What makes this House unique
Located in rural Northern Michigan, the Ely House sees every season that Michigan has to offer. We're just 3 miles from the Pellston Regional Airport, 10 miles from Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob skiing and golfing resorts, 18 miles from Colonial Michilimackinac and downtown Petoskey, and two hours from the Sleeping Bear Dunes. The home sits across from snowmobile and ATV trails. We're only 13 miles from the pristine waters of Sturgeon Bay at Wilderness National Park where snorkeling, swimming, and dune climbing make for unforgettable memories.

My family and I loved this house. It is very cozy and it gives you the feel of being in other times!
The house was clean, it has more room than I actually expected. It was a nice drive to Petoskey and Mackinac city. Two cities we wanted to visit and after being out the whole day it was nice to come back to a peaceful environment. The stars were beautiful at night time and we had bonfires the 2 nights we stayed. My kid loved to see the cows and it was a great connection with nature and family. I would recommend this place and I would stay again.
Loved it! Had everything we needed...
Weekend getaway at Ely House
We had a great time!
We have stayed 2 weeks at the Ely House for the last 3 years and we have loved every minute! Wish we could stay all summer! It is the loveliest place - an absolutely beautiful setting with a big front porch to sit on, a huge yard to play in, a beautiful house complete with everything you need including nice soaps, etc. It is located close to all sorts of wonderful places - Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Burt Lake, Mackinaw, Sturgeon Bay, and the list just goes on and on. The stars are stunning and it is so quiet. Morning and evening walks are beautiful - in any direction. We love the cows, sand hill cranes, turkeys, birds, and any other wildlife that comes along. James is a wonderful host and always ready to help if anything is needed. Our family travels from California and Maryland to meet up here and we range in ages from 5 to 75. There is something here for everyone and just a wonderful place for family to spend time together. Thanks so much James - we can't wait for next summer!!
Quaint and quiet
Really enjoyed this VRBO. Have stayed in quite a few but this was the best. The owners went above and beyond with their hospitality. We were greeted with a plate of cookies and a personal, handwritten note. The rooms were all clean and beds were super comfortable. We enjoyed the firepit and they even provided firewood. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and tables for our family of 8 to have plenty of room. There was plenty of bathrooms and hot water for showers to go around. The house is right around the corner from the Pellston airport, but not so close the noise is a bother. We drove to Mackinaw City and caught the ferry to Mackinac Island. The house was close enough to everything. We will for sure be back!
Lovely stay in the lilacs
We really enjoyed our time at Ely house. If I had one suggestion it would be to get some mattress toppers for the queen beds upstairs.
Also if there is anyway to get wifi that would also be amazing.
But we loved the house, the quiet and the lilacs. I will definitely recommend this house to friends and family traveling to Northern Michigan.
