Great place!

The cabin was wonderful. Check in was easy and the cabin was great! Our sun loved the pool table and the game system. The cabin was nice and clean when we arrived. We will definitely be booking again when we return to the great smoky mountains.

Loved our 3 night stay

We absolutely loved this cabin for our getaway. The cabin had everything we needed from kitchen items, bathroom towels, entertainment and cleanliness! The hot tub water was clean and warm. I wish the grill was taller and the cabin was easier to find but we definitely give this cabin and the owners Randy and Melissa, a big thumbs up👍

Very comfy setting

We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary this past weekend and the Sugarbear Hideaway cabin exceeded our expectations! The drive up to the cabin was not too bad and it was located just miles from everything. We enjoyed the hot tub and the pool table. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Quiet, relaxing and peaceful

I stayed there for four night. This cabin is secluded and peaceful. The owners went above and beyond! Even gave me a list of recomendations for dinning, adventure, sites, etc. this cabin is right in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Beautiful cabin

Loved the cabin. The location is very convenient for sightseeing. Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Dollywood and the Smokies all nearby. Randy and Melissa are very easy to work with. Our only issue was that the road leading to the cabin is narrow and steep and some of the other drivers can be reckless.

Obviously the terrain here in the mountains is different from New York but regulars here would consider the incline to be moderate. There are obviously a few curves while coming up any mountain but future guest should know that we always rent economy 4-cylinders when flying in and never have any concerns. Wonderful Get Away

We recently stayed at this cabin for our 30th wedding Anniversary. We loved the cabin, the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed the deck and hot tub after our hiking trips. Randy went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. We didn't want to leave. We will definitely give him a call when we are back in the area.

Homey

This was our 6th cabin rental in the area and the first time an owner has communicated so well before, during and after. Cabin was cute and cozy. You are definitely tucked up in the mountain and seemed to be a bit echoey with the neighbors. We could hear them talking or playing music when we were outside but this didn't have an effect on our stay and enjoying the quiet and calmness that the mountains bring.

One of our best vacation experiences ever!

My wife and I were looking for a place to celebrate our tenth anniversary. We wanted something secluded and comfortable, but we also wanted something close to fun activities. This cabin scored big on both points. The cabin had the perfect combination of rustic charm and all the latest amenities, including a game room and a hot tub overlooking the Smoky Mountains. The cabin itself is conveniently located within five minutes of both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, yet is far enough off the beaten path that you can easily retreat into seclusion. The owners of the cabin, Randy & Melissa, were extremely helpful, prompt, courteous, and friendly. We look forward to staying with them again!

Perfect mountain getaway

Our return visit to Sugar Bear Hideaway was a repeat of our spring visit - excellent in every way. Perfectly situated between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and with easy access to the bypass to the Smokies, this cabin felt like home. At the end of each day’s hike, we were able to relax in the hot tub or unwind upstairs with a game of pool or video arcade games. Upon Sunday evening arrival we noted a small issue and informed the owners. It was taken care of by Monday morning. The owners are attentive to guests’ needs and their responses are always immediate. They strive to give guests the best possible experience. Thank you, Randy and Melissa!

Was supposed to be Mountain View all we seen was trees

Nothing be trees... and owner had camera that he texted us while we was staying there had top off of hot tub said he could see that the top was off of it and was going to reset the breaker or whatever it was... I’m like wait a minute how can you see the hot tub really? You have cameras on us? He never replied after that... and water in hot tub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned from last tennant. Wasn’t too happy with this stay honestly

No where on our listing do we promote mountains views---only seclusion which all our guest seem to enjoy. We only have a Ring door bell on the front door for security reasons and to give our guest one-button access to us should they have spotty cell coverage in the mountains--nothing at all on the back or around the hot tub area--we greatly value our guest privacy! Guest text must have been sent to another or I would have immediately clarified his misunderstanding. Guest claimed second day of having an issue with temperature on the hot tub and I asked if they had the hot tub cover on while trying to heat it up--said it was on but from this review must not have been on being that they thought I could see that it wasn't on. I asked if they may check for an error messages on control panel and advised we would be happy to walk them thru a simple reset from the breaker box if they let me know when arrive back at the cabin in case they accidentally clicked buttons to put hot tub into an economy mode that would prevent proper heating. Upon check-out--hot tub was heating with the cover on and assumed to have been used. Hot tub is drained/cleaned/refilled and treated for every arrival.

Just right!

