Great weekend with friends

  • 5 of 5

We had friends from college fly in from across the US for a long weekend. We stayed three nights in February and had a great time playing games, catching up, and cooking meals. The hot tub was wonderful and great for stargazing from at night. The mountains in the distance were beautiful and colorful at sunset. We didn't leave the house much but we did enjoy a morning at Mount Princeton hot springs and a lunch at Eddyline Brewery's restaurant in Buena Vista.

The hosts were responsive and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. With 5 couples and one single, the two bedrooms with three twin beds was a little awkward, but was handled well by everyone and each person appreciated having a bed to sleep in. The Keurig was an unexpected bonus and greatly enjoyed! Overall, this house was a great choice and accommodated our group well.

Great for two families!!

  • 5 of 5

Our two families (4 adults & 5 teenagers) enjoyed celebrating Christmas at Chocolate Moose Lodge!! It was decorated beautifully for the holidays...lights, a tree, garlands, Christmas decor throughout...very festive!! The home is located in a private gated community. We enjoyed long walks, not just on the roads around the home but on the trails through the open space leading to the National Forest.

The kitchen is very well appointed. We found everything we needed (measuring cups, serving bowls) and never lacked utensils, plates or glasses/cups.

One of the reasons we rented this home is because of the bedroom configurations. And it couldn't have worked better!! The rooms the teens used were fabulous because they each had three twin beds...which meant everyone had their own bed!!! Plus it is always nice to have two master suites.

The hot tub is a great amenity.

The nine of us have already discussed coming back here for another mountain getaway!!

Perfect Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

Great space- was clean and ready to go when we arrived for our Thanksgiving holiday. Well stocked kitchen, perfect for Thanksgiving cooking and family gathering. 9 adults and 4 small children. Enough space for all of us. Family games and kid games. Property was beautiful. Hot tub amazing under the stars!!! Fireplace/heater was stocked with firewood and had easy to use instructions- kept the entire home warm, even with the snow blowing outside on our last day. Beds were comfy and had plenty of sheets and blankets to keep everyone warm. Even met great neighbors who told us of family friendly hiking trails! Overall 5-star stay for our family. We hope to come back in the fall to enjoy the Aspens.

Cassie was easy to work with and attentive to all our questions!! Thank you for having such a wonderful home!!!

Perfect Vacation! 3 Families with kids

  • 5 of 5

This lodge was absolutely great! It's a ways away from Fairplay, which was just what we wanted! It's only 10-15 minutes to get to Fairplay, and about 45 minutes to get to Breckenridge. The location was nice and quiet, and very beautiful! The views from the deck are wonderful. There is so much room in the lodge that you won't feel like you're crowded. The kitchen is stocked well, the fireplace was easy to work, and the hot tub was one of our favorites! Heather was extremely helpful and very accommodating for our stay. This really could not have been any better. Thank you very much for renting us your cabin, Heather!

Fantastic family reunion at Chocolate Moose Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic family reunion at Chocolate Moose Lodge. Heather was so easy to work with and the house was more than we expected. The decorative touches made the Chocolate Moose Lodge really inviting. The hot tub was so nice too! The kitchen had everything we needed to make all of our meals. The kids loved the media room downstairs, which was their hangout. :) We had such a great time that we'll be back, hopefully next year!
