About Stephen Kuehm
We first came to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in the fall of 1990, just after the birth of our son. Now, more than 27 years later, after renting various homes in Duck, Kill Devil Hills, Salvo, and Frisco, we've finally decided it's time to have a place of our own. And if you're at all familiar with the area, you know that Duck is the place to be! There's no six lane highway just outside your door, there's no endless stream of cars inhibiting your access to the beach, and there's no 45 minute to 1 hour drive after you cross the sound! Duck is less than 20 minutes from the Wright Memorial bridge - even during the peak of the summer season (if you know the back roads). There is no road to cross to get to the beach and you can walk from one end of town to the other in just a few minutes. We hope that you enjoy your time in Duck as much as we do. Regards, Anne & Steve

Great stay! Super close to beach!
Definitely coming back! Duck is a really cool town! Lots to see and great food!
Relax and Rejuvenate
Great location , nautical decor, loved the bikes, Crows nest and relaxing swing. The extras made our stay special and memorable. Easy walk to Duck!
This cottage was both a short walk to the beach and to the town of Duck. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the screened in porch and an evening cocktail on the roof. Quiet neighborhood. The cottage has bikes that were great for going around town and an outdoor shower that was great for washing off the sand. I would definitely stay here again!
Just where I wanted to be
One of the main reasons we went was to attend the Duck Jazz Festival. I wanted to be right in Duck. The house wasn't on a "main" road so we didn't have much traffic going through - which is great!! The house was clean & had everything we needed. Another plus - we could walk down the road to the beach. There was a boardwalk right at the end of the street. Oh man, if I could only bottle up that sound. The table was perfect for playing cards & dominoes (which we did on a couple of rainy days). I LOVED the outdoor shower. The owner was great to work with & answered any questions / texts really fast. I would definitely stay here again.
Perfect Outer Banks Experience
My husband and I decided to make a "bucket list" trip to the Outer Banks with little advance planning and no knowledge of the area. Thankfully, I found the Daffy Duck property in Duck, NC, which proved to be the perfect place for us. The owner, Steve, did everything possible to facilitate and enhance our stay. This cottage has an open floor plan, with 3 bedrooms to provide ample accommodations for up to 7 people. Beds were extremely comfortable, and other furnishings added to a relaxed and "home away from home" atmosphere. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped, as is the living area, with countless videos, books, and games to choose from. The screened-in porch and roof-top deck were wonderful, because the cottage is so close to the ocean that you can hear waves from either location. I loved the fact that a beautiful beach was less than a 5 minute walk from the property. Duck proved to be the perfect location for us because we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. The location allows you easy access to anywhere you want to go in the Outer Banks, while allowing you a quiet, private retreat when you've finished sightseeing for the day. Local restaurants were excellent, and literally took minutes to drive to and from. I wholeheartedly recommend this property, and would love to return in the future.
My visit to Duck was a most delightful retreat. The cottage provided comfort convenience & a location I found most pleasing. I loved the outdoor shower, the rooftop deck & the 4 comfy bicycles made exploring the island magical. I would never imagined I could obtain so much at this price point. Thank you Steve & Anne for sharing your little world with me, I’m dreaming of returning. xo Cynthia
