Perfect Place to Stay

The cottage was the perfect place to stay to enjoy Laguna Beach. A quick walk to the beach and downtown, close drive to hiking trails and amazing scenery. Everything on the “business side” was easy (communication, check-in/check-out) and the cottage was clean and the perfect size for our group of 6. Definitely recommend!

disappointing condition

Sleeper sofa mattresses were very worn and terribly stained. not useable. AC barely worked and it happened to be very warm that week. The unit never cooled down the cottage. The floor fans that were provided did not work. There was a terrible sewer gas smell in the upstairs shower whenever it was used. The unit was very tired and in need of significant repairs and updating.

Not as expected

Our poor experience started out when we could the provided entry code did not work. When we contacted the property manager, he realized it had not been cleaned. He said he would get ahold of a cleaner and let us know when it was ready. We finally got in at 9 pm instead of the promised 3 pm. The next day we realized that we did not have internet connection or TV. The only channel we got was a shopping channel. My daughter had planned to work from this rental, so this was not acceptable. Working with the property manager we finally got access to TV and the internet 2 days later. This was unacceptable to kids and adults alike. The kitchen was very under stocked. We did not cook there. The beds were comfortable and the two bedrooms large, but the close proximity of businesses, and the crashing from a recycling plant made for a very unrelaxing stay. I would not recommend this property. It is definitely not as described and we did not have a good experience.

Location, location, location!

Such a great spot in Laguna Beach! Walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants, just between the HIP District and downtown area. It was so easy to navigate around town! As another reviewer noted, the furnishings are not the same as pictured on the listing. This was a bit of a disappointment, but didn’t put a damper on our trip. We would gladly stay again if the living room and patio had more seating options for a family of four.

Excellent location, inaccurate photos and other issues

First, the photos of the property are totally inaccurate. There is no table outside on the patio. The table inside the unit was tiny (4 people could not eat at it), so we were counting on that outside table to eat on. The couch, chairs and coffee table pictured in the living room are not the ones in the unit. The ones in the unit are very poor quality. The photos of the loft are also inaccurate. The loft does not have those cute folding chairs. It has a low quality sofa with gross stains on the pull-out couch. The photo of the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are accurate. The coffee maker did not work (the water leaks out of the bottom), the toaster was unusable, and there was only 1/3 of a roll of paper towels and no kitchen towels (as pictured). If you have small children, this is not the place for you. There are a lot of stairs between each room, so many places for toddlers to climb and fall. Overall, the location was great, but the condition of the home is much different than pictured in the listing. The cleanliness was average. I would not recommend this listing to a family, but it would be fine for a couple (as long as you don't need coffee or a toaster).

This rental is in a fantastic location and in a quiet neighborhood. We had a malfunctioning coffee pot and Neil quickly remedied the situation. We have a great a great stay.

What a perfect Laguna Beach location, nothing o would change about it. Thankyou

In town for daughters swim meet in Irvine, but wanted to stay closer to the beach. This was the perfect distance (20 mins from pool) and walkable to beach, shopping, eating, everything!

Perfect Location!

This Vrbo was perfect for our group of 5! It was just as pictured and had everything we needed. It even had 2 irons and a hairdryer which came in handy as we were attending a wedding reception one night. We rented a car but didn’t even end up moving it from the provided parking spot all weekend because everything was within walking distance!

Beach goodness

A wonderful respite near the center of town, walkable to everything. A small house set in back, but had plenty of space for the three of us. Would recommend and would love to come back.

Local Laguna Living!

Great cottage in an amazing location. Super comfy beds and and clean bathrooms and linens. The private patio and easy parking were a plus too! One minor note: there were some beach chairs and umbrella on the side of the cottage but they were in disrepair. The only suggestion I'd make would be to update those items...would be nice amenities to include with a beach cottage. However, this would not preclude us from visiting this property again! Thank you!

Lovely cottage

We loved the cottage, the location, the patio… the only issue we had is the refrigerator went out so we lost some food and couldn’t chill Champagne we brought to take to the Pageant. We sent texts to the property manager but he didn’t respond for a few hours and we had already gone out. We left the next morning so it didn’t get fixed while we were there so we tossed food. Hopefully they replace the refrigerator. It was old and seals weren’t tight before it went out. I would stay again and highly recommend.

An authentic beach cottage

Location is amazing, the cottage is cozy, sweet and simple. It’s stocked with the essentials and located in the most ideal setting. The ocean, downtown, grocery, shopping, a garden to gather with family with friends.

Nice vacation for family

Enjoyed stay very much. No pool, though listed as amenity. Very convenient to everything. A few things were missing- strainers for sink, bathtub plug, pasta strainer. Bedrooms very comfortable. Fairly quiet at night, except a bit noisy on weekend. In general, a very comfortable stay. I would have liked to meet the manager one time in the beginning of stay. Sarah

Adorable

Perfect little place for our visit to Laguna Beach. We loved the location. Just a quick few steps down the block and down the stairs to the beach. Grocery store and Circle K are literally around the corner. Had a great little private area to enjoy our meals and family time outside. Was the house big? No, but that’s what made it perfect!

The property was wonderfully located. The kitchen was poorly stocked. There were no extra trash bags or any towels to dry dishes with. No ice trays to fill up in the freezer, so no ice! The overall charm factor was good though!

Pleasant stay near the beach

We enjoyed visiting Laguna beach cottage. We stayed in the yellow cottage and had a great time. The location was perfect (a few short blocks to the beach) and there was plenty of reserved on site parking (street parking can be challenging on the weekend in Laguna beach. The place was very clean, organized, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the outdoor patio, which was secluded and quiet, as well as the outdoor seating area near in the main yard. Thanks for the great memories!

Great house

House is small but has everything you need. Great use of space and the patio is amazing. I think we ended up spending half our time on the patio. I would definitely stay here again.
