About Anne or Rick

I acquired this property because of my love for the adirondacks. I started a business here in 1988 and have never wanted to leave. I hike, hunt, fish, ski, snowshoe or mountain bike daily. The best vacation is right here at home

Wonderful retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a week, just my wife, son and I. (well, and our puppy).

We spent the day doing day hikes, wondering around Lake Placid and just relaxing in the hot tub enjoying the outdoors.

The house was cozy, welcoming, very clean and well kept.

I would highly recommend it!

Perfect winter vacation

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I traveled internationally for a winter / ski vacation . The property has all the amenities we needed for just over a week stay .we drove up from jfk airport in only 4 hours with a scenic drive the whole way . We went skiing at whiteface ( we ended up having a week of great conditions) we drove to Vermont for a day and also ended up staying in montreal for a night . What a great location to get around .

The property itself is a warm and cozy cottage. My boyfriend is a chef and we had all the tools and appliances we needed to cook every night .

Anne and Rick made sure we had everything we needed to make our week in Wilmington the best it could be .

Thanks for everything !

Great place to stay for base of activities in the area!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place to stay as a base for my wife and myself's activities.

What I liked about the place; - gas stove, large kitchen with all the amenities we needed. Frying pans and utensils were all good, which is rare with some of the rentals we've used before. The Hot tub was a big bonus after a days activities, which I was not expecting I'd be using because of the warm weather but with it set at the proper temperature it was great. Queen bed in one of the bedrooms was just what I needed. Bathroom was newly remodeled with easy to use shower controls. There were plenty of other niceties in the back yard as well, gas grill, patio set, deck with chairs, and the river down the bank beyond the back yard!

The only thing that could be improved upon as is with most places we've stayed at is the lack of shelf space in the bathroom. There never seems to be enough shelving to put all of our toiletries on, so we staged one of the kitchen counter chairs in there to provide a surface for our stuff.

All in all, very happy with the place, location was perfect for both myself and my wife, since I am the more active one, I was able to take the car to get to hikes while my wife was able to find plenty of things to do in town and surrounding area that was well within walking distance of the rental. I would not hesitate in booking this again in the future!

Perfect house! Clean, comfortable, and great location!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family's short stay was nothing less than perfect. The house is everything that it is described as and more! The location is convenient and the house is well-equipped and beautifully decorated. We felt at home the moment we walked through the door. If we have the pleasure of returning to Wilmington again, this will be our house of choice. Love, love, love your home!
