We really liked our stay because the house made it so great for the whole extended family to be comfortable and hang out together. It was also close to Ashville which allowed us to make a quick trip into town to see the sights. The house was very very well stocked for our Thanksgiving feast and setup for us to have the whole family together for the big meal.
The house was impeccable and many nice touches with items provided such as toiletries and kitchen items. House was extremely clean and a great set up for our group. Excellent communication with the host!
We had a great stay. The location was central to everything we wanted to do in and around Asheville. The house had more than enough room. Was well stocked with all you need for a week’s stay. We will definitely visit again.
Fabulous home away from home for a whole month! We could not have been happier being located so close Asheville, Hendersonville and some amazing hiking trails, waterfalls, and beautiful vistas. Family and pet-friendly. Spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished. Well stocked kitchen. Wonderful downstairs entertainment room with a wide of interesting books and videos for all ages. Close to great breweries and amazing BBQ! My opinion: best ever vacation rental ever!
Cold Moose Cabin was perfect for our weekend away in the mountains. It was easy to get to downtown Asheville & everywhere else we wanted to go, but we still felt like we were out in the mountains :) Excellent view, comfy living area, great amenities. Highly recommend for a weekend in Asheville!!!
Absolutely everything you could want in the kitchen is supplied. The house magnificent and exactly as advertised. It was perfect for our family’s Thanksgiving week holiday.
Our stay at Cold Moose went well. The house is large and accommodating. The location is central, but secluded. The house is pet friendly and the neighborhood and street are extremely quiet. The view from the deck is spectacular! We will stay again.
Very nice place. Very quiet neighborhood. Plenty of room and we liked the layout of all the rooms. Plenty of space, excellent lighting, great views, and awesome shower in the master bath. Thank you.
This is our second stay at this home. Loved it this time as well. Clean and organized. Great location and has all of the space we needed as well as a great view.
The house is conveniently located near Asheville, but far enough away that to feel like you’re getting away. The house is older, which offered some unique features. That being said, it has been updated so it doesn’t feel outdated. We had an enjoyable stay, and would definitely consider staying here again.
This is our fifth time staying at Cold Moose Cabin and every time we cant wait to come back. It's close enough to Asheville we can run in for breakfast and close enough to Hendersonville we can drive down for lunch. Aside from the peace and quiet there's that mountain view that never seems to be quite the same evert day. My wife is already bugging to make another reservation.
We loved this house. It was in a rural setting but 10 minutes to restaurants and stores and 20 minutes to downtown Asheville, The Biltmore, and the Arboretum. We felt like we had the best of all worlds. It was the best-stocked rental we have ever had. Would highly recommend this house for anyone interested in spending some time near Asheville in a very bucolic setting.
This house is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to Asheville, Black Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway and many other sites. It had plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and one teen and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I would highly recommend it and definitely consider returning. (Also no scary driveway.)
So clean and well stocked. One of the best places we ever stayed. Had instructions for all electronics, light switches etc. Very considerate and understanding owners. Would return in a heart beat. Thanks so much!
The place was very clean. We had a great time meeting family here plenty of room. Was pretty close to ashville
The place had plenty of beds and plenty of supplies for everything we needed. We brought supplies not knowing what we would need but everything was there for us. Only suggestion would
be to trim some of the trees in front of the deck for a little better view but it stay was awesome. I would definitely go back to this house again
You read that correctly. My group of 6 friends (women now in their forties) have stayed in this house every year, for 7 years straight. We don’t even discuss where to stay for our annual Girl’s Trip anymore!
Perfect location, great views, great decks, plenty of space, and a terrific host. You will not be disappointed!

We moved to Asheville in 2005 from Denver, Colorado. We wanted to live out in the country and found our house in a small rural neighborhood south of Asheville. We loved the open floor plan and views of Mt. Pisgah on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Over the years we hosted many parties and overnight guests and received so many positive comments about the house that we decided to try the vacation rental option in 2015. We love Asheville and wanted to continue to use our home so this seemed like the perfect arrangement. We have worked in the field of natural resources throughout our careers. I enjoyed a 32-year career with the US Forest Service that took me throughout the southeast and Colorado. In 2011 I retired from the National Forests in North Carolina. Bill continues his forestry career mapping forest resources across the US. When we’re not enjoying the Asheville scene, we live on our farm in Georgia. In the foyer is a charcoal sketch done by our daughter of our farm house that Bill built. We have three children and five grandchildren. Needless to say, Asheville and western North Carolina have been a mecca for us with our lifelong interest in the outdoors. We know some of the best places in the area for outdoor recreation. For instance, we know where you can view up close wild elk in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We can direct you to some of the most outstanding waterfalls in the southeast and places to whitewater raft and kayak. Our favorite spot is Max Patch near the North Carolina/Tennessee border where you can hike a short section of the Appalachian Trail and picnic in an open meadow with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We know you’ll love your visit to Asheville. Your biggest challenge will be deciding what to see and do during your visit. There is such a variety of options! You will want to return time and again to see it all!
