Gatlinburg Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Enjoy a nice view of Mt. Le Conte and the Great Smoky Mountains from this luxury cabin just minutes from all the attractions. A perfect cabin for honeymooners or a couple looking for a romantic getaway.

Rocky Top is a one bedroom, one bath cabin nestled in the woods on an acre of land. You will find this luxury cabin clean and tastefully furnished throughout. The all-wood interior and stacked stone gas fireplace gives this true log cabin a warm, cozy feel - the perfect place to get away from it all. Neighbors on all sides are a good 150+ feet away so you have lots of privacy.

After a fun filled day -- whether hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, outlet shopping in Pigeon Forge, or enjoying the many attractions of Gatlinburg - relax on the back covered deck in one of the rocking chairs taking in the beautiful view of Mt. Le Conte or soak in the private hot tub.

Inside the cabin, you can play some air hockey in the loft, read a book, or watch a movie on the 42" LED HD Flat Screen TV. For those that need to stay connected there is free wireless internet (Wi-Fi). We're from New Orleans and love to cook, so you will appreciate the fully-equipped kitchen. Or why not barbecue on the charcoal grill outside.

Rocky Top is conveniently located on the north side of Gatlinburgs Arts and Crafts Community only 10 minutes to Downtown Gatlinburg, 15 minutes to Dollywood, Splash Mountain and The Island in Pigeon Forge, 8 minutes to the Food City Grocery Store and 15 minutes to the main entrance to the National Park. The cabin has a paved circular driveway. If mobility is a concern, you will appreciate the fact that one small 6-inch step will get you into this luxury cabin and the master suite is located on the main level.

This is where we vacation. We enjoy our vacation home and know you will too! You will not be disappointed. Rocky Top is rented by us, the owners. When you email or call about the cabin, you will be speaking directly with the owner - not a management company. We know more about our cabin than any management company ever would or could. It is our second home and we take pride in sharing it with you. We are responsive owners who answer inquiries/emails quickly and attend to our guests questions and concerns to help make their vacation the best!

If our cabin is booked, email us with your dates - our next door neighbors cabin might be available.

Rocky Top - A Wonderful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Shultheis’s cabin – Rocky Top. Having driven through Great Smoky National Park only once a few years ago, we decided this year to spend a week exploring the area and Rocky Top was an excellent base for those explorations. The cabin was well appointed and exactly as described and pictured in the VRBO web page.

With our visit planned to coincide with the fall colors, we were not disappointed. When we first arrived, the area around the cabin was just beginning to change color but we could see the color change already well under way on the distant Mount LeConte in Great Smoky National Park. We enjoyed sitting out on the back deck reading with the glorious view as a backdrop. During our stay, we did a lot of exploring of Great Smoky National Park including Clingman’s Dome and Cade’s Cove plus other extremely scenic roads surrounding the park. For a fall vacation, the cabin was a perfect base for our explorations.

All in all, a marvelous vacation.

Clean, very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The bed was so comfortable, all amenities worked well and made us feel at home. We flew in and decided to save money by cooking more at the cabin. We ran low on trash bags then trying to fit it all in the outside trash can was hard. Other than that the cabin was kept very clean. Great place for a getaway!

Great view with plenty of privacy!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Rocky Top. The cabin is very clean and well-appointed. You have plenty of privacy and a great view off of the back deck. The hot tub is nice and the cabin is a short drive to Gatlinburg. We have recommended Rocky Top to our friends and look forward to returning ourselves.

The property was delightful. It was not as isolated as I first thought.

  • 3 of 5

The owner's instructions to the property were confusing. Arrival time was after dark and some street signs were unavailable. After what seemed to be our third trip around the mountain we were finally able to find the U-turn which led us to the property. The next morning revealed the problem was a switchback u-turn that someone had marked on the asphalt with chalk. GPS did not help at all.

There were other properties within a stone's throw which reduced our outside privacy, particularly in the hot tub on the rear deck.

The property was clean and well maintained; however, there should have been a privacy shade installed on the inside of the front entrance door. When we first arrived we noticed that the second floor door to the balcony was unlocked. We checked all the other doors and windows to ensure they were secure.

We felt that the check in time was so late in the afternoon that we should have only been charged for one half day.

Taking some outside pictures adjacent to the cabin near a tree, my girlfriend brushed against the bark and upon our return home developed a rash on her upper back and arm. We later found out that the rash was caused by poison oak. Perhaps a sign warning of the possibility of this in the area would prevent others from this. It is now early March and the rash is just about gone.

I would only recommend this property to our friends or relatives after we inform them of this review. Driving from the New Orleans area took us considerable driving time to arrive late.

Owner's Response: We're so sorry that you were confused and weren't able to understand our step by step driving directions along with the detailed map that was provided to you. Check in time is 4:00 pm and check out time is 10:00 am which is the standard time for hotels and other cabins in the area. This allows for housekeeping to clean the cabin and prepare for the next guests. You pay by the nights and not by the days. The cabin in nestled on a 1 acre lot and the closest cabin is at least 150+ feet away which allows for quite a bit of privacy. Most of our guests comment on how secluded the property is. We apologize for your girlfriend developing a rash from leaning against the tree on the adjacent property. But common sense would tell you that you're on a mountain in the woods and I've never seen a warning sign to let you know that there might be a possibility of poison oak in the area. Driving from the New Orleans area does take considerable driving time, but if you wanted to arrive before dark, you might have wanted to adjust your departure time from New Orleans. We strive for 100% satisfaction and we're sorry we fell short on your expectations.

Great Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is exactly as advertised: very clean and cozy, with a fantastic view off the back deck while sitting in the hot tub. The location is also perfect. It is close enough to Gatlinburg that going into town is easy, yet far enough way to get out of the busy pace of the town. We would recommend this cabin to our friends, and we will stay here again when we return to the Great Smoky Mountains.
