Water Tower in the Redwoods - Just Five Minutes To Historic Mendocino Village
Escape to this private, peaceful, 550 square feet water tower suite nestled amongst the redwoods. This is the perfect place for a romantic get-away or some downtime. Sleep under the overhead and inspired sunflower, lit by the rays of the morning sun. Best of all, you'll be surrounded by plenty of tall trees and ocean breezes, with a location 2.75 miles east of the village of Mendocino.
The private (exclusive) bathroom has a roomy shower, beautiful stone counters, custom cabinets built by a local fine woodworker, and radiant floor heating. The bedroom has the feel of a tree house, with a new, comfy, king-sized, dreamy, bed, good reading lights, 55" LG OLED HDR TV, with Apple TV. Wake up to the sound of birds in the trees and sunlight filtering through the redwoods.
On chilly mornings, warm up with a cup of coffee before heading out for the day. There is a downstairs entry room with all that you need to make that perfect cup of morning coffee, or tea, plus a small fridge for wine or leftovers (but, sorry, no cooking). The outdoor deck is set in a lovely Asian-style garden, a perfect place to enjoy the outdoors.
The Water Tower makes for an ideal home base for exploring the fabulous Mendocino Coast. You will undoubtedly want to visit the historic, quaint, and quirky coastal village and enjoy the many art galleries, restaurants, and shops. Take a walk on the Mendocino Headlands State Park and the majestic coastal bluffs of the Pacific Ocean. When you are done, wander back into town for a hot chocolate, or glass of wine at the historic Mendocino Hotel.
The area is known for ocean kayaking, hiking, and phenomenal mountain biking opportunities such as the beautiful Big River trail. You're also close to Russian Gulch State Park and the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse recreational areas for further adventures.
At the end of a day of adventuring along the Mendocino Coast, relax and enjoy a glass of wine from one of the many wonderful local wineries.
Winter is a great time to visit the Mendocino area and experience the winter storms and watch the whales migrate from Alaska to Mexico to give birth to their babies.
Guest space is in a converted water tower, and is separate from (but attached to) the historic lumber bunkhouse which has been converted into owner's current residence. Many acres of fir and redwood forest are just outside the doors.
This space is not appropriate for children, or people who smoke, or pets, or guests who need to heat/cook food. VRBO requires that we ask you to ‘clean up as you go’ ( Thanks!).
A personal vehicle is totally necessary in this area. No public transportation worthy of the name!
