Amber, so glad you enjoyed your stay! Hope you and your family will return. So glad you got to experience the "glitter" (frost) on the grass the morning you checked out.
There was enough room for us all (7 people; 5 adults) to sprawl out and feel comfortable. Host was very friendly and attentive. Very comfortable arrangement that we didn't take full advantage of because we traveled to the surrounding areas every day. Pool was closed for winter, but we enjoyed the deck anyways. Very clean and well-stocked with basic amenities (towels, soap, shampoo, etc.)
Great place to stay.
Very peaceful and private. Plenty of room.
We wIll definitely stay here again.
Loved it.

We hope you will visit us again and bring your grandkids!
This is our second time staying here. Perfect location between Townsend, Maryville and the Tail of the Dragon. The pool and views make this house. Amy is a great host and we’ll definitely be back.
We had such a nice stay with our extended family at this property. And the views are spectacular! We had plenty of room to spread out, but also had a large gathering area for all to visit, eat and play games together. Kitchen was well equipped for use.
Eight of us plus an infant thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Powell farm! It was a perfect location and the house was great for our family needs. We swam in the pool every day! The house was spotless and the property was very well maintained. We will definitely stay here when we come back to Tennessee!
From finding this property to booking , staying & checkout everything was flawless!
Gorgeous setting in a beautiful , extremely clean , comfortable home. We will book again!
We enjoyed our weekend riding the beautiful roads, The house was in the perfect location for our Ride along The Tail of the Dragon and had wonderful space for our group to spread out or enjoy meals together. Thank you for having us!!

About the host
Hosted by Amy Higdon
Our home is built on property that has been in Velda's family since 1879. Her grandparents, Joseph and Sarah Jane Flynn, built the first structure on the property and raised their family on this farm. Sampson Flynn, Velda's father, was born on the farm in 1902. He married Bonnie Cagle in 1920 and their family eventually settled in the gray block home that sits next door to our home. Velda and Marshall had this home moved from along Little River in Walland, Tennessee to the current location in 1965. There have been several additions to the home over the years, including the pool and sunroom. Velda and Marshall raised their family, son David and daughter Amy, in this home until they moved their residence next door in 1996 They remodeled the block house of Velda's parents after their passing. Amy's family lives on the farm behind the rental. Their great-grandchildren are the 6th generation to have lived on the family property.
Why they chose this property
Powell Farm Rental has been in the nightly rental business since 1996. We love returning guests. Our home is large enough to have plenty of beds and room to spread out. The sunroom provides gorgeous mountain views even in the winter. Our guests have enjoyed various local activities, and one family returns each Fall for an annual Tennessee football game. We are 45 minutes from Dollywood and other Pigeon Forge attractions.
What makes this property unique
Powell Farm is uniquely located near Knoxville and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge but far enough away to avoid traffic and crowds. We are also located near 2 TVA lakes, Chilhowee (20 miles away) and Tellico (appox. 35 miles away). There is parking available for boats on our property.
Our home is located next door to Blackerry Farm, a nationally known and recognized country inn. Enjoy similar views at a fraction of the cost!
