Alden Sunrise Cabin In Quaint Downtown Alden Near Torch Lake

Located in the in the quaint little village of Alden, pristinely nestled on the sunset shore of Torch Lake, Alden Sunset Cabin is located within a stones throw of beautiful Torch Lake. While not located on the lake, you will be so close that on a quiet night you may be able to hear the waves lap against the shore or the loons sing to each other as the sun sets. Enjoy a camp fire in your own fire pit, hang out on your patio while grilling dinner on your own Weber grill or just relax in the totally renovated log cabin with all the modern amenities and comforts of home. The Alden Sunset Cabin provides parking for 2 vehicles and additional space for a boat trailer on the property. The cabin offers your family (4 people or less) the perfect setting to explore the wonderful world of Torch Lake and Alden.

If you need a 2nd Cabin or just a slightly larger cabin please check out our other cabin. Alden Sunset Cabin (VRBO # 2393347) is located directly next door. Alden Sunset Cabin is virtually identical to Alden Sunrise Cabin with the exception that Alden Sunset Cabin is slightly larger and provides a separate bedroom.

Why would anyone stay in a hotel??

Walk to Alden or Public Beaches or Accesses

The Alden Sunset Cabin is located within a ¼ mile of four public beaches (lake accesses) located along Lake Street which is easily accessed by way of a short trail through the woods on our property. The public beaches are open during the day for your enjoyment and provide a wonderful setting for your family to enjoy the beautiful water of Torch Lake. The public beaches (lake accesses) DO NOT allow overnight mooring of your boat or water craft and are closed at night. Please don’t do this.

Alden Sunset Cabin is a short 1/4 mile walk as well from downtown Alden – a charming small town with a spirit you have to experience to believe. Alden is known for its flower-lined streets where everyone you meet offers a friendly greeting. Alden has several restaurants, and Higgins General Store that has the best, biggest, ice cream cones you could ever eat. The town has cute boutique stores, a deli, family bar, tennis and basketball courts, and a park with a playground. Just at the end of the road are the public boat launch, library and community center. The popular Dockside restaurant is just 10 minutes away by boat or car. Torch Lake’s famous sandbar is also a short boat ride away at the southern end of the lake.

Comfortable Family Cottage

Alden Sunset Cabin is fully furnished and provides central air conditioning for those extra hot summer nights as well as Flat Screen Cable TV and Wi-Fi. We supply all linens, pillows, towels, paper products and soap products. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishes and all pots and pans as well as a dining table which seats four. We provide a queen sized, pillow top bed along with a pull out couch that converts to a queen size bed. The patio provides a Weber Grill along with an outside table and seating for four. We also provide several comfortable chairs for your relaxation. You can’t go “up north” without enjoying a camp fire and the cabin has its own fire pit along with 4 chairs for everyone’s comfort.

Alden Sunset Cabin is located within the village of Alden on SE Torch Lake Drive and has access to Lake Street which is a very quiet street via a wooded trail west of the cabin. We encourage you to utilize this trail for walks and bike rides. Alden Sunset Cabin has a maximum occupancy of 4 people.

My family has lived on this street for over 50 years and we have made life long friends. We respect their right for quiet enjoyment of beautiful Torch Lake and we ask that you do the same. Our summer home is located directly adjacent to the Alden Sunset Cabin.

Great Cozy Cabin

This cabin was very nice. It was the perfect size for 2 adults. Shops in Alden are super close and lake access with a beach was about a 5 minute walk. It’s also about a minute drive. The cabin is close to Alden highway but it didn’t seem to be very noisy at all. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay. Great place for a dog too. It was clean, perfect amount of space, and so close to Torch Lake. We walked to a public access close by to paddleboard and watch the sunset. Very close to the sandbar public access. The host was very kind and accommodating. We even walked to Alden a few times. We will be back for sure!

