About the property

3 Bed & 3 Bath Homestead on the Ely Farm

Located in rural Northern Michigan, the Ely House sees every season that Michigan has to offer. We are just four miles from the Pellston Regional Airport, 10 miles from Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob skiing and golfing resorts, eighteen miles from Colonial Mackinaw City and downtown Petoskey, and two hours from the Sleeping Bear Dunes.

The Ely House is situated on our family farm of 200 acres where we graze grass fed cattle, grow organic vegetables, and make raw honey. Cold Creek runs through the middle of our property connecting to the Maple River offering abundant trout fishing opportunities for the experienced angler. The House also sits right across from one of the best snowmobile and ATV trails in the area great for early morning walks and site seeing. It's also only 13 miles from the locals little known secret of Sturgeon Bay where snorkeling, swimming, and dune climbing are the best around! We've always considered our selves blessed to be right in the middle of the most beautiful area in the Midwest.

Each room has its own private bathroom with shower. A full kitchen with all utilities and laundry are available. A personal chef for early morning breakfast or a professional message therapist are available at separate discounted rates for our guests; just contact me when booking for arrangements. If you have any questions before or during your stay please feel free to ask. The Ely House is family owned and cared for and we like to treat our guests the same way :)

Fall Time Gem

  • 5 of 5

The property was beautiful beyond words. The colors of the autumn leaves and beauty of nature made us feel like we were in a painting during our nature walks. The house was the perfect size for our two families of four and had all we needed to cook a few meals and relax. The distance to Mackinaw City was a short drive.

Definitely plan on returning for a visit next fall!

Peaceful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We recently made a short trip to Michigan with family, including two granddaughters. The girls were thrilled with the pink room and the rest of us were very happy with the accommodations! Everything in the listing was as described The location was perfect for us - we picked up a pizza in Mackinaw City and it was still hot when we got it back to the house.

James was wonderful to work with! On a previous stay at this home, we were surprised to find a bowl of freshly-picked apples waiting for us.

We definitely plan to return for more memory-making!

Great accomodations

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed at this house on a trip to the Mackinac area. It was clean and was well-stocked with kitchen plates, bowls, glasses, and cookware. The beds were comfortable, and the location was quiet and remote, but close enough to Mackinaw City to see visit the different sights every day. Three televisions were available to keep up on what's going on in the world when we chose to stay back.

We used the washer/dryer to do laundry, which was a great feature since we had been travelling for many days on this trip.

I'd highly recommend this place, and we hope to stay there again sometime.

Girls Fall Weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful girls weekend at this house this past weekend. It may look small from the front but it's very spacious inside and very clean!!! Our king size bed and pillows on the bottom floor was very comfy. The other girls who slept upstairs stated their beds were comfortable too!! And 3 1/2 bathrooms worked out great for 8 girls, just wished they had provided blow dryers but fortunately, one of the girls brought one along so we managed. The rural house is nicely located between Mackinac Island and Petoskey which we very much enjoyed while we were there. And the view of the starry sky was gorgeous at night!!! The only mistake we learned from was to not set your bag of garbage on the porch outside(the two trash cans were full) because the raccoons will find it!!! Wonderful placed to stay for a big family or group!!
