Overview

About the property

One bedroom apartment situated on an 8 acre alpaca farm

Charming one-bedroom apartment on an alpaca farm! Guests are greeted every morning by two alpacas, Beethoven and Sebastian, who will come to your kitchen door, hoping to be fed an apple. The ground level apartment features a large eat-in kitchen, sitting room, cozy study 'nook', bathroom (with laundry facilities) and a separate entrance. High-speed internet and Wi-Fi are available. Beautiful views of the hills from the kitchen, peaceful and quiet.

Whether attending a graduation at one of the area's five colleges or many private schools or simply seeking some quiet time from a hurried existence, a stay at the Owl's Nest will make your visit a memorable one. Visits to West County in the early spring for pancakes and our legendary maple syrup, river rafting and zip line tours in the Summer, Fall festivals in October and Wintertime skiing at the nearby Berkshire East ski slopes are a few other reasons to come our way.

Because we have alpacas and our own wonderful Gt. Pyrenees puppy, we do not allow other animals on the property. We hope, however, that you will enjoy ours!

There is a no smoking policy on the premises. One will want to breathe in the fresh, pure air of this delightful setting and enjoy observing the stars in a perfect black sky at night.

About The Owner

I am both a therapist and an artist. Originally a sculptor, I have expanded my creative interests to include spinning my alpacas' fleece and knitting warm and lovely hats. The environment is nurturing and peaceful here, and whoever stays at the Owl's Nest will understand the phrase 'to be of the world, but not of it' while a guest.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2002

Why The Owner chose Conway

Visitors almost always comment about 'how quiet' it is at the Owl's Nest. While it feels isolated, it is also within an easy driving distance to several dynamic and fun towns where there is much to entertain one. Guests especially enjoy going to the town of Shelburne Falls, only 4 miles away, where one can stroll through the town, enjoy the historic 'bridge of flowers' browse through art galleries

What makes this apartment unique

A stay at the Owl's Nest will help a visitor remember the simpler delights of life and connect one with the joys of animals. There is nothing finer (or funnier!) than watching an alpaca come to your door (when called, of course!) ready to eat his morning apple. It is equally entertaining to observe the interactions between a large Gt. Pyrenees puppy who also comes to receive a treat because he, too, believes he is an alpaca.

Lovely getaway in the country!

  • 5 of 5

Caroline was such a sweet host and a great resource for recommendations in the area! The place was charming with a cozy wood burning stove that helped keep us warm over Thanksgiving weekend. Meeting the alpacas was a real treat for us city kids! We really got a kick out of saying hello to them each morning. And we can't forget Gabriel, the sweetest giant fluffy dog!

Beautiful and welcoming country house!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing time we had! The hostess is so incredibly sweet, and she'll let you help feed the alpacas and walk them, which adds so much to the experience, especially if you're from the city like us and don't usually get to experience that sort of thing. The alpacas and the big dog are all so sweet! The little apartment is so quaint and whimsical, exactly what you'd want from a country vacation! I can't wait to go back!!!!!

quiet serenity

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay this past Memorial Day weekend. Since it started off chilly, Caroline had the wood stove going when we arrived. Her property is lovely, rustic, serene and restful. I loved the fact that there is no TV. Each morning we were greeted by the alpacas and her large friendly dog. It was an idyllic experience. I wish we could have stayed forever!

Commune with Alpacas on 8 Beautiful Acres!

  • 5 of 5

The property is amazing and the location is perfectly off the beaten path yet easy to find. The interior is rustic yet immaculately clean, and showcases the owner Caroline's interests in the arts and nature with books, prints, and crafty details everywhere you look. We had the unique pleasure of feeding apples to the property's adorable and sweet alpacas each morning when they come to the front door - almost to say "good morning!" Caroline accommodated our needs with ease and recommended some great local restaurants. The only tip I would have is to make sure you understand the checkout time in advance. A wonderful getaway that exceeded our expectations!
