Ski-in, Ski-out Penthouse in the Village at Palisades Tahoe, located in the heart of the Village. Gym, hot-tubs, sauna located in the building. Indoor parking. Vaulted ceiling in bedroom only. Towels, bed linens, soap provided. Full efficiency with electric stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer, cook ware, plates, utensils, etc. Sleeper sofa folds out to sleep two people. LED TV's, cable, heated floors with the best view in town. Only Lobby open 24 hours a day!!!

Heat: Central heat and space heaters are provided.

A/C: Please note the unit is equipped with an air conditioner in the master bedroom, however, none of the buildings in the Village were built with air conditioning. The Village is at approximately 6000 feet above sea level and most summer nights are quite cool, well below 60 degrees.

Parking: Indoor parking spot within building included.

The location is perfect for ski in/ski out and the condo is comfortable. The check in and out was so convenient and smooth. We appreciated how easy everything was including on-site parking.

Great Winter Get Away!

We stayed here for a ski trip, end of February. The location is very convenient to either the Funitel or Base to Base gondolas. It’s also great if you want to shop or dine at any of the establishments in Palisades Village. When checking in, go straight to the checkin desk to the left of the front door of the building entrance and ask them to help you find the lock box and all will be well. They are friendly and helpful. The amenities are nice, with 2 jacuzzis and a great entertainment area for kids. This condo was very clean and orderly with plenty of towels and soap. The king size bed was extremely comfy! For a small place we found it very comfortable. The fireplace was warm and the heat worked well, so the condo was never cold. Loved the view and the kitchen was superbly stocked.

Disappointing Host

The property is in an ideal location at the base of the mountain in the village. I enjoyed my stay for the most part but beware of the host! If you have any problems you will be belittled and treated disrespectfully. Not very helpful when a problem arises! I would not stay at this property again for that very reason.

Wonderful!

Fantastic location and great space. Basic furniture which was absolutely fine. A deep bathtub and heated bathroom floors were a plus! The fireplace wasn't working when we first arrived bc apparently the outside wind can sometimes blow fireplace pilot lights off (probably happens to different units based on wind direction and location in building, ie top floors), but a quick call to front desk and it was quicked in minutes. Peter was super fast fielding our questions using the VRBO app, as we battled changing weather conditions and requests to lenghten our stay. We just really didn't want to leave actually. I'd book again!

Wouldn't stay here again

3 issues. 1) The window AC in the unit wasn't sufficient to cool the entire unit. So I wasn't able to sleep in the bedroom as it was too hot. Ours was a SUMMER stay so maybe in the winter it's fine. 2) the Fridge and Freezer didn't work. Fridge barely cooled below room temperature and the Freezer didn't freeze.... 3) The check in instructions had many holes in them which led to the check in begin chaotic and delayed. Wifi was also not clear as their were different logins in different places. Definitely not well thought out or clear. And when reaching out to the host while trying to get checked in he didn't answer his phone and only communicated through the VRBO app and it wasn't helpful...

Do Not Recommend; find another host in Olympic Village

this is more of a buyer beware review. The host was completely unhelpful when Tahoe pretty much shut down due to the 2024 blizzard. All roads to the resort were closed, but the host was completely inflexible in terms of rescheduling or accommodating me during other dates. I realize the weather warnings came in late, but they could have easily been reasonable and gracious enough to give us another weekend, a partial refund, or anything else. But they weren't and you should beware that if anything comes up they'll probably be equally unhelpful to you. Sure, I guess we should have purchased travel insurance but it's also reasonable to expect reasonable concessions from a host in my opinion. They just wanted their money. full stop.

Third Rate Condo

Owner is terrible at communicating and only does so through the app. Arrived two days late for my reservation due to storm that closed I-80 for 3 days, so I only got to stay there 1 night Condo wasn't particularly clean, kitchen was sparsely stocked (3 coffee mugs, 2 wine glasses), furniture is dated and cheap, shower had little water pressure. Window to master bedroom wouldn't close so cold air was streaming in all day and night. (Room was 50 degrees--couldn't sleep in there). Maintenance tried to put plastic over it, but that didn't hold. Owner gave me the lowest daily rate for refund. He's just the worst. He genuinely seems put out by any questions and often didn't get a reply for 12+ hours. His unit reflects a genuine lack of care as well. We extended our stay in a different condo rented through Palisades directly--1000% better--roomier, cleaner, newer and LESS expensive. Owner's like this are ruining VRBO.

Wonderful stay in the village

We stayed 4 nights in Peter’s place and it was great. It offers a lot of flexibility with a full kitchen and lots of dinning options within a short walk. We snowboarded every day and the hot tubs were a great tool for recovery. Both Truckee and Tahoe City are a short drive away.

Disappointed

Mold in shower, only one wine glass in unit (!), leaky window in bedroom that allowed cold air in, owner made it difficult to communicate (only responding periodically through VRBO rather than texting), check out time set at 10:30 am (Palisades check out is at 11 am!)…these may seem to be little things, but for as much as we paid per night, we were disappointed.

No a/c in building - had to check out early

The unit was nice and loved the location! While the owner was gracious enough to have a one room, Portable AC unit -It did not do much to bring the temperature down in the unit and in the bedroom was not usable. So i had to sleep on the fold-out bed in the living room, which was not a comfortable mattress and an extremely tight fit in that room. I ended up checking out a day early and I asked for a refund from the owner with no reply. While, I understand the heat wave was not the owners fault, the fact that we had to use the ac the entire time and could really only use the living room, Drain it and reset it when it became full of condensation, And could not use the bedroom due to the heat, I feel that some sort of refund for us, Leaving early - even a credit for a future stay- would have been a nice gesture.

Olympic Village Ski Stay

This was a great property for me and my adult children. It was a close walk to the Aerial Tram up the mountain to High Camp. The place was clean, the beds comfortable, enough room for the 4 of us and all of our ski gear. Nice fireplace and warm shower. Balcony overlooking the Village. Love it! Check in was easy. Directions were perfect. Parking underground so no need to scrape vehicle. We had a fantastic stay. Thank you!

Nice place but temperature too hot to enjoy

The only air available is a machine that beeps at you every half hour to empty water. Way too hot on this top floor to enjoy the room.

Good condo, has all the bases covered.

Property was as described. Clean, and the bed was comfy. Kitchen was fine. There was a problem with the internet, and the owner’s people were not particularly interested in solving it. Eventually we determined they had provided the wrong password. Once we let them know that they corrected the problem but gave us a lame excuse that was easily disproven with a phone call to the front desk. If not for that problem and the lack of candor I’d have given 5 stars.
