minutes to Breck's Main St. I bought crepes at "Crepes a la Carte" and drove them back still hot! (Be prepared to wait to get a crepe though, I waited 45min but it's sooo worth it)

I highly recommend the powder pad!! 6 stars if I could.

perfect mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

We cannot say anything negative about the powder pad; great location (only minutes from Breckenridge but very quiet and secluded); equipped with everything you need; very clean; owners are very helpful and responsive; the hot tub after an entire day of skiing definitely also is a big plus. Certainly, would like to come back some time

Beautiful secluded cabin with everything you could ask for.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is fantastic! Secluded but still close to Breck, Keystone. All the amenities you could want with a large hot tub & a heated padded walkway! Beds were high quality linens and towels were thick and plush...even had big towels for the hot tub. The kitchen was large & had all the cookware thst was needed including an outdoor grill.

The owners were so accommodating and were available for any questions we had before our trip.

Just Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was absolutely perfect, very charming and done with great taste. The views were breathtaking. we loved sitting in the hot tub every morning and night and just gazing up the mountains. The Aspens had changed colors which made the views even more gorgeous. Just a short drive into Breckenridge. We could not have been happier! The best 3 days of our whole vacation/honeymoon.
