Great location!

We love staying in this area of Duck and this house was no exception. The new living room and master bedroom are beautiful! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and the beach toys/equipment were helpful to have for our use. The ping-pong table in the carport area was a great non-beach activity for the kiddos. Overall, this is a great value for the money and we would definitely consider coming back to this house!

Summer vacation

We had a wonderful stay at the Daffy Duck! One of the best vacations in a long time. The weather was great and the house was perfect for our family. It was clean, bright, nicely decorated, and close to the beach and downtown Duck. We really enjoyed the new addition and deck. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and at the same time cozy rooms for when we all wanted to be together. We can’t wait to stay again!

The location is great - it’s a very easy walk to the public beach access! The updates to the bathrooms, bedrooms and family room were all very well done and the house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. We thought we had lost our keys at the beach (but we found them), and the owner was very responsive when we called him - we truly appreciated that! One tip is to bring an extra roll of toilet paper or two - one bathroom didn’t have any, which we learned the hard way! Our family of five was very comfortable there and would love to book again!

Great home away from home

This house was so well set up. Any little thing we needed seemed to be there. My younger kids enjoyed looking through the dvds and vhs and it led to alot of conversations about old movies. The kitchen was great for our group. And the beds were comfortable, which I always worry aboht. Our stay was great and the kids loved only having a quick walk to the beach or shops!

Perfect for our family

The house was lovely and perfect for spending Easter weekend with 3 generations of our family. The bathrooms were all clean and recently upgraded. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots/pans/dishes and basics for cooking (olive oil, spices, etc). It was nice to have two separate sitting areas/family rooms to keep noise contained after kids went to bed. We walked to the beach multiple times each day and took advantage of the beach toys, chairs and wagon. We had a wonderful trip and would gladly stay at this house again.

Graduation, fall break, family getaway

The house accommodated 8 adult sized bodies very well. Parents, my husband and I, our 3 (young adult) children and daughter’s boyfriend. The oldest kiddos will both be graduating college in December. Wanted to celebrate on a semi budget. This place did not disappoint. Was beautiful! First time to OBX, was lovely.

Great house/Great location/Great value/Great VACATION! :)

The house feels like part cabin in the woods, and part California beach house with it's awesome addition! Lots of space for 4 adults. The young adults loved the ping pong table! The location is 1 block to the quiet beach. We brought our bikes and did lots of bike rides on the bike trail. We appreciated the beach chairs. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked many meals at the house. Easy walk into town to the boardwalk, restaurants, and shops! I would definitely rent this house again! We had never been to Duck, the Outer banks, or NC and loved it all!

Wonderful stay at the Daffy Duck

We had a great vacation staying at the Daffy duck. The location was perfect. Easy walk to the beach and even with young kids we were able to walk to shops and restaurants. They had everything we needed at the house! We appreciated that we didn't have to bring beach toys and chairs, they had it all in a wagon ready to go. The house was very spacious. I knew to bring our own linens but did not think about bringing toilet paper. That would have been the only thing that would have been nice to know going in. But otherwise we had a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend!

Duck Stay During Jazz Festival

Kitchen nicely furnished with cooking needs and had good counter space for food prep. We needed good kitchen provisions...so A+. Rooms were clean. BR were small but thats ok for our needs. Good that cottage was close to the ocean. It was not far from Duck but we drove to Duck for other needs so ocean close-venue was better. Really spacious living rooms (two). That gave adults options on TV and conversing. We will consider staying there again.

Duck April 2021

We had a wonderful long weekend spring visit to Duck. We love the location of this property which is an easy walk to the beach but also close enough to walk to the village of Duck, the boardwalk area and to our favorite coffee shop. There is an extensive movie collection which we all enjoyed. Plenty of outdoor places to relax on the sunny rooftop deck and front deck or the shady porch and rear deck. Bedrooms are small as seen in photos but perfectly adequate and living space had plenty of room to hang out. Kitchen had everything we could have needed and we cooked a big dinner every night. Well maintained and looked like recent updates with new shingles, fresh paint and new floors. We appreciated full size washer/dryer. We would stay here again!

Retro and Cozy, Easy Walk to Beach

This house was exactly what we were looking for - a cozy cottage for a long beach weekend getaway! It has a "retro" coziness, which reminded me of the Duck/Nags Head-area homes that my family used to stay in back in the 80's. It was also the perfect size home for our young family of 4. Easy walk to the beach too. Would definitely stay here again!

Great place in duck!

The property was great just a short walk to beach access! Many amenities the house included such as chairs and boogie boards and bikes! The house was very clean and we enjoyed it a lot! We even talked about coming back to the same house in the future we loved it!

Great location and charming vacation home

This vacation home was a great find! It is an excellent location, and although a little weather worn, is a wonderful home! It is clean and well kept and feels like a home away from home. We first came to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in the fall of 1990, just after the birth of our son. Now, more than 30 years later, after renting various homes in Duck, Kill Devil Hills, Salvo, and Frisco, we've finally decided it's time to have a place of our own. And if you're at all familiar with the area, you know that Duck is the place to be! There's no six lane highway just outside your door, there's no endless stream of cars inhibiting your access to the beach, and there's no 45 minute to 1 hour drive after you cross the sound! Duck is less than 20 minutes from the Wright Memorial bridge - even during the peak of the summer season (if you know the back roads). There is no road to cross to get to the beach and you can walk from one end of town to the other in just a few minutes.

We hope that you enjoy your time in Duck as much as we do.
