About Tricia Adams
We are Dean and Tricia Adams, both Northern Michigan natives. Dean is owner of Bay Area Contracting, a highly regarded custom home builder/ general contractor in the Traverse City area. Tricia is a Neonatal ICU nurse. We both love to travel, which means we know what people want in a vacation property. Also, we live on the lake, which means we have stocked all of Lakemore Retreat's homes with all the ammenities and conveniences desired by anyone living or vacationing on a lake.
Tricia Adams purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Tricia Adams chose Traverse City
Arbutus Lake is a special place, we know this because we live here. It's an all sports lake with a public boat launch. Arbutus is great for high speed boating, yet it still offers the quiet serenity of a small lake. Even the busiest days on Arbutus don't compare to the craziness of a regular summer day on the more populated inland lakes of the Traverse City area.
What makes this Cabin unique
This property (three adjacent lots) was appealing for us to invest in because of our ability to manage three homes side by side and because of they offer direct lake access. Many lots on Arbutus Lake are up high and require stairs and long winding pathways to reach the lake. Lakemore Retreat is at lake level and the walk to the sandy beach is as easy as it gets.

Up North Adventure
We had a lovely time staying at the lakemore retreats cabin and bunkhouse. With two young babies (two under two), the bunkhouse was a blessing for the grandparents to sneak off to at night to get a full nights rest while the parents dealt with a few nightly wake ups. Beautiful views from everywhere on the property, very clean, and close enough to downtown Traverse City to explore on the few rainy days we had. We would definitely like to stay here again.
My family stayed at Lakemore Retreats in the Cabin. It was a perfect size for our family which included 6 adults and 1 child. The lake was beautiful and clear. Tricia was easy to work with through the booking and she provided very clear information about the stay, activities in the area, and instructions on check-in/check-out process. We had a few questions after check-in and she came by to make sure we were all settled and answered our questions about the house.
The house comes with paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, and even a game room. The pier and beach made playing in the lake even more fun.
We could not have chosen a better location and I am sure we will be back!
Luxury on the Lake
Beautiful property, clean quiet lake, accomodations were
All about the location!
Left relaxed and rested.
Beautiful location. Secluded but close to Traverse City. Property is well taken care of.
We loved our stay. Spent time at a nature preserve across the street, kayaking and paddle boarding in the lake, as well as taking short adventures to TC.
Lakemore Retreat's Cabin is one of three available Arubuts lakefront properties (Lakemore Cottage and Lodge are next door). All properties can be rented individually or together, with a combined occupancy of 34. Lakemore Cabin features 2016 renovations to an already well maintained home. Lakemore Lodge and Cottage are new homes built in 2015. All three properties offer easy access to the water (no steps or cliffs) and optimal views of the lake. Come enjoy the many benefits of this all sports inland lake where the 395 acres are swimmable from May until October, the fishing is plentiful and the conditions are perfect for many water sports including kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, water skiing and tubing, all while being minutes away from Traverse City’s restaurants, shops, wineries, golf courses, ski resorts and more. Lakemore Retreat is directly adjacent to The Brown Bridge Quiet Area which offers miles of hiking trails, and to Boardman Valley Trail system, 81 miles of snowmobile trails. Boardman River is also within 3 miles of Lakemore Retreat, a great place to do river tubing, kayaking, canoeing and fishing.
This setting is perfect for relaxing Lakefront Vacationing away from the hussle of town, but be sure to leave time for a short 15 minute drive to the city. Traverse City is well known for its lakefront as well, with countless shops and restaurants. The greater Traverse City Area is nationally recognized for Old Mission Peninsula and the Leelanau Peninsula's many wineries, as well as the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
