Why Roger Belford and Denise Medved chose Flat Rock
It has an unbelievable 200 foot long entrance drive, lined by magnificent 100 foot tall Norwegian Pines, which caused us to fall in love at first sight. The home is comfortable, spacious and charming as well the cottage.
What makes this Cottage unique
We are situated within 2 miles of historic downtown Hendersonville -- and yet it feels as if we are located deep within a country mountain setting. The 350 year old oak tree which canopies Firefly Cottage at Mistletoe Hill captivated our hearts with the rope swing of our childhoods! Beautiful water garden trickles between the cottage and owner's home.

Superb.....The Very Best!!!
My month long stay at Firefly Cottage was absolutely perfect in every way. Roger and Denise, as host and hostess, were gracious, warm, and welcoming always ready and available for any needs or questions and at the same time respectful of guest space and privacy. The Cottage itself just kind of wraps it’s “arms” around you and gently holds you in beauty and peace....I could have stayed here forever!!! Great Gratitude to Roger and Denise❤️
Very comfortable and close to everything you'd want to do!!
My husband and I rented this cottage while we moved to our new home. Roger and Denise were so accommodating to our crazy schedule and it was a God-send to be able to leave all the boxes behind and return to this comfortable cottage during our move. Watch lovely sunrises from the kitchen window, hike Dupont Forrest, visit Jump Off Rock, take in a show at the Flat Rock Playhouse or simply stroll along main street and look at all the cute shops in downtown Hendersonville; soooooo much to do here! I used to travel extensively when I worked so I am picky about cleanliness and this cottage certainly exceeded my high standards. We rented from the end of Nov. until Dec 1 and they even had the cottage decorated for Christmas!!!! All the comforts of home - what a treat!!!!!!!
Charming weekend getaway
Stayed at Roger & Denise’s place while visiting family near Hendersonville. Pride of ownership was immediately apparent. Well-manicured property & super-clean accommodations. Will definitely return.
Peaceful setting, cozy, comfortable, very clean, great host!! Would definitely visit again.
Sweet little mountain retreat!
This adorable cottage was the perfect size for me and my husband to get away for a couple nights. We had lunch at Flat Rock Bakery (a must try!), then tooled around the shops in Hendersonville, luxuriously napped at the cottage in the afternoon and headed out to the fabulous Postero for dinner that night (reservation suggested). The next day we hiked Black Balsam Knob (Tennant Mtn) and enjoyed those amazing views. (hike is not for the faint of heart but worth it!) Roger and Denise were gracious hosts and thought of every detail in their cottage. I am super picky about cleanliness and the cottage exceeded my expectation. It was the perfect size and location for what we needed. If you're staying on a Sunday night, you might think about food options as many of the nicer restaurants are closed(or close really early). We ate at Umi and enjoyed but there are some other pub food type options as well if that isn't your preference. There's also a Harris Teeter and an Ingles so you won't go hungry!
Best little place in Town
For selfish reasons I'd almost rather not give 5 Stsrs so Rogers place is always available for Lynn & I. But that would not be right. Clean, comfortable, cozy, quite and well appointed. It's also close to Hendersonville and my daughter's new place. It's a gem. Enjoy your stay everyone! B.L.
