What makes this house unique

This house is located on a canal with beautiful views of the gulf. A few minutes walk away is the beach, or the bay. You get the best of both worlds!

Excellent house!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house & island! House is very comfy, with everything a person needs. It's so nice you walk to the beach in a couple minutes. It's so nice to sit on the deck and hear the waves coming in. We very much enjoyed our stay, & we would definitely stay here again.

Island Home a Few Steps from both the Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay

  • 5 of 5

My family had a great time at Pelican Place! I enjoyed many hours listening to the waves from the gulf while relaxing on the large deck overlooking the canal that connects to the Mobile Bay. Dauphin Island is very narrow at the point where this house is located which makes it really easy and quick to get to either side of the Island...the Gulf of Mexico side or the Mobile Bay side. The house was perfect for my family, extended family, and friends to enjoy. The living room couch and chairs were really comfortable as well as the beds. The home had all of the utensils, pots, pans, etc. we needed to cook several meals along with plenty of room to sit and enjoy the meals inside and outside of the house. The deck, down at the canal, had both a basket for catching crab (we caught one!) and a fish basket for containing all the fish we caught while fishing off of the deck.

The owners are very nice. We called/texted them a few times for this and that and their responses were quick and kind.

I highly recommend this property!

The property was as advertised; well kept and comfortable.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this property; the owners were very easy to work with and responsive to inquiries. The house was neat and clean, had all the amenities we needed. The internet never worked but that isn't a huge deal; close to the beach and loved sitting on the canal in the evening watching the sun go down. Worth considering for anyone looking for a nice place on the Island.

Owner's Response: I am so happy you were thoroughly pleased with your recent stay at the Beach-Bay-B. We also really enjoy sitting out on the canal and and enjoying the ocean and birds nearby. I am very sorry to hear you had problems with the internet. We normally have pretty good service, considering we are on an island. I wish someone has contacted us and we surely would have taken care of it in a jiffy for you. If you want to visit us again in the future I give you a discount for your troubles.

Relax and enjoy!

  • 5 of 5

Wow, what a week we had at the Beach Bay B! My family was celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary & I think it was a trip they won't forget. The home was perfect for us all, very clean and roomy with comfortable beds. There were several chairs for sitting outside, relaxing and enjoying the sounds of the waves. There was even a hammock to relax in. My dad enjoyed fishing from the canal and the bay, which was a very close walk. The beach was nice and only a short walk away too! We will definitely be back to stay. Many thanks to the owners for sharing their home with us!

Fall 2016 Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent six days in this beautiful home. Our trips had always been to Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. We were tired of the traffic, the noise and miles of highrise buildings. When I saw this home I knew we had to rent it. Home was beautifully decorated and furnished with everything we needed for our stay. We were joined by some family members for the weekend and never felt at all crowed. The large covered porch looking out over the canal and out to the Gulf became a wonderful gathering place. Even when we got rain showers we still sat there. We could walk over to the Gulf in front or the Sound behind us in just a matter of minutes. The mallard ducks kept us entertained as well as the other shore birds. We all agreed it was the perfect vacation spot and will definitely make this our "home" again next year! If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation I highly recommend Beach-Bay-B. Thanks for the opportunity Kellie and Duane!

Owner's Response: I am very pleased you and your family enjoyed your stay with us Faye. No traffic, no noise, what a wonderful combination huh? We also love the fact that the canal gives you great water access and that you have the ocean and bay just steps away! I am glad you enjoyed the open feel of the porch and that you made some memories! We would love to invite you back to our paradise :) Take care! Kellie & Duane @BeachBayB aka Pelican Place HGTV

The house was lovely, just like the pictures. The location was perfect.

We really enjoyed our visit to Beach Bay B. Even though we only had 2 1/2 days of good weather and the rest of our stay was rain torrential at times it didn't spoil our vacation. We were able to swim in the canal right in front of the house and my granddaughter really enjoyed that. It was only about 3 feet deep and it made her feel safe, she is only five. We could see the ocean from the front porch and when the storms hit we just watched the waves crashing. The people that we ran into where returning vacationers and came back to the island for many years. Dauphin Island was perfect. Very relaxing and laid back not at all commercial. We spent time both on the gulf side and the bay side as the house is right in the middle of both. Even with the bad weather we were able to enjoy the house and the front porch and the area underneath the house also as it had a swing. We watched and fed ducks and seagulls. On one of the days we took a drive into New Orleans, about a three hour drive. That was a nice day but that was when the rain hit and didn't stop. The locals on the island said they hadn't had weather like that in years that it was very unusual. On the Island itself there is a fort, Estuarium and bird sanctuary that we were unable to visit because of the weather but the locals told us that it was worth a visit. Definitely next time. We did get to picnic in a park on the bay just a couple of miles from the house. Kellie's house was perfect for us. The size was great and all of the bedrooms were of good size and having 2 1/2 bathrooms was a plus, there were four of us. My son and wife and granddaughter and myself. There wasn't a grocery store on the island but we took a nice drive to the mainland to a super Walmart's and got what we needed. Start up supplies were adequate, I would have liked to have seen a few more dish tabs and garbage bags but that was just a minor thought. Great house, great vacation would definately return. Thanks Kellie for sharing your property.

Owner's Response: I am very happy you enjoyed your stay with us.I hope you and your family will come back and visit us soon! Since we are literally right on the gulf we do see storms from time to time, and unfortunately sometimes they just pop up . There is a grocery store on the island called Ship & Shore. You actually pass it on your right as you come over the bridge. I would say it's a little over two miles from the house. It's a pretty good sized store with fresh produce and even movies to rent.I"m so sorry you didn't know, we have a hospitality page attached to our property that can help you next time. There should have been a list of all the items we leave in the house for our guest to start their stay us, such as paper goods and what not, and I am very sorry if you were inconvenienced in any way. Our goal is make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible! Thank you so much for staying with us :)

Dauphin Island offers an authentic taste of the beautiful Gulf Coast. A quaint, small southern town with a strong marine culture, an eclectic mix of locally owned shops and galleries, and laid-back restaurants that serve delicious locally harvested seafood. You’ll also find miles of uncrowded, pristine beaches, excellent fishing and a historic, storied past. And Dauphin Island has been designated as the “Sunset Capital of Alabama,” so you haven’t lived until you’ve experienced the approaching dusk of day from any point on the island.
