We had an amazing time at the lake! We stayed 5 nights with sunshine filled days and perfect evenings for campfires by the water! The kids loved the rope swing, the grownups loved fishing on the dock, docking the boats was easy on the pier, and we saw lots of eagles overhead all day!
VRBO was a nightmare and couldn’t make the deal happen , they couldn’t even figure it out. They need to be better, terrible service! However, the owner of the cabin and i connected one on one and he was cool and I sent him the money directly and he gave me all the welcome information and all was good. VRBO sucks
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here and loved it both times! Thanks for the great stay - being able to dock our fishing boat is a huge bonus! Being able to walk to Clearview Supper Club is wonderful (make sure you ask for Violet as your waitress when you make your reservation). Enjoy!
The house was very clean and it’s right on big Saint Germain lake. What was supposed to be a snowmobile trip turned into an ice fishing trip when the weather didn’t cooperate. Plenty of space to spread out and relax. Would love to stay here again.
Overall, we had a nice time at the lake house again this year. This is our third year coming up and always look forward to our time on Big St. Germain. The house has most everything you would need from towels to kitchen items. Thanks for another great week of memories. We have already booked for next year.
The cabin/home was great! Right on the lake. Easy to find from the highway and close to lots of fun stuff. Enough parking for 2 cars, a boat trailer and even room for a visitor too if needed. Plenty of space for two teenage boys to sprawl out and us parents having our own bathroom and shower. Brought my boat and had no problems with the private dock. Fishing was surprisingly good off the pier. Caught several bass including a few keepers though we only kept perch and bluegills for a great fish fry later in the week! Neighbors provided an awesome fireworks show on Sunday night which was a surprise. Not likely a regular event but was cool. Owners provided everything needed along with contact info for anything else. Outside of that, we followed their detailed instructions they provided and didn’t require anything else from them during our stay. Would highly recommend and we hope to stay there again!
The cabin itself was nice. It was disappointing however that there was 2ft tall itch weed throughout the whole ‘swimming’ area. We were also unaware the whole lake was full of swimmers itch until all of us contracted it, one of us which was bad enough to have to seek medical attention. Apparently this lake is well known for swimmers itch and we had taken the precautions but regardless. That is not the owner’s fault, but would have been nice to know, especially since we planned to swim all week and couldn’t, and couldn’t even because of the itch weed all over. We were also told we could bring our dogs and brought our own vacuum and cleaned the place upon exit cleaner than when we arrived and we still were given a fine for ‘excessive dog hair and sand’ which then entire property is sand, it would impossible to keep clean had I not brought my vaccines. Would not stay here again.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. However, others may want to know a few things: there are no closets in any of the bedrooms-only one set of drawers. But they did have a portable hanging rack in the main hallway closet which we used to hang some things. The queen bed in one of the bedrooms was broken and needs to be replaced. The owners have a second mattress slid under the main one to try and keep it from sinking to the floor. Not suitable for any adult to sleep on. The living room furniture and outside furniture needs replacing, too. The yard was also in need of some TLC. It appears no one mows it or cares for it. So it was tall and messy looking and was uncomfortable to walk through. And if you don’t have a boat, you likely won’t be able to swim because it was very weedy all around the shoreline/dock area. But even with all that said, we still enjoyed our week-long stay. The house was very cute inside and clean. We also enjoyed boating and the location of the house.
Our family members ranged in age of 1+ to 65. The 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, good sized kitchen and living room provided us with very good accommodations. The deck with its roof has a great view and was our favorite place to hang out. It even had a nice table and 4 very comfortable chairs. The dock was a good place to tie up our boat and had a nice bench at the end for fishing. Everything was clean. We also enjoyed using the kayaks and small fishing boat. We recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place for a family vacation.
We really enjoyed our weeks stay at the lake home in July. The cabin was nicely decorated and clean. The mattresses were very comfortable and the house was stocked with all the kitchenware, linens and towels we needed. It accommodated 5 adults and a baby very nicely. The owners were quick to answer any questions we had before-hand and during our stay. The location was perfect with restaurants, bait, groceries, ice cream all within a short drive into town. We have already booked for next year!!
We enjoyed our week here. Beautiful cabin, appointed nicely. Only drawback is very tight roadway to access the cabin. Came in with our 24' pontoon and with no turn around, really challenged my backing skills.
Lovely little lakeside home. Beautiful view of the lake. Quiet neighborhood, walking distance to a very good supper club. Not dirty, but needs a good spring cleaning.
The house was in a great location. The place was not clean and the sheets did not fit the beds. The cleaners did not do a good job before we arrived and we were definitely disappointed. In addition, when we have rented places in the past, there has always been a washer/dryer at the property. It’s hard to travel with young children and not have that option there. It was good to vacation in a new spot but would not rent this place again. The St. Germain/Minacqua area is a great family vacation spot.

I am very sorry that Shawn was unhappy with his vacation. Shawn, his wife and 3 little children, including a baby, had a rough time and bad weather. As far as the cleaning goes, my wife and I were there for 3 days before he checked in about 9pm. We did the cleaning and the place was spotless, the same as it always is for our guests, and our cleaning crew leaves it spotless as well. Hope he next vacation is better somewhere.
Very well appointed home with beautiful lake view. Comfortable and clean bedrooms. Great showers! Fans, linens, towels… all provided. Great location, with 2 restaurants close by. Lots of fun! I only wish winter dates were available.
We all had a great time here enjoying the beautiful scenery over the lake and enjoying a campfire in the evening. The cabin is beautiful and has everything you would need. The ATV trails are great around here. We had fun "supper clubbing" for dinners. Owner is great to work with and very responsive. Would stay here again!
