About the property

NOTE: We are almost fully booked from May 14 to September 17, 2017. Only 3 nights remain, May 29 arrival June 1 checkout. If you are looking for dates in this range, please check out the property at www.vrbo.com/912235. Thank you!

Beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath cabin with a sleeping loft (futon couch). Pooches welcome. If the temperature is agreeable they can enjoy one of the ONLY fenced yards on Beech Mountain. Humans can enjoy our rustic bocce court and HUGE layered deck with multiple seating/dining areas and gas grill. The house is on a paved road and has a level entry. No stairs required other than a step down from the parking area. This is an entirely non-smoking property both inside and out (in the yard or on the deck).

The house has everything you need to enjoy a ski trip or a summer stay -- wireless internet, all linens, dishes, and toiletries. Cable TV and blu-ray in the main living area, TV with smart blu-ray in the master bedroom, and TV with Roku in the loft.

Close to it all:

Beech Mountain Club (pool, clay tennis, golf, clubhouse dining). Member/Guest privileges are available at a small additional cost (all user fees can be found at http://beechmountainclub.org/guest-information/)

6 minutes to the slopes or Beech Mountain Club tennis courts

10 minutes to Fred's (if they don't have it, you don't need it.)

2 minutes to the driving range

5 to the Beech Mountain Club and beautiful golf course

1-5 minutes to Miles and Miles of Beech Mountain trails with ratings from easy to moderate and strenuous. There is always a trail map at the cabin.

Just 1 mile to the Beech Mountian Recreation Center. For just a couple dollars a day enjoy all that the center has to offer: indoor/outdoor tennis (ball machine), weight room, volleyball, basketball and take advantage of their many classes such as yoga.

30 minutes to Grandfather Mountain. If you have never been this is a must. Day or season passes are available allowing you access to trails and THE most spectacular views in the high country.

45 minutes to Linville Falls. More great trails but this time with views of gorgeous mountain falls. If you go to Linville Falls, you must stop at the Linville River Mercantile for the best desserts you will ever have.

20 and 30 minutes to two fabulous High country wineries.

45 minutes to Watauga lake. You will be surprised at how reasonable it is to rent a boat (speed or pontoon) for the day. If you are here in the summer, this is a must! Boat all day surrounded by majestic mountains and national forest. We are glad to share our favorite marina and food tips.

1.20 hours to the Virginia Creeper Trail. Also a must! Bike 17 miles (all downhill). Take your time and enjoy several passes over the Appalachian Trail and explore an old rail stop, bridges, and stop for ice cream. We would be glad to share a couple of our favorite bike rental companies. It is worth a couple bucks to get shuttled to the top.

The owners are proud to consider themselves an all-season family. We would love to answer any questions you have about Beech Mountian. The Mr. was President of the Beech Mountian ski team and the Mrs. loses herself every weekend (any season) on tens of miles of mountain trail runs. There is not an inch of this awesome mountain that we have not explored. We highly recommend ski lessons! We would love to help you with tips on renting skis and would love to help you book private or group lessons. Do not expect to just walk up and get lessons during Holiday weeks!

Why Brian Granger chose Beech Mountain

We purchased this house as a year round getaway. We live in North Carolina, and the property is close to one of the owner's homes in East Tennessee. It is a truly wonderful place already full of so many memories. We've not rented it before, but as our children get a little older, we find ourselves getting up a little bit less. So, we are making this retreat available to you!

Amazing cabin in a beautiful setting!!! Spectacular stay for the whole family.

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing place. We stayed here for the Easter holiday. 4 adults, 3 kids, and a dog. The place was immaculate. Very clean, well maintained, kitchen fully equipped, bathrooms great size, beds very comfortable. The cabin is breathtaking. The backyard view is stunning. We loved having a fenced yard which allowed us to enjoy the yard with our dog. The kids really enjoyed the swing and having daily campfires. The deck in the back is very spacious and it was amazing having our meals outside surrounded by nature. The cabin location is great. Very close to the Rec.Center, which we thoroughly enjoyed (the playground, tennis, kayaking, and canoeing). The trail accessible from the Rec.Center was amazing. Such beautiful falls, we got some great pictures and memories to last a lifetime. The kids and the adults alike really enjoyed the air hockey table and all the board games that are available in the cabin. We are surely to come back for another visit. Can't wait to return to see the beauty in the winter. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Will definitely recommend Paws and Relax to all my friends and family!!!

Pawesome!

  • 5 of 5

Paws and Relax was perfect. Everything we could've needed was there and the location was great. From the view off the deck to the comfortable bed, even the pots and pans were wonderful! I've rented several places that I wished I'd have brought my own and I did this year and didn't need them. The fenced in yard was a treat for my Puggle, she loved exploring her beagle heart out. Thank you Brian for everything and for sharing your Beech Mountain home, I hope to return next year 🍂🍁🍃

Awesome place for hikers and dogs

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay last week. The yard was good for the dogs, and it seemed like all the neighbors also had dogs so it was a very dog friendly neighborhood in general. The owner provided an excellent guide to the house and mountain prior to our stay. We've stayed on Beech numerous times but have never rented a house in this particular location (off Pine Ridge Road). It was so close to everything! The clubhouse and golf course are just a couple minutes away, and the Rec Center is maybe a mile from the house. You can use the Rec Center gym for just $3 per day and it was surprisingly well equipped for a community gym. We took the dogs to the RC every morning to walk them on the path, and we let them chase a ball in the fenced-in baseball field if no other dogs were around. Several of the Beach Mountain trails are very close to the house, so it's a great location for hikers. Wild Iris trail is just down the street and was a perfect short hike for our older dog, while Grassy Gap near the Rec Center was a more challenging and fun trail for our younger more nimble dog. We normally stay closer to the slopes when we come up in winter, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here if you come to ski. The road is good and it's an easy drive to the resort. If you get a chance say hello to Don and Tenna and their dog Zeb across the street. They are lovely people and Don is happy to show off the amazing 3-state view they have from their deck. He's a character. This house does not have a view but we really enjoyed sitting on the deck among the trees and listening to the leaves fall. It's a beautiful time to be on the mountain with the leaves turning, and it's quiet this time of year because the resort is closed between Labor Day and mid-October. We hardly saw anyone else on the trails. I'll definitely come this time next year to escape the Florida heat, and I would not hesitate to rent this house again if we have the dogs with us. Enjoy your stay!

Wow! What a perfect place for a vacation! House was great and in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

My favorite place to go to get away from the craziness of South Florida is Beech Mountain! This place was the perfect choice! Beautiful house and the fact that I could bring my dog made it even better. Everything you need to have a great vacation was there! The house is fully loaded with everything you possibly need! The house was ready when we arrived the book with the house information and brochures of things to do was very helpful. I do plan on booking again for next years vacation!
