The shuttle will also take you to the Mt CB bus area where you can catch busses every 15 minutes that go into town where you will find great restaurants, shopping, theater and lots more. The free shuttle does not run on Castle Road in the summer, but it is a quick 4 minute walk to the bus stop in Pitchfork.

As you may already know, Crested Butte is located in a remote valley high in the Rocky Mountains. We have stunning mountain views from every direction. We are a vacation destination that really aims to please.

Also, the incredible mountain biking and fishing and hike and wonderful spring/summer/fall festivals make us a great year round vacation spot for people of all ages. Last minute bookings are less if we have availability. ABSOLUTELY NO PETS- (please don't ask for an exception) thanks and no dirt bikes or ATV's or trailers.

We will negotiate for longer rental periods. txt 9707991818; perfect for a couple or couple with child. one nighters ok during shoulder season or if last minute and we are not rented. This is a great ski condo, almost ski in, is a biking paradise, close to fly fishing and has great views. The unit has art work and skis all related to ski racing with rare posters that you will probably not even see in a museum. You can add another bedroom/bathroom for extra fee and it has posters and skis that tell the story of the Freestyle ski movement from the 70's. Lots of famous skiers have been here and signed skis and poster. Truly a one-of-a-kind gallery. We provide our guests with a check list of items to remember for the mountain climate. If you need a chef, we have a list. The restaurant lists will be sent before you arrive and also one will be in your welcome book. If you have never skied here, Paul will (for free) show you around on the mountain your first day of skiing for a few hours so you will know what runs work for your ability. We have lived here for 24 years. Check in is 4:00 and check out is 10:00. We do rent for longer periods but never July or Christmas. We rent the whole house then for groups of 10.

Lots of space for your bikes. We do not allow pets-no exceptions. Until December i block Dec 18 thru March 5 so i can calculate my house rentals which is vrbo 654032 ; after jan 1 i unblock the calendar for this unit based around my house rentals. ~MtCB Bolt Tax #18-666

About P Hooge

My husband and I have lived here for 23 years. We both Alpine and Nordic ski in the winter and do small hikes in the summer. Paul graduated from The Ohio State University with undergraduate degrees in history and anthropology and a PhD in art education. He also played varsity hockey there. Kathy graduated with a degree from Ohio State in education and business. Ohio was a great place to raise our children but we loved the mountains and chose Crested Butte for its diversity for year round activities and no humidity, no allergies and no bugs!

Why P Hooge chose Mount Crested Butte

It is so close to the lift so you can almost ski to the door (when there is snow) and the walk is about 5 minutes up to the West Wall Quad Lift. The free shuttle stops right at our drive way in the winter every 1/2 hour and it is a 5 minute walk to the bus stop in the summer. In the summer the bus will drop you off one street before or after Castle so you can then walk or you can be dropped off at the Town Square stop at the base of the mountain and it is a short walk. What a deal! It is quiet in the summer as Castle Road is a dead-end street and the wildflowers are stunningly beautiful right off of our decks. We are close to many of the bike and hiking trails in the summer. Our decks are 'second to none'. Everyone really enjoys the decks as the views are so incredible from here. Please note that summer of 2018, there will be construction near our place.

What makes this condo unique

less than 5 minute walk to lift and close to bike trails. Bus is 4 minute walk in Summer and right at the door in winter. The unit is decorated in rare posters about skiing in the 1960's and 70's and the bedroom has a display about climbing and glaciers. This is a one-of-a-kind unit! Great for .adults and children. NO pets allowed.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Liked the unit and the neighborhood so much that we bought a unit on Castle Road. You can walk to the lifts and the free shuttle stops out front. This unit has excellent furnishings and the owner has maps and guides available which makes the stay easy. Highly recommend.

People say this is the best deal on the mountain. You can rent the unit as a one bedrm unit (sleeps 3) or can add an extra bedrm/bath that sleeps another 2 for an extra fee. We have amazing gardens in the summer and great privacy. Castle is a dead-end street and the condo is an end unit known as a Caretaker unit attached to a home (570 square feet) and very quiet and private with 2 magnificent decks with views of Whetstone Mountain and Mt. Emmons. The free bus stops 5 minutes away in the summer and stops at the driveway in the winter. You don't need a car to stay here. The airport shuttle will pick you up and drop off at the house (there is a charge). You can almost ski down at the end of the day to the driveway and it is a quick 5 minute walk up to the slopes on the ski easement next door. Children also love this place summer and winter I send guests an activity sheet for your stay.We do not allow pets and we do not accept dirt bikes or ATV's or trailers on the property. Thanks

Amazing unique condo-great location-awesome art collection!

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed at this condo the first weekend of February this year. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The location is prime-quick shuttle to the mountain and to town and you can almost ski in (have to walk a quarter mile downhill). The condo is covered in a very impressive collection of ski pictures and posters. Kathy, the owner was also extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, tips on using the shuttles and she even drove me down to the base to get me a lift ticket using her buddy pass! She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. I would look no further for an affordable classic ski condo in the Butte! Can't wait to stay here again.

Kathy and Paul could not have been more accommodating. The condo is tastefully decorated with skiing memorabilia and history. All condo amenities are clean and in new condition. I would highly recommend this for an authentic ski town experience.

Wonderful condo!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. The bed was very comfy and the unit is furnished with really nice antiques and high end furniture. The kitchen is well stocked and the artwork and ski memorabilia is really a unique and interesting collection. We stayed here at the end of September on our tour of the Aspens and really liked the Mt. Crested Butte area. Kathy is so nice and really helpful. We highly recommend this condo and look forward to staying here again!

Great Accommodations and Location

  • 5 of 5

The condo was just as described, clean, spacious, comfortable, and full of ski art! Kathy and Paul are very friendly, gracious hosts that keep an amazing house with lots of amenities. We enjoyed the balconies overlooking the town and the location was perfect for mountain biking, hiking, running, or skiing.

We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for accommodations in Mt Crested Butte. The town is a short drive (or bike ride/walk on the paved recreational path) with lots of amazing restaurants.

The End unit is next to the ski easement and the parking area next to house is very flat. Kids love the place as they like to build snowmen. In the summer, the condo is great as there is lots of storage area for your bikes and the bike paths are close by. Castle Road is a dead-end street so fairly quiet. We have many people rent the extra bedrm/bath lock out (hence the reviews for groups of 5).
