We certainly understand your displeasure with the red tide, over the years we too have endured several red tides while vacationing at other Florida beaches. The condominiums at Fisherman Cove are literally on the beach with their back porch doors less than 100 feet to the ocean surf. The presence of red tide may be more noticeable with that kind of proximity to the ocean. We were surprised by your critical review of our condo which seemed to be disproportionately affected by the environmental outbreak of red tide which was impacting much of the Florida west coast during the time of your stay. That outbreak of red tide impacted the Florida coast from north of Tampa down to Naples. We'll share our thoughts about this environmental subject with a traveler reading this review... Please consider before booking, that an oceanfront stay may be subject to prolonged periods of bad weather, high winds and rough surf, or other environmental events like a red tide outbreak or county beach/swim advisories. Adverse environmental conditions like these will likely limit the anticipated activities of an oceanfront vacation and are beyond our control as hosts. If a traveler feels that they would be unwilling to experience and accept events like these in stride (not allowing it to affect their stay negatively), although we respect that point of view we would ask that traveler to book a vacation condo other than ours as we feel it would not be within our ability to ensure that the traveler would have a satisfactory stay experience at our condo. The majority of the condos at Fisherman's Cove resort are property managed and guest stay supported by the Fisherman's Cove Condominium Association, Inc. ("FCCA"). FCCA manages our condo and provides our guests with stay support. FCCA's rental office is located right next door to our condo inside the clubhouse building adjacent to the resort's swimming pool. FCCA determines the resort's 9 am checkout time as well as the checkout instructions (which are pretty much industry standard). We are happy to email the current checkout instructions to any traveler who would like to review them before booking our condo. My husband and I as hosts, as well as our property manager FCCA, strive for every guest stay to be a fully satisfying experience. As part of our pre-stay communications with guests, we inform our guests that if they are dissatisfied with housekeeping or anything with the condo, to communicate that issue to us promptly so it can be addressed to their satisfaction. The guest may also report any issue directly in person at the FCCA office or call FCCA at the number they provide. FCCA will then make every attempt to address the issue to the guest's satisfaction. As hosts, we also provide our guests with both of our personal cell phone numbers and ask them to text or call us for any reason during their stay if they are not satisfied. Unfortunately, when we checked with the FCCA rental office they informed us that they were never contacted by this guest concerning any floor/housekeeping issue. We never received a text message or any other communication from this guest during his stay until reading his post departure review. Good communications, by and between all parties (the guest, FCCA and us as host), is essential in ensuring a satisfying guest stay experience in the condo.

Fisherman's cove owners association takes great pride in our common elements and all of the buildings had their old shingle roofs replaced with a beautiful, long lasting metal roof. As with most major condo maintenance projects the roof replacement project was scheduled to begin and complete during the fall off-season but delays extended the project into February.
