About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a websitecould be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Oceanfront dream!

 • 5 of 5

This house was gorgeous, the amenities were abundant. There is nothing missing that you could need here to make your stay perfect! The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies, utensils, and spices! My husband was giddy because there was a trash compactor? Who knew. He just kept compacting trash like a kid. I couldn't stop laughing...I guess I was that happy about the griddle, so it is what it is haha.

I loved the bedroom, perfect view to wake up to in the morning. Mattress pad was uncomfortable, and it really hurt my back. It didn't bother my husband though-I would suggest if you are a stomach sleeper or prefer a firmer mattress to just remove it while your there.

Pros: location is incredible. (There is a public beach access basically in the backyard FYI) views are outstanding. The upper deck is beyond perfect for watching the sunsets or waking up to the waves with a great cup of coffee.

House has SO much to do! Books, games, ping pong, ladder golf, cornhole, fireplace, cable...it was awesome. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need-even a griddle and a kitchenaid mixer? I was in heaven too!

Cons: Public beach access literally at he backdoor comes with pros and cons. You'll see people coming and going all day. So if that doesn't bother you-then there really weren't any cons, this house was aweome.

The next con I feel bad even mentioning, but I think it's important for Vacasa to improve for future tenants:

Unfortunately we had 3 occasions where people who were working on fixing the roof or yard maintenance would show up without notice. Neither Vacasa or the property manager notified us that anyone would be on the property. At one point there was a man walking on the roof. Thank god we were outside, but had one of us been changing in the bedroom at the time, that would have not been good because the windows look out to the roof where he was at, and of course blinds were open. Another time two men were walking around the backyard while we were enjoying a lazy day in PJ's. Really?! They were nice guys picking up trash from a previous job on that site...but...really? And the third time someone came to mow the lawn while we were napping/watching tv downstairs. I feel like there was a serious breakdown in communication here for all of this to happen. I hope that Vacasa will communicate this clearer in the future. All the people were super nice, but when I am on vacation in a place like this, I don't come here to interact with others. I was expecting privacy, and would have appreciated and expected a heads up on this. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. I had 3 full days there, each day, some stranger made a surprise visit. For as much as they charge per night, that really bummed me out.

Otherwise, it was a great stay and the house is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your space with us!

Great week in Arch Cape

 • 4 of 5

We absolutely loved the house, especially the beautiful modern well equipped kitchen. The views, the ambiance and the peaceful nature of Arch Cape were incomparable. Our family had an amazing time. The only issue was they next door neighbor woman who was extreme in her enforcement of ensuring no one walked anywhere near her property, (very un-Oregon) and I'm not even sure legal as beach access is a right to all in Oregon. All in all a great stay!

Incredible view and acces to beach

 • 4 of 5

This is our second stay at this home and we love it here. The beach access is unbeatable and the view out the windows is gorgeous. The updated kitchen has everything you need to make your meals right there at home. The beds are comfortable and waking up to the sound of the ocean is wonderful. We stay here because of the beach and how quiet it is in this area of Arch Cape. The house could use some more updating but overall we would proably return.

Some pros and cons, but I think management company dropped the ball.

 • 3 of 5

Stayed here for a week with a group of 6 total.

We walked in to the place with water all over the bathroom floor on the main level. Toilet was leaking from two places. A dog dish and some towels had been placed underneath the toilet as the cleaning personnel noticed the leak and were trying to prevent additional damage. There was no note or anything along those lines in regards to next steps.

I couldn't find any tools in the house so I ran to local store and picked up some stuff for emergency patch job to prevent serious damage. I called management company and they indicated the cleaning staff had raised the issue earlier that day (seems good but no plan?). I indicated it needed to be fixed and would like a courtesy call once the time was set so we could secure our valuables. I heard nothing back all week. Ugh.

So while the external leaks were contained, the toilet reservoir leaked into the bowl all week, causing a slight refill of the reservoir every 2 minutes or so. In a nutshell, the toilet needs lower bolts and gaskets holding tank in place repaired, shut valve to fill toilet needs to be replaced, and shutoff valve at wall leaks slightly. All probably a 1 hr job for a plumber, but it needs scheduling.

Beyond the plumbing issue, here is a review on the rest of the place.

Pros

Location and beach access are great

Kitchen is pretty

TV is great for watching movies as it has Smart Hub for Amazon, Hulu, etc.

View from the master bedroom is wonderful

Main living room area is comfortable with great views

This would be a good house is someone had a pet.

Cons

The bathrooms in this place need some updates and repairs. Doors that won't close properly, sinks draining slowly, plumbing repairs needed, etc.

Child's bedroom with two small beds needs some repairs. Dresser is loose and likely needs replacement.

Blinds need some work. For example in kids room the blind is not fitting for the window. Others in house don't work correctly, etc.

Doors need lubricant as latches are rusty and require strength.

Not sure I would return given the state of the repairs needed.
