As you turn off Highway 9 on to Heeney Road you will literally feel the stresses of the world melting away. The idyllic settings along this windy mountain road are a more intimate continuation of the scenic ride and vistas you've already been enjoying along your drive into the high country. Mountains and Otter Creek ranch, hiking to lower and upper Cataract lakes to one side, cows at pasture, large open meadows, and the lake below it all on the other. Once you are on the lake you are wowed by 360 views.
From one of the best view spots on the lake you find yourself transported into modern lake cabin charm and comfort at the Silver Sunset cabin. Rich wood tones envelope you from the tongue and groove ceilings with beams to the teak wood flooring and rustic wood accents. A window seat and huge viewing window, large sliding doors and great deck ensure exposure to the serene views, sunrises, sunsets, shadows playing on the hills across the reservoir, fox visitors, local bird life, deer and other wildlife.
A brand new highly efficient fireplace adds warms and glow to your mornings or evenings and supplements a modern forced air heating system. An open floor plan and full entertainment center allows for more enjoyment possibilities.
A full kitchen with new appliances awaits your simply delicious or creative gourmet cookery. Everything you need, a blender, crock pot, full range and oven, microwave, spices, oils and dishwasher for clean up along with a beautiful modern refrigerator.
A washer and dryer are handy for cleaning up after adventures as well as the shower and tub in the full, charming as all get out, bathroom.
Bedrooms with dressers, two nightstands each, bedside lighting, beds with quality, cozy, clean bedding, closets and carpet beneath your feet make for gems of rooms that are little retreats within themselves.
If you are treated to watching a storm blow in with all it's majesty upon the lake you will even enjoy the sound of rain on the new metal roof.

Home away from home
From the minute we walked in, the lake house felt like home. It was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped (including storage containers for leftovers), the view is calming, and truly allows you to rejuvenate from our crazy lives. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We had a great time here and when we needed to make a change to our schedule the owners were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great Cabin - Awesome Views
We enjoyed "getting away from it all" for a couple of days at this perfect mountain cabin. It had everything we needed for a warm, cozy stay, including tremendous mountain and lake views. Away from the hustle and bustle of Dillon / Silverthorne, its still a quick trip to the ski areas - our kids skied both days and missed all of the I-70 traffic. Highly recommend - we'll be back!
Amazing views, beautiful cabin.. couldn’t ask for anything better!
This cabin was beautiful and extremely clean, everything you can possibly need and the location and the views were breathtaking!!! The owners Autumn and Mark are easy to get a hold of incase you need them for anything. We definetly want to make another trip at this same exact cabin in the summer time!! Thanks for such an awesome rental! The neighbor hood fox also made a visit!!!
Great cozy cabin, beautiful setting!!
Cabin had terrific mountain view from back deck. Fire place got constant use. WiFi worked great. Grill was another great amenity. Great all around experience!! Highly recommended!!
Kids got their white Christmas
Awesome place for my wife and two kids to spend a long holiday week at. While we did spend a lot of time at Copper Mountain we did spend a few days just relaxing or playing in the snow outside. Very clean and stock with all kinds of goodies to take care of day to day items such as cooking or having good wifi to play on your iPad. I noticed the firewood was freshly stocked a few times while we were there as well to keep the fire going in the evenings. The view over the lake was beautiful. We plan on making this a yearly trip at least so may have to use this place again.. Thanks
40 minutes to skiing at premier resorts at A-Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and Loveland and just a bit further to a few more. 30 minutes to Silverthorne outlet shopping and golf. 5 minutes to hiking loop at Lower Cataract Lake a 2.25 mile easy loop around a gorgeous natural mountain lake with waterfall. Harder hike to Upper Cataract that feeds the lower. Ice fishing on the lake in winter and fishing year round is tremendous at the inlet, on the lake and the Blue River. Many wonderful ATV possibilities in summer and snowmobiling in winter very close by. Nearby Ute pass is an incomparable drive with drop dead views of the Gore range and leads to Hot Sulphur Springs about an hour away. Wedding venue at Heeney recreation center. Multiple other lodging possibilities nearby for larger group like weddings. Endless possibilities from this sleepy little village on the lake.