Sugarbear Hideaway was exactly what we hoped it would be! We have been to this area many, many times and you never really know what you are getting until you get there but on this one, we hit a homerun! The drive up to the cabin was not too steep and scary, there was a flat parking space so unloading was easy, and the cabin itself was just perfect for our family of 3! Our 10 year old son loved the arcade and pool table in the loft. The cooking utensils were high end, and the hot tub was used daily! With all these great things, our favorite thing was location, location, location!! This cabin is located in the perfect area. We could get to town easily and quickly. The owner Randy was a delightful to speak with and an attentive host and I feel I have made a new friend. We are looking forward to visiting SugarBear again!

clean, cozy, great owners

We rented the cabin near Pigeon Forge so we could visit Great Smoky Mountains National Park (and because Randy was so great to deal with). The cabin was clean and comfortable. It is simple but has everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. It's great to be able to do laundry there. Randy was extremely helpful while planning and during our stay. It rained a lot during our vacation. The day that there were flood watches out, we stayed at the cabin and played pool and used the game console. It was fun to have those available. The traffic in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg is heavy and slow, especially on the weekends. Plan for it. It can be heavy in the park as well. We didn't spend too much time in the the towns. The Old Mill area was really nice. Our goal was to spend as much time as possible in the park. What a lovely area! If you end up needing car repair while you're there, we recommend Thomas Auto Service and Repair in Sevierville. They were great when we broke a shock in the park.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We spepaved. e holiday in this cabin with our family of four. The kids loved the video arcade upstairs and the hot tub. We loved the location and cozy feel of the cabin. The hosts (Randy and Melissa) were very professional and responsive. We had a minor issue with the hot tub water temp and Randy made some calls for us and it was fixed by the time we returned from our hike. They provided consistent communication and gave us some pointers on restaurants and entertainment suggestions. The cabin it self was nice and decorated for Christmas. We enjoyed the timed gas fireplace. We set it for 30 minutes and the kids fell asleep on the pullout watching the flames. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances, utensils, flatware and glassware. The washer and dryer came in handy for warm towels for the kids. We wished the shower head were bigger and sprayed a consistent stream of water. It was a little dated and needed cleaning. The location was perfect for access to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and the roads leading to the property weren't too steep and were well paved. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent from the hosts again.

Great Family Getaway!

Love love loved this cabin. The location in the Sky Harbor area is perfect - 5 minutes to Pigeon Forge and 10 to Gatlinburg. The kitchen was very well stocked - no cheap and run down pots and pans - all good quality grade and perfect for making dinner, even baking some cookies! The secluded location of the cabin was just perfect, very quiet and no cabins immediately around. My husband and son loved playing pool every night as well as the arcade game. The only suggestion I would give is perhaps adding a dresser of some kind in the bedroom as there was no where for us to store our belongings other than on top of the rolling rack. The couch in the living room has seen better days but served it's purpose. Randy was absolutely wonderful to work with, even calling us to help with the television operation when the remote did not work. Silly me had it on the wrong input! Although it rained just about everyday of our 5 day stay it was still breathtakingly beautiful! Autumn in the Smokies is the best place to be! Every time the skies cleared we were able to quickly drive to G-burg for the motor trail and the needle. We were even fortunate enough to see two bear cubs on our drive up to Clingmans Dome. Overall we loved the cabin and it's location - will definitely keep Sugar Bear Hideaway on the short list!

Excellent cabin at a good location!

My wife and I stayed at Sugar Bear Hideaway and had an awesome time. For starters, the cabin's location sits in the mountains between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and it's a scenic drive up to the cabin. The location allows for easy access to all the tourist attractions in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville. Nothing we did was more than a 20 min drive away from the cabin. We both have VZW and had good reception from the cabin, enough to make multiple calls to family during our stay. However, we ended up using the cabin's wifi to pull up GPS/Navigation destinations on our phones before heading out anywhere because there is certain places in the mountains where our reception is spotty and we didn't want to end up lost in one of these areas. Additionally, the location is nice and quiet and though you do have neighbors, there is plenty of distance and trees between you. With that being said, the cabin is surrounded by tall trees and it sits at the slope of the mountain so you won't get a whole lot of mountain views if that's what you're looking for. As far as the cabin itself goes, it was gorgeous! It's cozy, roomy, and well equipped. As soon as you come in the front door all you see is beautiful wooden walls, high ceilings, and numerous windows. Most of the windows have shades and curtains for those times where a little more privacy is needed. The cabin has a full kitchen recently restocked with brand new kitchen ware. Also available to you are a washer/dryer to clean clothes after a day in the smokies/outdoors or simply to return home with clean clothes. For those days you just want to stay at the cabin and relax, there's plenty to do including a pool table, an arcade game machine, jacuzzi, hot tub, a nice porch, and a decent entertainment center consisting of a flat screen TV, dvd player & dvds, as well as cable/internet/phone (Charter Spectrum Triple play). Besides the location and the cabin itself, the owner's genuine generosity and kindness made our stay that much more enjoyable. He made sure to get in contact with us before, during, and after our stay to ensure we would have the best possible experience. I guarantee all of this will make you want to come back time and time again! I would definitely recommend this to any one, any couple, or any small family looking to stay in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area that wants to enjoy the Great Smokey Mountains or tourist attractions in the area, or both!

Excellent

We stayed here for spring break and loved it. The owners kept in touch gave us great info on places to eat and do. Cabin was clean and stocked. Road directly to cabin is small and driveway is kinda steep we did fine driving an SUV plus we are used to country roads. We would definitely stay with this company again

All roads paved to cabin--we rent economy when here and the slight incline of driveway to a level parking area provide the elevation over road that will allow you to feel to yourself while here at the cabin which our guest certainly appreciate.
