We liked it!

This is one of many older residences with some updating that are rented out on the Oregon coast. As long as you are not expecting a five star experience, you will enjoy your stay here too. As has been the case with many other homes my wife and I have rented, we replaced several light bulbs. Can you ask your property manager to check the lamps when they clean the place? Also, one of the burners on the stovetop did not work. Since the "kitchenette" is pretty small anyway and we didn't cook many meals here it didn't impact our stay but again, something that would improve someone's stay. The view from the front living area was fantastic, with a nice fireplace and large full length windows to allow hours of ocean viewing. The small yard has a fire pit and a small sand pit too if you have little ones that want to play in the sand. Probably the most outstanding feature of the place is its namesake, the "Crow's Nest". What a wonderful place to sit and look out at the ocean and the sand for hours, either at the small table or the comfy little couch. If you are looking for a place to curl up with your favorite hot beverage and look out at the ocean for hours, or just have a place to sleep and keep your stuff while you spend the day touristing from Seaside to Tillamook (Rockaway is ideally located for this!), this is the place for you.

Wonderful

This place is better than the photos can show. With the exception of the patio door being hard to open, everything was perfect. Absolutely satisfied! Coming from Wisconsin, it may be the only time I get to the Pacific ocean. (I hope not though!) We couldn't have chosen a better location. I kept thinking... I can't believe I'm actually here!

Great vacation home for a family with small kids on a budget. Easy beach access with amazing view.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I brought our two girls, ages 2 and 3, in addition to my parents. There was just the right amount of room for all of us. This home included everything we needed in the kitchen and also games, kites, sand toys, lawn chairs, radio, and a stereo and cds in the crow's nest.

Our kids played right in front in the sand pit area while we could watch from inside (while cooking, etc).

The washer and dryer was great for washing sandy kid clothes. The description says there are two showers, but one of the showers can be used as a shallow bath for kids, which worked out fabulous for us.

We drive an Expedition and it fit in the garage great. There is no locking door to the garage, but the neighborhood was safe and we felt safe just locking our car doors.

The only thing we didn't realize was that the floorplan includes Jack and Jill style bathroom/bedroom setup. The bedroom with the bunks is attached to a bath, which has a door that opens up directly to the master bedroom.

The crows nest isn't attached to the home, but could also sleep one or two people (sleeping/yoga mat is there). There are no blinds or bathroom up there, but it has a locking door and heat for chilly days. The view from up there was spectacular and private.

Also, direct beach access required us to walk down some big rocks. We just had to carry our kids, but this might be tough for those who aren't as mobile. There is easier beach access further down the beach.

Our family was on a budget, and I honestly think we got the most bang for our buck at this place compared to other vacations we have taken. Thank you!

Great stay, a bit outdated.

  • 4 of 5

A great location right on the beach, could use a bit of updating and they want you to wash, fold, and put away all towels, wash the dishes (no dishwasher) and also wash the sheets (you can leave them wet in the washer, but it takes 2 loads to wash all the sheets on all the beds so you have to plan to do 3 loads of laundry total) and that is with already paying a considerable cleaning fee. ....I'd rather pay a bit more and have someone do all of that!

The Crow's Nest on the Beach

  • 5 of 5

Good clean house. Great beach. Terrific views. Good location. Comfortable beds. Kitchen was well stocked. Nice outdoor areas. Enjoyed the Crow's Nest for quiet time and solitude. The only disappointment was the lack of counter tops in the kitchen for our family of four adults that like to cook together. We liked the openness of the kitchen, dining room, and living room.

We would definitely recommend and we would consider returning.

Location and view was amazing! Great central location as we worked our way from Tillamook to Cannon

  • 5 of 5

The location and view is perfect. Beach access very close, fire pit, supply of necessities and room was perfect for our group of four. We did bring paper products and plastic ware for eating most things due to lack of a dishwasher and didn't want to spend our great time doing dishes. If I were to make recommendations I would say more lighting in the bedrooms and some updating of the bathroom. The only plug in the bathroom wouldn't hold the cord of the curling iron in without falling out and one of the two light bulbs were burnt. Overall we had a fabulous stay and would recommend your place! Thank you for sharing it with us!
