Amazing views, super quiet location, & great setup!
We took our family of 5 to stay here for a week in August and had a wonderful stay! The view is incredible looking over the lake and location very private and serene! We needed a week away from the hustle and bustle and this was a great place to spend it! The cabin had all we needed with a bed for everyone, nice kitchen, lovely deck, and even a washer & dryer! We would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful lake getaway! The only drawback we found was the size of the lake is pretty small and low depth in several areas, which was challenging for water sports such as wakeboarding, tubing and skiing but it can be done here. It was perfect for fishing and canoeing. It seems the main use of this lake is by fisherman! Thanks for a great stay!
Great Family on Mann Lake!!
Our family stayed at this home in August 2015. We brought our two daughters who are 3 and 5. Booking the property was a nice experience. Molly answered all of our questions and we talked with Richard, the owner, as well. When we got to the cabin it was clean, well appointed, and a perfect layout for our family. The kids slept together in one of the bedrooms with two twin beds. The bathroom must have been recently remodeled and has a huge tub and shower. The two sinks were nice too and the girls loved brushing their teeth at their own sinks. The kitchen is large and has everything you need to cook many good meals. There are tons of big windows with great views of the lake.
We spent most of our time outside. There is a nice deck and a grassy area with a fire pit. The kids spent a lot of time walking around the yard picking up sticks for the fire! The lake is down a big hill and there are a lot of stairs (I counted 47!).You get used to the climb, but there are no railings so we had to be close to the kids every time they walked down there. There is a nice dock with a boat lift (newly installed just in time for our visit!). There isn’t a beach, but the lake is very clear and has a sandy bottom. It’s perfect for swimming and playing.
We brought our boat (a 19.5 foot Lund) and were able to launch it at the Wildwood Resort, which is about 1.5 miles away. The fee is $20 to launch and reload. The launch there was nice but pretty narrow. Our boat is a little too big for this lake, but worked for our many fishing and boating trips.
We’ve made a few trips into town. Longville has turtle races, an ice cream & pizza restaurant and a few shops. Not the most exciting place, but the closest. Hackensack is close too, maybe 25 minutes, and had a great park for the kids, a great ice cream shop, restaurants, grocery store, movie theater, etc. There is a new restaurant, Arthurs, that is just outside of town on 10-Mile Lake. It had just opened last month and was really good! We got drinks, pizza, salad and wings. Walker is even bigger and about 40 minutes away.
Overall this has been a great trip! Great: cabin, location, lake, views, etc. Meh: just the walk down the stairs to the lake. Not that big of a deal. Thanks Molly and Richard. Great place! We had an amazing family vacation!
Very relaxing place to stay
We had a great family get together at this cabin. I would recommend this to others.
The cabin is well kept and has everything we needed.
Easy to find and plenty of shopping and trails near by. We even went to the movies one night.
Fit six adults easily.
Great views from deck and living room.
Large yard to play games.
Very clear lake, nice swimming and fishing. Channels to two other lakes, easy for canoeing.
The cabin is elevated, so there are steps down to the dock, but was never an issue for us.
