About Camille Jasmin

We are both transplants from Massachusetts over 30 years ago. We met after we came back from college, one from University of Miami, the other from Penn State. We now live in work in Southern California, but enjoy an escape to Mammoth whenever possible.

Camille Jasmin purchased this condo in 2012

Why Camille Jasmin chose Mammoth Lakes

We have been going to Mammoth as renters for over 30 years. It was primarily for skiing. Now that we own a place there, we have learned that this area is great year round. Also, having grown up on the east coast, we didn't realize that there was anything but icy conditions. Here in CA, we really got spoiled with the great ski conditions, even during the not so good snow years. We look forward to our escape from Southern California up to Mammoth as often as we can. We've decorated it to be comfortable for us, so we hope our guests appreciate the thought put into the big and little things.

What makes this condo unique

We took a couple of years of research to find the right place for ourselves, and hope our guests enjoy the condo for some of the same reasons. This particular complex, La Residence IV, provided the perfect balance of convenience, yet not the congestion of places like the Village. You can walk to the shopping, movies or Vons, just a block away. You can get the bus right outside the parking lot and be on the mountain in minutes. You don't have to schlep your stuff down an endless hallway. It has nice amenities available per the season, and always has the spa to relax at the end of the day. It is also south facing, so you can enjoy the sun streaming in all day long. There are lovely pine trees to give the privacy from the surroundings. We've also met some great neighbors in the complex and the manager is friendly and available for needs that come up.

Comfortable condo, we leave spices, coffee and convenience items to make your kitchen usage more enjoyable. There are a handful of videos for your viewing pleasure. A block away from Von's Shopping Center, movie theater, and restaurants. We've enjoyed walking there time to time. During the ski season, the bus stop to the right and across the street picks you up and takes you to Eagle Lodge. Later in the season, this route may not be running, so always check with the transit company. I keep a bus schedule in the white binder, which should be on the coffee table.

Very nice small condo, plenty roomy for 4

  • 5 of 5

Nicely appointed condo with every basic you need. Plenty warm with auto setting on living room wall heater. Very conveniently located to town. Comfortable beds and living room furniture, with large flat screen TV and music. Would stay here again.

Loved all the spices and pantry items- made cooking dinner in so easy. The bus stop to eagle was well located and the hot tub a short walk away, would stay here again easily!

Overall great condo

  • 4 of 5

We had a very comfortable stay here! The beds were comfy and the kitchen had all we needed to prepare meals. The pellet stove did not seem as cozy as a wood burning or gas stove.

Cozy and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely long weekend at this spacious and well-appointed condo. My family of 4 (two children --6 and 10) had a great time. The girls loved sleeping upstairs in the loft area (and periodically peeking down to us in the living room below). Having a pull out bed in the upstairs loft mitigated any complaints of "She kicked me" or "she stole all the covers," but still allowed them to share a room. The kitchen was well set up-- nothing fancy-- but exactly what we needed. For health and allergy reasons we don't like to do too many restaurants, so the condo's kitchen, grill and proximity to the grocery store were crucial. The place is so central to everything. As far as suggestions-- the pellet stove is still a bit of a challenge to figure out (despite the pretty clear instructions). Additions to the place...Maybe a tissue box or two in the bathroom and a hairdryer. Typically I air dry my hair at home but cold weather and no hairdrier meant I had to plan my hair washing when I'd be inside for awhile -- future guests-- maybe just pack your own! The owner provided good customer service-- good and quick communication throughout.

Owner's Response: Thank you for you great review and feedback. Sorry you couldn’t find the hair dryer, it is there as I used it yesterday. Unfortunately people put things away in different places so you have to check drawers and under the sink. As for the pellet stove or any other problem, we want people to know they can call us with any problems, and we can walk you through. We added the electronic thermostat, however, the burn pot needs periodic cleaning to operate at its best. Regards, Camille

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Camille for the great stay- we had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, 2 full bathrooms, and plenty of seating. We go to Mammoth at least once a year and have stayed at a bunch of places about this size/price range. This condo had more seating than typical and the full 2nd bathroom. The pellet stove was a little tricky and we had to call Camille to understand how it worked- she promptly answered her phone and explained what we needed to know (great customer service, thank you!). Some things are a little dated (appliances, etc) but still work fine so it didn't bother us. Recommended!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and our accommodations. We've added easy instructions in case anyone else has questions about the pellet stove, which really heats the place up great! The appliances - range, vent and microwave are all newer. We are looking to do a upgrade of other parts of the kitchen this year!

OK for the money.

  • 3 of 5

Basically, condo is older unit with some flooring upgrades. Cleanliness average-fan vents in bathrooms need to be cleaned. Lot of kitchen utensils and cooking equipment just make you feel like you were in a run down rental unit. One big issue was 10:00 am check out time-really necessary?

Owner's Response: Yup, it is an older condo, newer ones typically charge 50% more per night. We continue to improve the condo, much of the living room furniture is newer, and we added surround sound since your visit. Thanks for the heads up on the vents, we'll make sure to clean them later this month when we are there. I'm not sure how lots of cooking equipment makes it appear run down. We periodically replace pots. pans and utensils, as they do get used (and sometimes abused). 10:00a.m. check-out is pretty standard, especially because often there is a another renter coming in that afternoon and the cleaning crew needs a window of time to get it clean, which was the case here. If there is not another renter scheduled that afternoon, I can let you stay later. I always find it interesting that some people rate a property lower even though they acknowledge that it reflects the value of what they paid.
