Perfect little cabin
This place is fantastic! For a rustic cabin it is impeccably clean. And the location & price can not be beat!! It’s not new -so if you want new do not stay here -but if you want to be seconds away from Lake Jocassee & not stay in the state park-this is a no brainer. Will definitely be back
Very clean place. Enjoyed a restful weekend in a beautiful spot.
Cabin was clean and comfortable
We enjoyed our two night stay. The weather the first day was a downpour of rain. The land pools up into a river like scenario due to the gutters needing attention - but the next day the water had subsided. The house is clean and well stocked. You'll want to grocery shop for all your essentials - including any aluminum foil or spices etc. There really isn't a bbq per se, so plan any meals accordingly. I'd say this is the perfect spot for a hunting/fishing retreat, rather than a family gathering. The property has a tremendous amount of debris from a fallen outbuilding - so it isn't really appealing at first glance. You are less than a mile from the Lake w/ no view at all and I'm not sure 300 yards accurately depicts the location - because you definitely don't get the sense you are anywhere near the water - but that may just be the picture I had in my head when booking and no real fault of the property owner. Once inside, again - it was clean, beds were comfortable, and the interior layout is as described. The porch and house feel as though they are slanted over the hillside, however, there has been some visually confirmed structural reinforcement and we never felt unsafe. I'd also like to add that the owner was especially quick to respond when we had questions prior to our arrival, which was very nice. In summary, he has a beautiful piece of property, it just could use some clean up and attention. All in all, I'd say his account of the property within the booking description is pretty fair and accurate.
The building demolition on the out buildings is now complete, there is a permanent charcoal grill mounted in the ground. the land has a drain line along the edge of the drive for the water to leave the parking area. sorry for any inconvenience, but it is a cabin as stated.
Loved the cabin. Very close to boat ramp and it had everything we needed! We will return!
This cabin was a step back in time but had everything we needed and was super clean.
I totally recommend staying here. It was the perfect fit for our family.
