300 YARDS from the OCEAN FRONT!!! Located in the heart of DUCK!! New Kitchen!!!

*** We are excited to announce that our kitchen was completely remodeled!
We are excited to share our band new kitchen. It was completed March 2025!

The Sandy Duck is a charming colorful cottage that sits in a perfect location - exactly between the ocean and the sound in Duck, NC. A ten-minute walk can take you to the ocean, and easy boardwalk access to the beach, or to the sound and the quaint village of Duck, which offers unique shops and restaurants.

The Sandy Duck features four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, a well stocked , open kitchen perfect for creating family meals, and lots of deck space to enjoy your morning coffee, sun bathe, or take an afternoon break from the beach.

When it's beach time, there's a large wheeled carrier to transport the beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and toys which are provided, or you can pack up your car and drive 300 yards to the beach access where guests have free parking. After the beach, rinse off in the large outdoor shower, complete with a seated changing area.

When it's time for a break from the beach, relax in the large rope hammock, play a game of horseshoes, or bring (or rent) bikes to experience Duck's multi-use paths and trails.

In the evening, stroll down to Duck's unique sound side boardwalk where you can shop, drink, and dine while taking in the spectacular sunsets. The boardwalk, which has been featured in numerous travel periodicals, runs the entire length of the town and offers places for fishing, crabbing, or just setting off on your paddle-board or kayak. It also connects to the Duck Town Park, with over 11 acres of natural beauty including trails through the maritime forest and willow swamp, open green space, and amphitheater, picnic areas, and playground.

The house was a perfect bungalow for our family. It is very conveniently located to the beach. The house was extremely clean. The newly renovated kitchen is very nice. We really loved the screened in porch!

Our stay at the Sandy Duck was absolutely incredible! The home was even more spacious than the photos show, kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked, and the beach supplies were so helpful! We loved our morning coffee, meals, and evenings on the screen porch, and walking to the boardwalk and of course the beach every day! It really felt like a home away from home and we hope to return!

We loved this house! Truly one of the best stocked (laundry detergent, cooking supplies, soap, beach chairs, cook books, blankets, etc) and thoughtful rentals we’ve ever stayed in. We’re a family of four with two young kids and the house was great. The screened in porch was great as a kids play area and for meals. The air conditioner worked great. We loved the very thoughtful and detailed Duck/OBX guide on the coffee table!

All we needed! I don’t go on vacation to stay in the house. Nice little set up and plenty of room. Clean. Most of your basics were covered. Located in a great area. Easily walk to boardwalk, about 10 minutes. Five minute walk to beach or less than a minute drive as you can park at the end of the street for beach access. Only connivence it was missing for me was a detachable shower head for easy rinsing. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

The home was so enjoyable. The owners are easy to connect with. It was clean, plenty of space with 4 bedrooms and 3 bath. The screened room was a family favorite as it had great breezes in the afternoon. It is not directly on the beach, but the home has convenient beach access at the end of the road where you can park to drop off people and toys, then walk down. The waves, water and beach were fun for all. For dining, shopping or exercise with endless sidewalks this place very walkable to all things “Duck”.

We loved this place! Walk to the end of the driveway and look left and see the ocean look right and see the sound. So beautiful to walk the street here. Easy to get to the boardwalk and soundside grill and WeeWinks!Really nice kitchen, family room and outdoor porch facing the sunrise was awesome. Easy to checkin/out. History of the house and family pics so sweet. They are updating things so maybe mattresses and laundry room (mildew) are next?Would definitely book again.
