The perfect cabin in a great location that is adorably decorated. It was a great place to stay in the mountains. We highly suggest staying here.
Best little cabin in Montana!
Wonderful!! Just wonderful!
We are so glad you enjoyed your time at Bearfoot! It was lovely meeting you and hope you will come back again. We have a discount for repeat guests!
Had a great Thanksgiving week at the “Bear Foot” cabin. The cabin was perfect for a family of four. 5 minutes from downtown Whitefish and only 20 miles from the West gate to Glacier National Park. So much to do in the area!
This is such a lovely house in a quiet setting. The fireplace and cozy furnishings reminded me of home. We enjoyed watching the wild turkeys stroll across the yard and field each morning.
Thank you for reviewing our property. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay! It was a pleasure having you.
What family vacation dreams are made of!!
As I sit to write about this cabin, I am torn between giving an honest review about how utterly amazing this place is, and keeping it all to myself so that it can be available for us when we can get back. But, since I strive to be a giving person, I will share about this place, as I think everyone needs to experience time as we did at Bearfoot Cabin.
As soon as we pulled in, we knew there was something so special about this place. We were greeted by sweet treats for all of us, including our pup. It was our first time to Montana, and although we had grand plans of hikes and exploration, our entire family was completely content just enjoying the beauty that surrounded the cabin. So incredibly private and secluded, yet just minutes from downtown Whitefish (which we loved!), and Kalispell, and just a short drive to Glacier. We loved having dinner outside every night, coffee on the huge porch, and watching the deer and turkeys frolic around.
Our three kids loved the loft areas, what fun. Cabins like these are seared in kids’ minds, what a magical place to have the areas to enjoy and spread out. Beds were so comfortable, and kitchen stocked with everything we could need. It was an added bonus to have the owners on the same property, they are a wealth of information and quite frankly, a joy to be around. They loaned us bear spray for our hikes, and the one time we needed to borrow something (a ladder to take a family picture), they had it on our porch by the time we returned to the cabin. There is a binder chock full of everything you need to know about the area, which was a great resource for someone like us who hadn’t ever been to Montana!
It’s not everyday you stay at a place that is meticulously clean, yet so cozy, so comfortable, and just feels like home. We cannot recommend this place enough, and can’t wait to return!

Glacier National Park, Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort, numerous lakes, rivers and streams, beautiful golf courses and incredible views all make the Flathead Valley a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Music, theater, art and food lovers, will find much to see and do in the surrounding towns of Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Kalispell and Bigfork.

About Nancy and Jesse Thompson
Originally from Memphis, TN we vacationed here in 2000 and never wanted to leave! So we bought a piece of land and built the cabin in 2004. After vacationing in the cabin with friends and family every chance we got, we decided to make the Flathead Valley our permanent home. We moved into the cabin in 2010 while we built a home next door, which we moved into in 2011. The house and cabin are separated by a stand of trees so each have privacy. We certainly respect your privacy while on vacation, but are also happy to meet you if we are home and happy to answer questions about all the fun things to do around here!

Why Nancy and Jesse Thompson chose Columbia Falls
We loved the rural setting, away from the hustle & bustle. But we also loved that it was close and convenient to everything! We feel like we live in the country, but we are only minutes away from all the conveniences of the surrounding towns - not to mention Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall Wilderness area, 2 ski resorts and too many lakes and rivers to even name!
What makes this House unique
Rural feel but convenient to all the Valley has to offer. Only 7 minutes to Whitefish and Columbia Falls, 15 minutes to Kalispell, 10 minutes to the airport and 25 minutes to Glacier National Park. County roads and driveway are plowed during winter weather.
