Casa Del Toro Boracho is ideally situated in the picturesque Santa Ynez Valley, in the quaint historical town of Los Olivos. Lined with turn of the century Victorian Architecture and old growth Oaks, Los Olivos harkens to a bygone era. The only difference today is you can now embrace the unhurried pace and peaceful vibe while sampling award winning wines and fare followed by live music friendly and Bocce at Zinke winery! This place is like Yountville, Sonoma, or Saint Helena 40 years ago...but it already boasts world class wine and food!!!

Casa Del Toro Boracho is situated on a beautifully landscaped 1/4 acre, just steps from numerous tasting rooms, restaurants, and galleries. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath (with bonus room)retreat is perfect for that wine country getaway, family gathering, cycling trip.....or whatever fits the bill.

Living Room/Dining : When you enter the front door, the country feel is unmistakable, From the high ceilings and Hickory wood plank floors to the California country decor, this room sets a relaxed tone. There is ample comfy seating for 6-8 as well as an inviting fireplace adjacent from the country pine dining table.. There is also a 60" LED Smart TV for "Movie Night".

Kitchen: The fully equipped chef's kitchen is located off the living/dining area and is exposed to the fire place as well. The gas BBQ and a small out door dining table are located off the kitchen in the side yard.

Master Bedroom: The master bedroom has a king size bed, full bath, and private fenced zen garden/retreat. It is located to the left when you enter the front door, while the other two bedrooms are across the house. This provides nice privacy and separation.

Bedroom #2 and #3 are located off the dining area. Step down into a small vestibule and you will find bedroom 2 to the left and bedroom 3 to the right. The full "jack and Jill" bathroom is located between the bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has two twin beds while bedroom 3 has a queen size bed.

Bonus Room: there is an additional small bedroom with two twin beds which is ideal for kids..

Den/TV Room: there is a small den with large flat screen TV and Futon. This room is ideal for kids gaming/TV viewing.

Outdoor Amenities: When coming to the wine country there is nothing more enjoyable than dining and relaxing al fresco. The outdoor dining area caters to those joyous gatherings the wine country is known for.

About Greg Merrill

I graduated in 1987 from UCSB while my wife graduated from UC Berkley. Having been in the Mortgage Business for over 25 years, the 2008 Mortgage meltdown provide the perfect opportunity to make a dramatic change. So in 2010, we decided to move from Marin County to Santa Barbara, with our two children. We had always had a serious love affair with Santa Barbara with its Spanish Architecture and Mediterranean climate. After much discussion the decision was made on the premise of "why wait until we are old and in-firmed to make the move to paradise"?!

Why Greg Merrill chose Central Coast

In 2009 we purchased a "tear down" shack around the corner from the beach with the long term goal of operating it as a Vacation Rental. In 2015 we completed the demolition and construction of Casa Solage: Santa Barbara. The goal was to create a Boutique luxury retreat that would be a noticeable upgrade to our guest. So far, in 2015, we have had an overwhelming response and the bookings have been non-stop.

With Santa Barbara under control, we turned our attention to our next objective: securing a wine country retreat in the nearby Santa Ynez Valley. After careful evaluation and more than a few tastings, Los Olivos was the hands down winner! The allure of the small town feel and the easy access to excellent food and wine coupled with the short drive to SB, made the decision that much easier.

When looking for the right place we made offers on a number of "fixers" and just as we were about to commit to a major project, this turn key cottage on a pristine parcel came on the market. We had the good fortune of winning out in multiple bids. This property is half way down a private lane just steps from all Los Olivos has to offer. Location, location, location!

The beautiful grounds and the serene setting made us immediately fall in love with this property. The short stroll into town is also a big bonus.

Great house walking distance to Los Olivos

Great women's wine weekend in a beautiful home. The beds were all comfortable, the place was spotless and decorated cute. A few minutes walk to town for the tasting rooms (a lot with great outdoor patios). We did a bike ride to Solvang and that was a lot of fun. The house is a great base to visit the area. It was cold at night so we didn't get to utilize the outdoor space, but I'm sure it's great in warmer weather. The owner was quick to reply to emails and a pleasure to deal with.

Wonderful home, perfect for our needs, walking distance to quaint Los Olivos town center

This home was a great place for my husband, young daughter and babysitter to stay for a weekend. The kitchen is very well equipped - only small cooking/baking utensils missing, but nothing that lessened our weekend or our stay. We loved walking down the hill, 50 yards into the town of Los Olivos which offers everything from local dining fare, high-end boutique shops, a salon and too many tasting rooms to count! The home is very clean, tastefully (and contemporarily) decorated and even has an additional "extra room" which is not advertised in the property listing. It ended up working great as a nap room/ bedroom for our small baby.

This home was perfect for me and my friends to have a weekend full of wine, dining, and relaxing. The location is fantastic and makes walking to restaurants, tasting rooms, and shopping so easy. The house was even better in person than it looked in pictures. The description said the place slept 8, and it did, but that put two people on couches which we did not expect. It wasn't a problem though!

Great location and property

We really enjoyed our visit. The house was clean and neat with all the basics. Great location for "winetasters" with so many tasting rooms within easy walking distance, and of course it is in the middle of Santa Barbara wine country. Lots of hikes and rock climbing for the kids but some distance away. Our son got dinner reservations at Firestone, AJs and Mattei's, all good and fun but Mattei's had no local wines by the glsas - not good. A ping pong/pool table would be nice and of course a hot tub and fire pit, but I do understand the drought situation there.

Had a wonderful time!

The house was perfect for our ladies wine tasting weekend! Perfect location for walking into town to the tasting rooms and shops or short drives to the local wineries. We road the bikes every morning to work off the fantastic wine and food from the previous day! The house was very comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the BBQ and dining in the lovely garden too. Will come back soon!!
