It will take you 2 minutes walking distance to cross the street and arrive in the beach know as Playa Tortugas where the Ferry station is also located (to go to Isla Mujeres). Public Transportation is available just at your doorstep, very easy to use and move around the whole hotel zone for 12 pesos the ride (less than 1 usd). Big supermarket 10 minutes away and close to the best restaurants in Cancun.

Quick Spring Break Getaway

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. We were close enough to touristy areas but away from touristy noises and crowds. The room was clean and ready when we arrived. Alex and Daniel were very accommodating and welcoming. The rooftop at night was so needed after a long day at the beach. We will definitely stay here again.

Best Stay in Cancun

So we travel to cancun every 6 months and this is the very best place we have stayed! Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds are super comfortable, the showers are hot and the water pressure is fantastic! The hosts are always available to help, they made us restaurant reservations, found us the tea we like and recommended things to do. The pool is lovely with a view of the lagoon. We will be back!

Slice of Heaven

We had such a relaxing time at Casa Tortugas! Just what the doctor ordered. And as other reviewers mentioned, it's so conveniently located that one can get the basics nearby and the shopping mall is only a short Uber drive away. I took off one star from Accuracy of Listing because the roof top bar was advertised (even upon arrival) but was unfortunately closed. We were really looking forward to it. Hopefully next time! We will be back for sure. ❤️

Small gem of a hotel tucked away from the large hotel madness

Beautifully constructed and maintained small hotel located down a quiet side street on the lagoon side of the Cancun hotel zone., yet within very short walking distance to beaches and bus. The owners and staff were wonderful and truly created an atmosphere that felt like we were coming home at the end of the day's excursions.

Beautiful property

The property, especially the grounds, were absolutely gorgeous….paradise on Earth. Alex, Cristina and Alejandro were so accommodating to our needs via the WhatsApp. The only suggestion that I would have, which is not a deal breaker for future visits back here (I already told Alex that we would be back) but it would be nice to have an oven in the units. It would be nice to be able to throw a frozen pizza or something quickly in the oven so you don’t have to eat out all of the time. Otherwise, the accommodations and atmosphere were so relaxing and just what we needed. We can’t wait to come back!

This place is truly special. Clean rooms, gorgeous views. We had a perfect trip here with our 7 year old son. Beach is just across the street. All the tourist attractions are within arm’s reach but coming home to this serene place was always my favorite part of the day. Cristina, Her son Alex, and the whole family were just superb hosts. Wish we could have stayed longer. 5 stars isn’t enough stars.

Fantastic place to stay - especially with a baby!

We stayed at Casa Tortugas for 10 days and had a great time. If you’re looking for a more independent experience than an all-inclusive, and a smaller, more boutique stay than a big resort, this is a great option. We specifically selected this property given it offers two bedroom apartments (in addition to other configurations) which was a great option with our infant baby and was vastly superior to anything else I could find in Cancun, most of which would have been more expensive as well. Our unit came with a comfortable king bed, generous kitchen and bright view of the water. It is a beautiful property with fantastic views over the lagoon which we enjoyed from the room and from the pool. The building exudes great charm and is thoughtfully decorated with beautiful artwork and colors throughout. The backyard is tranquil with very comfortable pool chairs. As others have mentioned, the local busses were super easy to navigate and stupidly cheap. The ferry terminal for Isla Mujeres is also right across the road which was perfect, along with a convenience store and pharmacy. We also enjoyed a visit to Playa Tortugas, the beach across the street, which was actually very pretty and charming (go left when you hit the water and walk down a bit for the better stretches). It was a great base to explore the area and between the cenotes near Puerto Morelos, some truly world class restaurants, and the wonderful attractions Isla Mujeres had to offer, such as swimming with the dolphins (AMAZING)! It was one of the best trips we’ve had in a long time (and all with an 11 month old!). Lastly I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how helpful the owners are who live on the property and set up a dedicated WhatsApp group for each room. Christina in particular is a super hero and went way above and beyond to take care of us! She’s trained in Montessori and loves kids and just went out of her way to accommodate us. She did everything from give us tailored attraction and food recommendations that were baby-friendly, to providing a good quality car seat for our car rental, to bringing in a wonderful selection of children’s books for our daughter. We really felt taken care of!

A smaller property, which is what we wanted, Casa Tortugas was perfect. Lovely location, away from the chaos of Cacun, and helpful owners. The apartment was large with air conditioning and a living area overlooking the garden/lagoon.

The reviews that preceded this one have done a wonderful job of capturing all the great aspects of this place. The units and grounds are very well maintained, and actually even better than the photographs. The location, as others have stated, is fantastic. You're across the street from the beach, Isla Mujeres ferry, and the bus stop, which cheaply gets you anywhere you need to go. The place is quiet, peaceful, within a short bus ride to everything, and perfect for families or those looking for a sanctuary after hitting it hard on the town. If you're looking to choose your own daily adventures and not be confined to the all-inclusive resort style vacation then this is the perfect place for you. The rooms are nicely cooled so you can sleep comfortably. I echo all the great things that others have said about this place. Tip: Alejandro said the buses always stop at Casa Tortugas (the stop across the street), however some of the bus drivers will skip stops so just be sure to let the driver know to stop when you are nearing the Casa Tortugas bus stop.

Beautiful Setting

The setting of Casa Tortugas is beautiful. The apartments are newly renovated and modern. The owners, Christina and Alex, are lovely people who want you to enjoy your stay. The property is quiet, relaxed and situated on the lagoon side. You cannot swim in the lagoon because of crocodiles, but you can go on a boat in the lagoon. You can swim in the nice pool or cross the main boulevard to Playa Tortugas, about a 5 minute walk, and swim in the ocean. There you can also get the ferry to Isla Mujeres. It would have been nice to have an oven in the unit. There is a two burner induction stove (which only works with certain pots that contain iron) and a microwave, but no oven. Cristina provided us with a toaster oven, which was very helpful, but having a an oven in each unit seems reasonable and would complete the unit so that there would be a full kitchen. Also, it is noteworthy, that there is a single washer/dryer on the first level. It would be better to have a washer/dryer in each unit or at least a few more washer/dryers on the property. Overall, my children enjoyed swimming in the pool and it was great that the lobby had games for them to play with. Thank you Christina and Alex!

Great Hosts and Beautiful Location

Our family stayed at Casa Tortugas for a week. The apartment we had was clean and spacious with lots of closet space. The shower was nice and big. Our hosts Alex, Chris, and Alex Jr. went above and beyond accommodating all our needs. I would highly recommend this lovely place for everyone.

Great sunset views, clean and comfortable property

Alex and his wife are very gracious hosts. The hotel zone is bustling and somewhat commercial, but it's not too difficult to get out a ways to some more secluded beaches. We took a short trip to Tulum via ADO busses (cheap and comfortable charter busses) and has a great adventure. Highly recommended. Thanks guys!

A fantastic spot!

Our family of 4 (kids ages 9 & 7) spent a week at Casa Tortuga, and loved every second of it! The owners, Alex and Christina live on site and were extremely welcoming and accommodating! The room was clean, modern & spacious. The location was fantastic, (across the street from the beach, and local activities including the ferry to Isla Mujeres), and very convenient to hop on the local bus. We spent hours lounging by the pool. Great scenery, with views of the lagoon, great spot!
