Where romance meets adventure!
About Linda Shannon
After a lifetime of living abroad our goal was always to settle in Montana and build a log home. In 2012 we were able to realize this dream when we were lucky enough to find our "perfect" property while enjoying the magic of Christmas in Whitefish. Combining a childhood in the American West and another from rural New Zealand we shared a passion for the western history, culture, activities and lifestyle. The majesty of the Big Sky Country and an endless array of activities to suit all tastes and interests, in all seasons, led us to where we are today. Why Linda Shannon chose Whitefish
This location provided us with the serenity of a rural setting with easy access to shopping, dining and entertainment in nearby towns. Proximity to Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall Wilderness and the great outdoors of northwestern Montana are all within easy access.
What makes this Studio unique
Living in such a beautiful, quiet, secluded area and being so close to Whitefish and all that this area has to offer makes our property quite unique. It's impossible not to feel both relaxed and invigorated. Our guest accommodations are self contained with a fully equipped kitchen so you can eat in or dine out. Vintage and antique touches make it appear like you have stepped back in time and give the space a really elegant and cozy feel. A vintage claw foot bath tub allows you the opportunity to enjoy an al fresco bathing experience that leaves you invigorated and renewed.

Best vacation rental experience ever. Thanks to Linda and Ted for making this happen.
Everything was perfect down to the smallest detail. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning watching the bird. We would definitely stay here again if we have a chance to come back to the area
Thanks so much for your kind review Carol. We enjoyed meeting you and Larry. It is always gratifying when we know that our guests have truly enjoyed our place. Knowing that we have an interesting bird watching environment is a plus !

Your thoughtfulness and enjoyment of both The Old Wagon Wheel and northwest Montana are one of the reasons we enjoy doing this. We would love to welcome you back if should visit our area again.
Home away from home.
We will be going back! From the time we arrived until we left every detail was so special! We felt so at home in this cozy cabin. We also got to experience the wildlife around the cabin. The Perfect Stay
What an incredible 7 night stay at The Old Wagon Wheel! A little off the beaten path, this lovely guest suite was so relaxing after a day of adventure. From the adorable western decor, linen bed sheets, fresh fruit, sourdough bread, huckleberry jam, and those amazing delectable sweet treats that found their way into our suite each day , we were truly spoiled!
Linda and Ted were wonderful hosts..... and shared great recommendations for eateries in Whitefish as well as their favorite hiking trails in Glacier Park . This vacation will not be one we will quickly forget! We HIGHLY recommend The Old Wagon Wheel.... If you want to really relax and be pampered at the same time.... do not hesitate staying here!
Thank you so much for your kind words and glowing review. We so enjoyed meeting you both and were fortunate to have you as guests. We are really pleased that you not only enjoyed our accommodations but you were able to appreciate and experience the beautiful area in which we live.

Our stay at The Old Wagon Wheel was beyond wonderful! Linda and Ted were the ultimate hosts!
We loved every moment of our stay at The Old Wagon Wheel. Linda and Ted were so welcoming and helpful. The setting was incredibly beautiful and tranquil. We loved being able to visit with their two horses. The location in White Fish was ideal- remote enough to avoid tourists, yet only 15 minute or so drive into the charming town. It is close enough to explore Glacier National Park, and many other hiking areas near White Fish. Ted and Linda were happy to answer any questions and to provide whatever guidance we requested regarding activities and travel. The pictures on the website of The Old Wagon Wheel are lovely, yet it is even more stunning in person. The place is gorgeous, yet so comfortable. Linda thought of everything possible to make our stay perfect. She and Ted were such gracious hosts. It was sad to say good-bye but we definitely intend to return, perhaps to explore the area during a different season.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we are very appreciative and are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We would very much enjoy having you stay with us again and perhaps we could have a little more time to visit. Thanks for the music as well. Safe travels
This charming cabin does not disappoint!
Where to start! This place was a complete surprise. EVERYTHING was as it was advertised and actually better! If Ted and Linda Valentiner could curate every home rental, we would stay in one every time! Spotless and full of thoughtful touches for their guests, this rustic and quaint cabin blows every other VRBO out of the water. The entire time I was in Montana, we kept commenting on how lucky we were to be staying there.
The pictures in the listing are nice but being there for real is immensely better. The attention to detail was very thoughtful; you can tell there is a lot of pride taken in preparing the cabin for our stay! The cabin was perfectly well thought out for guests to feel at home with peaceful aesthetically pleasing decor. The cabin was immaculate - not a speck of dust or even a fingerprint and the design and fixtures of the whole place are comfortable yet beautifully decorated. The cabin had all the conveniences and amenities one could need for a short or long stay and even some things we never thought we would need.
Trust me when I say, you will never find more attentive and thoughtful VRBO owners. Ted and Linda have set the bar high! They are terrific and unobtrusive hosts - from having our dishes washed and all refreshments replenished to the fresh chocolates and pastries every day, they make sure to accommodate to the tiny details of making sure your stay is comfortable and relaxing. Ted and Linda - thank you so much for ensuring everything was to our satisfaction. We loved your home and appreciate you sharing it with us.
This charming cabin is a great retreat from the heat, city life, or just for a little well deserved relaxation. Here you are close enough to all the attractions, yet far enough from the noise of the city and freeways to enjoy a bit of nature. If you haven't had a getaway like this, you are missing out. Double thumbs up on this one, we highly recommend!
I am doing some administrative work on our VRBO site and I realized that we had not responded to your truly outstanding review from last summer. I am so sorry for the delay in acknowledging one of the best reviews we have ever received. We are so grateful that you were willing to take the time and effort to provide such a glowing review. Your enjoyment of our place is a gift in itself but to know that we are deserving of such praise it truly gratifying.
Once again, our sincere apologies for the delay and our immense gratitude for your kind words.

In addition to all the nearby trails and lakes minutes from our property, we are 37 miles from Glacier National Park (approx. one hour) widely considered to be the "Crown of the Continent". The activities in Glacier National Park are virtually limitless, from driving Going-to-the-Sun-Road, taking a red bus tour, canoeing, horse back riding, hiking, viewing the wild life and much, much more.
If you are looking for a quiet rural setting but want nearby amenities, downtown Whitefish is only 15 minutes away and has a variety of amazing shops and restaurants.
