About Cheryl Santos

My husband Jim and I moved to Cayuga Lake in 2002 - he from Pine City NY and me from Hawaii. We both are naturally drawn to water, so Cayuga Lake was our chosen place. My husband has 3 grown children and he retired in 2012. Now our children are of the four-legged sort (we have friendly tale-wagging dogs and we invite you to bring your dogs along). We live directly across the street from the cabin and we are always available if you need anything. We take great pride in providing a clean, comfortable vacation property, and it is important to us that you have a wonderful vacation experience. We want to ensure that you’ll make memories here that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Cheryl Santos purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Cheryl Santos chose New York

We chose Cayuga Lake for its natural beauty, the variety of things to see and do in close proximity, yet also the tranquility of country living. We envisioned building a cabin here so we could share this unique area with others, providing a comfortable retreat for our guests. We designed and built the cabin as a contemporary modern space yet with rustic charm.

What makes this cabin unique

Situated in a sunny field adjoining the woods, this log cabin is a tranquil retreat. It is very spacious for 2 – 6 people with an open floor plan, cathedral ceilings, and 2 private bedrooms. It is impeccably clean and is well equipped with most necessary items. A walking trail across the street gives you access to Cayuga Lake. The cabin is centrally located on the Cayuga Wine Trail. Nearby are hiking trails, biking paths, and quaint shops. The cabin rental costs less per person than many hotels, plus you have your own private space. The radiant floor heating warms the cabin to a cozy temperature on cool nights. It is also air conditioned for your comfort in summer months.

Clean, quiet, and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Every part of the rental process was simple. The cabin was spotless and beautiful. We immediately went to the dock and made use of the kayaks. College visits didn't give us much time to enjoy the gorgeous lake and surroundings, but we did get in one winery visit and enjoyed a run with waterfall views and the great Ithaca Farmers' Market. I wish we'd had more time at the cabin and in the area.

Amazing spot!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week here for our honeymoon, and it was just fantastic! The cabin was beautiful, roomy, clean, and was in the perfect spot. Only a few minutes from all the necessities, and only a half hour from downtown Ithaca. We got to use the private lake access, spend some time on the dock, and enjoy the porch of the cabin as well. The owners stopped by to check in on us, have a quick chat/hello, and recommend some great places to visit also! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a lake getaway. We would definitely return!

Great trip / Great experience!

  • 5 of 5

The cabins and property were absolutely perfect. Extremely clean, very function and loaded with everything you could possible need. Great location on Cayuga lake - A great Bass lake - One of the top 10 in the country and best in New York and right in the middle of wine country. There are also several nice parks to visit, lots of hiking trails and of course the other finger lakes. The owners, Cheryl and Jim, were fabulous. Very friendly, extremely helpful and made us feel right at home. We were there with our two dogs and we all had a great time. We are very much looking forward to our next trip there! We would highly recommend this facility and a trip to Cayuga lake!
