Penthouse 104 is on the 39th Floor..... offering a glimpse of the emerald blue ocean and the extinct volcanic Ko'olau mountain range now a lush forestry on steep cliffs and deep valleys. There is a famous song in Hawaii...."Honolulu City Lights" by Keola and Kapono Beamer. Please search for this song online as you marvel of this incredible "city lights" from dusk to dawn. .
What is also unique that this side of the building offers is the "Ala Wai"....this was originally a water management system for the consistent rainfall from Manoa Valley. It is channeled to evacuate to the ocean. Believe it or not, from this high vantage point looking down the "Ala Wai" you may discover a black shadow that resembles a sting ray. You will not be seeing is a sting ray! Just floating about as it moves from one end to the other. When you actually get to the street level to the "Ala Wai" you can see lots of fish.....look for the giant puffer fish! The "Ala Wai" has not become a recreational destination for canoe clubs!
All about the views! This is why this Penthouse is special...
the consistent "Manoa Mist" will frequent "Anue'nue" or rainbows....(The University of Hawaii Campus in Manoa got it's nickname UH "Rainbow Warriors" can actually see the campus from the kitchen and guest bedroom windows)......
PH104 views is hypnotic and soothing......feel the energy from the Ko'olaus....clouds will drift, sprays of rainfall, always changing....

Amazing view, good location

We enjoyed our stay. It was convenient to the Convention Center where our adult son was participating in a conference. The spacious unit was clean and the kitchen was well furnished. Linens and pillows provided, including beach towels, were more than adequate. Some of the electrical outlets were not working. It was quite windy for two days while we were there and the windows squealed loudly when the wind gusted. We didn't mind the walk to Waikiki, but some may find it a bit far. There were some good restaurants along the way and ample grocery shopping nearby. Overall, we had a great time!!

Great place to Stay!

First of all, the hotel (Hawaiian Monarch) itself is not impressive from the looks but the condo is extremely nice and well maintained and clean. The kitchen had great new appliances and it's a huge plus the condo also has a washer and dryer. We had a party of 5 - and having two beds in each room and two full bathrooms made our stay so much more comfortable and accommodating for everyone. I was also amazed at how quiet it was - we didn't hear any of our neighbors. We loved the views and the rainbows everyday and the condo was in walking distance to the beach and restaurants. Rick was responsive to some items needed the first day and then we didn't have to bug him again. I would give it 5-Stars but I'm a tough critic and we were short some items as mentioned and had a little glitch with the A/C in one of the rooms - but it was resolved. I would DEFINITELY stay there again and recommend to others.

Our stay (2 couples) at the Hawaiian Monarch was just as promised! The photos of the views do not capture the breathtaking scenery! Our host, Rick, provided us with easy entry with an earlier check-in time per his detailed instructions, and he also arranged for a late check-out for one of our couples. It was an easy walk to the beach and all the shopping and restaurants one could desire. It was one of the few places during our trip to Hawaii that had air conditioning. A feature we had not thought at the time of our booking, and very happy that it was available. Rick, our host, was extremely helpful and responsive to our questions about the unit and area. The unit was clean, towels were amble, and noticed that there were supplies for young children available, although we did not have any with us!

Very Nice Property

We loved our stay at Hawaiian Monarch. It was comfortable and very nice.

The apartment has lovely view and everything you need.

It has easy accessibility to public transport and is very close to Ala Moana and Waikiki beach.

I would recommend this condo to people with kids and families.

Penthouse 104 June 2016 stay!!

Our stay in penthouse # 104 during June was wonderful!! Everything was as Rick had described and I loved that he was available any time I needed something. He answers the phone (what a concept). The penthouse was roomy and the air conditioning wonderful! The beds are comfortable and we slept great! There is great privacy and we didn't hear any other guests ever which is amazing. Easy easy walk to everything. Parking on site was convenient. The fee has gone up from $20 to $25 per day for parking so plan on that. We had a blast and were sad it was over! Would go back for sure. Beach towels provided but they aren't super big so bring big ones if that matters to you. We loved having the snorkel gear and used it! Saved us renting for all 5 of us so very much appreciated that! Loved also that there was a fitness center available for only $5.00 go your whole stay. It's not huge but great to be able to hit the gym. Wish we could go back this summer. Stay with Rick as you won't be sorry!!

Great location to all the shops, eateries, bus line. Beach is approx 15 minute stroll to the Hilton Hawaiian Village beach front. This area of the beach offers more sand area for beach combing opposed to the other end of Waikiki. Hale Koa Hotel is next door that offers a kiddie play ground, grassy area and BBQ grills (charcoal).

Restrooms is available at the Hilton or the public restroom on beach.