This is a great small cabin for a couple or someone with one child/two small children. Its a studio type cabin, so not really meant to hang out in days on end, but rather a great touch-down cabin within walking distance to Alden, and full kitchen features should you need them. Only complaint was the windows are thin and you can hear the road pretty well (on the Sunrise cabin side). May be a little quieter on the Sunset cabin side, but road noise can be a bit loud if you are not used to that. Other than that, totally recommend it!

Perfect location! My husband and I biked everywhere we went! (except to put in/take out our water crafts. But was the shortest drive with many launching locations near by) the cabin had everything we needed and more. There was a very private access point within a 5 minute walk from the cabin that we enjoyed our morning coffee at every morning! We’ve stayed in various areas around torch lake over the years, and this was not only the closest to the lake, but one of the most charming. Alden is our favorite town to visit when coming to torch. And this cabin couldn’t be located in a better spot in town!

This is a great little place located in a beautiful quaint town. Very clean, the right size for 2 people and a dog, and very close to the lake, which was nice. Cabin appeared to be fairly new, decent appliances, a gas grill, and was well kept. Manager was very helpful and easy to contact and they gave great instructions on the cabin and local things to do - which was nice since we have never been to the area before. Our only disappointment was it was very close to a busy road - which could be noisy at times. There are two units, and the back (west) unit is further away from the road and more private - wish we could have had that one instead.

The peace and serenity of a Northern Michigan cabin near the lake, with the comforts of home

The cabin was absolutely perfect for our needs. It was well-stocked and maintained, the a/c worked great, the water pressure too, it was clean, centrally located and a wonderful, relaxing retreat at the end of a busy and fun-filled day. My boyfriend, I and our 2 dogs stayed the week and never wanted to leave. We rented a pontoon and spent a few days on Torch Lake, walked Lake St to watch the sun set and rise, go to the beach or get coffee in Alden, we went to the sandbar, did a lot of swimming, visited Traverse City, Charlevoix and Petoskey and all of the nearby lakes, we went shopping, had a few campfires at the cabin and ate dinner every night on the patio. We even brought our own small boat and trailer and were able to use the nearby launches with ease. The owner, Paul, was very attentive and quick to answer any questions we had about the cabin or even nearby things to do or places to go. It felt like we had our own tour guide. Thank you again for helping to make our vacation to Torch Lake a wonderful stay!

Noisy

Located in Alden this was a good base camp for our adventure. When we walked in, everything looked spotless, but after being in there a day we started to notice all of the spiderwebs and spiders. The bed was okay, but the pull out couch desperately needs a new mattress. It would be ok for little kids, but not for an adult. I was lucky to have camped on my way to MI so I had my air bed. And last but not least. The noise from the highway was awful. A fence or a hedge would help a little but being so close to a busy road it was just plain noisy.

My family has been coming to Torch Lake and Alden for nearly 60 years. We fell in Love with the beautiful water, the incredible sunsets and the greatest little village in Michigan and we bet you will too.

When God created the most perfect little village - he created Alden and to make it even better, he put it on the shores of the 3rd most beautiful lake in the world.

Why they chose this property

In June of 2015 we finished the complete renovation of this wonderful log cabin. While the cabin offers all the amenities you would expect in a hotel room we preserved the northern michigan feel you can only get from a real log cabin.

The cabin offers a fully furnished kitchen including stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator / freezer along with Wi-Fi and a flat screen TV. Everything is brand new from the bed to the pots and pans.

It also offers a large patio which features outside dining for 4 with an umbrella to provide shade on those sunny Northern Michigan days along with a Weber propane grill and additional seating to insure your comfort.

If you're looking for a comfortable, perfectly located cabin with all the amenities of home - you found it.

The most unique benefit of Alden Sunset Cabin is the close proximity to Torch Lake which is located within a stones throw combined with its close proximity to Alden which is a short 1/4 mile walk down Lake Street and widely considered the most beautiful street in Alden.
