This is a fabulous summer or winter home, situated on a nicely wooded corner lot four blocks from the center of downtown Aspen and is ideal for families or couples. A short walk gets you to the music tent, ski lifts, hiking trails, the great restaurants and shopping that Aspen has to offer.
On our main floor is a well appointed open kitchen/dining room with fire place, cozy sitting nook, and bedroom with a queen bed and private bath. The second floor consists of a comfortable living room with a wrap-around deck and great views of Aspen Mountain. The second floor has two bedrooms - one with twin beds and one with a queen bed with a half bath in between - plus another full bath. The third floor is a spacious sleeping loft with one queen and two twin beds.
Nice English antiques, new, plush, comfortable beds, and a well stocked kitchen will add to your summer or winter vacation.
My husband, son and daughter in law and our two 10 yr old grandchildren recently spent 5 days in your lovely home. Out the front door we walked and explored downtown Aspen, we were able to walk to stores and restaurants, and most importantly, we were able to walk to, and immediately be in nature, on the Rio Grande Trail and the Hunter Creek Trail, a short walk from the house. Also, we took short drives to Ashcroft, Maroon Bells and the beautiful American Lake Trail, all of which we enjoyed exploring. Your home is comfortable and inviting - the 3 levels gave all of us our share of "alone time" to read, nap or just gaze out the window at the aspen trees. The main floor with the combo of dining room, a fireplace w/ sitting area and kitchen was especially nice for us to socialize and recap the day!
This house was wonderful for our family of 5. The kids could each have their own bed in the upstairs sleeping loft, and the adults could spread out on the middle level. (The kids asked to go back next year, which is not something that often happens.) The kitchen is modern, and incredibly well-equipped. The heat is effective; we were never cold. The location is central, with bus transportation to downtown and ski resorts for when we were too lazy to walk a few blocks (which happened more often than we care to admit). There were many nice touches, and the owner is very nice and accommodating. Highly recommended.
This is the 2nd year that my family and I have stayed at this wonderful house for the winter holidays! It is located close to town and easily accessible to everything you might need from restaurants, grocery stores, to the mountain itself. The house is incredibly cozy and offers a great large kitchen for cooking and hanging out all together. All of the bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, as are the communal spaces, and it is the perfect place for a family who all have different schedules and needs. The owners are wonderful, easy to get in touch with, and incredibly helpful. We really love staying here and think of it as a home away from home. Can't recommend this house enough!
Our three adult children and their spouses joined us for week-long summer getaway. This house was just right for us -- walking distance to restaurants, the gondola and the Music Tent. The house is just as it is billed -- comfortable, not fancy, with two living/common areas, a second-floor deck for reading or chatting, and a kitchen that was well-stocked with cooking utensils and spices. The neighborhood is quiet, and the house is shady and cool in the summer. The owner was responsive to all our questions or concerns. The laundry came in handy, and the parking space was a nice perk. Recommended for any group that is looking for a homey stay in a comfy house without a lot of bells and whistles.
This beautiful homes offers a quite country setting in the heart of Aspen. Easy access to everything. We truly enjoyed this home offering a open kitchen with fireplace and large dining table for family meals. The great home is nestled among the tall and beautiful spruce trees. The owners were awesome to work with ... Our family will most definitely revisit this home on our next family vacation to Aspen... It is a true home away from home... The Gahring's
Each year I rent this house for business purposes and we absolutely love it. I've taken several different clients to this house and they all rave how nice the house is, how comfortable it is, and how close it is to the town square in Aspen (just two blocks). All rooms are spacious and accommodating, and the best part is the kitchen. There is a great deck on the second floor as well. We love to sit around and cook each night. The property owner is very attentive and we look forward to renting this every year. We love this gem of a house and think it's one of the best kept secrets to find in Aspen.
I loved being able to walk to the lifts after seeing my car snowed in. Did not really want to shovel before hitting the slopes. And walking to the restaurants, shops and nightlife was a huge plus. The home is warm and friendly with enough seperation that you can enjoy sleeping while others in your party are still out on the town.
Loved the cozy fireplace. Home has a nostalgic feel. Would go back again.
Nice hiking trail one block from the house. House is located between two parks.
