10/10 - Can't recommend highly enough. Property was amazing -- as advertised. Views are breathtaking and cabin had every amenity that we could ask for. We especially enjoyed the holiday decorations, which were perfect for the holiday season. This is our fourth stay in the area and we would definitely recommend both the cabin and the hosts. ALMOST HEAVEN is the spot!
This is the second time we have stayed here and it feels like home. It is cozy, comfortable and clean. Views are absolutely amazing. Will be saying again next year.
We have stayed here several times before, summer to beat the heat (10 degrees cooler than other areas of NC or TN) and fall for the beautiful mountain colors. Hosts are always receptive and accomodating, Cabin is well stocked and very clean, many extra amenities that make it feel like home. Plenty of space to relax and enjoy.
Somw.of the most beautiful views of any cabin we have ever stayed at. I loved the fun steep drive up the mountain running next to a stream. Cabin was very nice and no amenities were spared. We are going to make this our go to spot to stay for smoky mountain trips.
We had the most amazing spring break week! The cabin is beautiful! The views from the deck are amazing! We hope to come back next year for spring break!
Truly amazing views from this property it was exactly what we were looking for. Mini adventure driving to the cabin may turn some people off but it is worth it. Would not hesitate to book this cabin in the future.
Property was beautiful and was at the top of a mountain. Had great views and everything needed was provided atvthe cabin. Bit of a drive to get to entertainment and restaurants, but the cabin made it a great getaway. Hosts were very quick to respond. Would definitely reccommend.
A beautiful cabin with a magnificent view of the mountains. The cabin was outfitted with everything we needed, comfortable beds, plenty of towels, fully stocked kitchen. The views of the mountains from the 3-sided porch were exactly what we were looking for.
We had such beautiful views from this cabin! Although the incoming weather made it hard to see these views most of the time we were there, being as high up as we were, we were in the clouds! Cabin was clean and decorated nicely. Owners were responsive with some very small issues. Drive up to the cabin was a little precarious, we drove our 4 wheel drive truck and was fine. But worth the views!
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin very much. It is so peaceful. The location is great, close enough to go on adventures, but the cabin is also great for just having a lazy day to do puzzles, play games and enjoy time together as a family. The cabin had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We spent a lot of time on the porch enjoying the views. The kids enjoyed playing pool and cornhole very much. The hot tub is great, too! Highly recommend! There was more than enough room for the 5 of us.
This property was beautiful, We enjoyed mornings on the porch with the most incredible views. Plenty of space for our family to spread out. The tub was not working but otherwise we had no problems during our stay. Would definitely recommend!
We stayed here for our annual Polar Express family vacation. The cabin was magical. Plenty of room and the Christmas decor added the extra sense of home to our stay. Highly recommend!
Almost Heaven is an incredibly spacious and beautifully decorated cabin! The owners have thought of everything down to the smallest details. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and found everything we needed and more in this cabin.
We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! It was super clean, cozy, and just the right balance of remote and accessible—felt like we were tucked away in the mountains, but still close enough to town when we needed to make a grocery run or go out to eat. The pool table was a huge hit, and the hot tub was spotless and perfect for unwinding at night. Our 6-year-old was in heaven with all the toys provided he actually put down his tablet and played with actual toys. And, somehow, the Wi-Fi was fast enough to keep our teenagers from complaining.Just peace, mountains, and a whole lot of fun. We'd come back in a heartbeat!
The name of this property is spot on, The views are amazing and the house is beautiful. The kitchen has everything you need and the mattress was very comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoors as well and took advantage of the fire pit and gas fire pit. Perfect place to stay to get some R &R.
Peace on earth … I enjoyed my Christmas stay … it was everything I hoped for… thanks Joy

About the host
Hosted by David and Joy Nifong
We have been married for 26 years and have three sons and a daughter we adopted from Ukraine orphanage at age 9. We have always loved visiting the Smoky Mountains. Over the years we have grown to love the quiet and cheerful town of Bryson City. This has been a dream of ours to own a cabin and we are thrilled to now be property owners of such a beautiful, custom built cabin.
Why they chose this property
Semi secluded and on top of the world!!!!! The other 2 neighboring cabins are not close but barely visible (especially summer months).
What makes this property unique
Enjoy the views from our cabin on the 3 large covered porches. On the porch you will find an outdoor stone, gas fireplace with dining table. A large hanging swing and plenty of rocking chairs to relax and take in the view. Inside are 4 spacious bedrooms accommodating up to 6 with 2-4 small children OR 8 adults. A large soaking tub in the master bath, a pool table, a hot tub for 6 people. There are 6 flat screen TV's with Direct TV and DVR. At our cabin you will enjoy the peace and quiet of remote living. While enjoying the benefits of the luxury living. The cabin sits 20-30 minutes outside of Bryson City in a small, quaint community named Alarka. Inside Bryson City you can enjoy shopping, a small theatre, local dining and of course The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. The cabin is also near the Fontana Lake where you will find water recreational activities. The Nantahala Outdoor Center and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park where you can hike and view the elk.
