Stay in downtown Glenwood Springs just steps from Glenwood's best restaurants, nearly every activity is within easy walking distance. This 1500 sq ft, 2 bedroom unit built in the late 1800's is located upstairs in what was once the Palace Hotel. It has been completely renovated with some of the old things still in tact. Look at the doors; they are the original ones from the 1890's with the room numbers still on them. Doc Holiday is rumored to have stayed here. If you are coming from the Front Range consider taking Amtrak as the train station is only 2 blocks from the Watersweeper Loft. No hassles with Glenwood Canyon.

Going up the stairs you will find yourself on a great, large deck with a stone top table ,firepit and BBQ grill. Go thru the door into the enclosed sun porch and sitting area. Enter the main door and you are in the old hotel hallway. On the left is western bedroom with a queen bed. On the right is the master bedroom with a king bed occupying what was once two hotel rooms. Next is the bath and laundry. There is a Jacuzzi tub and vanity in one room and a shower and vanity in another room. In the front you will find a complete kitchen with everything you could need and the dining room-living room area to complete the wonderful Loft with a great blend of old and new.

About Scott & Nicole Nelson

We are Scott & Nicole Nelson and purchased the Watersweeper building in 2015. Nicole has been the owner of the downstairs business, Elizabeth Dean Boutique since 2010. We were both born and raised in Glenwood Springs and love living here, so we have an extensive knowledge of things to do and the history of the area. We are both very active and enjoy the multitude of outdoor activities that are available in and around Glenwood Springs.

Well located, had bedding for only 2 of the 3 beds and unable to reach owners for

Well located and nice home. The only issue we ran into the first night was they had bedding for only 2 of the 3 beds set up and we reserved for 6 people. We were unable to reach the owners and got no call back by the time we settled in 9:30/10pm. An emergency back up would be helpful.

Location, locatiom, location

Such a lovely place - perfect for our quickie trip to Glenwood Springs. Everything was easily within walking distance. So convenient to have fantastic restaurant choices on the same block. Short fun walk to the tram and Ironwood as well.

The loft itself easily accommodated our 2 boys plus grandma. We enjoyed wine on the sunny deck and all of the amazing decorator touches. The original doors were a hit as well.

We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - so much more relaxing, economical and convenient than the hotels.

Deck bummer!

The location of this rental is very good. It has access on an alley way and the living room windows face the main street. It is close to food and shopping. The parking space is very tight to get into in the alley. The big reason this was chosen, was for the deck. Construction by the owner was going on constantly the whole time there. Sitting outside in the afternoon and evening, I was sprinkled with sawdust every time the wind blew. The work went on past 7pm even on Saturday. This deck will have no privacy even after the work at their new rental next door is completed. The next door property has a deck on the same level in clear view. Above the deck on the roof of the new rental is another deck for events which looks right down on this deck. If you don't mind no privacy or will not be using the deck, then this is a decent spot. There is construction on a new bridge in front of the unit. Other than some traffic congestion, that was not a problem.

Owner's Response: John, We're sorry that you weren't able to enjoy the deck as much as you hoped. We do not own the property next door and have nothing to do with the construction and cannot control what they do. We always inform them when we have guests staying and request as much courtesy as possible. I do know that they are putting in privacy fences so the privacy on our deck will remain.

Perfect!

We usually stay across the bridge in a large hotel, but not anymore! This loft is so convenient to all the shops and restaurants downtown. When the pedestrian bridge is completed in the spring, the hot springs pool will be less than a five minute walk! The property is very comfy and spacious. You can tell the owners put a lot of love into making it so nice.
