Why Charlie Ball chose Sandy Mush
Whisper Mountain is one of the most beautiful properties that they found, with bold creeks, peace and quiet. It is a true escape
What makes this House unique
We love hiking the endless trail system at Whisper Mountain. Much of it follows Whisper Creek. We spend alot of time on the porches of this home.

Stunning View and Beautiful Cabin
This is a beautiful cabin in a great secluded, gated community. The views from the outside patio are stunning. The house has comfortable beds and the kitchen is fully stocked with just about everything you'll need to cook great meals. The property is about a 35 min drive to Asheville, but for the privacy and view it is completely worth the short drive.
One of our best experiences
The house is immaculate, spacious, very well equipped and everything looks new. It is a beautiful property with gorgeous views of the mountains and also the city. Very relaxing and quiet. The owners were reachable at all times even at midnight when we arrived and had a hard time finding the house. I spent 10 hours online looking at houses to rent on both VRBO and Airbnb because we are selective, and this property truly exceeded expectations.
We had a tremendous stay- House was gorgeous and just wonderful. We will be back!
Loved Asheville and hiking part of the Appalachian trail, soaking in hot springs & mostly waking up and enjoying coffee on the gorgeous deck of this home. Dinners cooked in the well stocked kitchen & nights spent hanging out around the fire pit—so many great memories made. Thank you!
This house is stunning! We could not have asked for a better experience. The hosts were very responsive before we even got there and once we were there everything was perfect. We will definitely stay here again.... Without a doubt. If you're looking for stunning views, a beautiful and spacious house, and everything you could possibly need for the perfect mountain vacation you can stop looking... You've found it.
WOW!!! TRULY AMAZING!!
Stop looking at the rentals sights and wondering what house to rent - simply rent this one. You will not be disappointed. It was spectacular. The views were breathtaking and when the sun comes up over the mountains and the mist is in the valley, words can't describe the view. At night the stars were as bright as can be and during our two night stay, we saw several shooting stars. Now let's talk about the house - absolutely perfect. The clever layout and comfortable furniture made for a very peaceful stay. I have already begun to plan our next trip back.
The photos on the website don't do this property justice, not by a long shot. We wanted privacy and to feel we had escaped to the mountains. Nestled among tall trees, and with a breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the house offers total privacy, is spotless, and beautifully appointed. Our three adult couples each had their own suite with bedroom and full bathroom. Everyone got much needed rest and relaxation in the open floor plan that allowed for quiet conversing, browsing on the internet, playing group games, or interacting with the foodies while meals were prepared. We were able to turn out some delicious cuisine in the modern, well equipped kitchen. The deck is huge and has several very comfortable seating options including a large table. Sitting quietly, the only outside sounds are songbirds, assorted small wildlife, and the wind in the trees. At night we stepped out from under cover to take in a stargazing experience that is a rare delight for city dwellers. We did enjoy some of the local hiking, river rafting, and breweries that the Asheville area is known for. The well stocked grocery store and nicer restaurants are 20-30 minutes away. The property owners were easy to work with and contact by internet and phone. They provided a simple rental agreement and accepted a check by mail for the deposit and rent. The home is located in a luxury mountain development. Enter through a keypad--controlled gate and then travel up a steep and curving paved road to the house at the top. We got just what we were looking for--a place where we could rest, connect with each other, and have plenty of opportunities for memorable activities.
Located 19 miles from downtown Asheville, close to the Biltmore Estate, acclaimed restaurants, breweries, distilleries, art and music.
